133’ IAG Yacht “SERENITY” is now offered for sale

Recently launched in 2016, Andrey Shestakov of Atlantic Yacht & Ship is pleased to announce that the 133’ IAG Yacht known as “SERENITY” is now offered for sale. The IAG client that ordered Serenity to be built, spent many years traveling the world and visiting most of the top tier yacht builders. As a successful American businessman he knew that any purchase of a valuable commodity would take serious due diligence on his part. Along the way he met with the IAG representative, Doug Hoogs at various Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show events. When IAG signed the client for the big King Baby project to be built in Zhuhai, China, this was the signal for the Serenity client to move forward.  He and Doug met with Evan K. Marshall and an IAG project manager, Tim Kings at the Miami Show to begin the design and specification process as a prelude to a contract to build.

The Serenity owner’s vision for his yacht took some new twists and turns along the way. It was a good thing that everyone knew it was a rather custom designed project. It took an open mind and a can do attitude by everyone involved.  For instance, Serenity has four rather large balconies, three open and one enclosed inside a bay window. These balconies offer many enjoyable uses to the guests. They create more private space for sunning or enjoying the views. They allow the guest to stand outside during cocktail cruises, and when someone wants to enjoy a cigar they have the perfect place to lounge.  Balconies have not been seen before in this size ship. They cause the  captain’s to be extra careful when maneuvering at the dock since additional fenders must be considered.

Serenity also has a 6 stateroom layout, also not commonly seen but very useful for chartering. Since this owner has been chartering on his previous yachts, he knew the advantage of the extra staterooms.  The large VIP stateroom is on the lower deck and can cleverly be divided by a hidden wall. When the wall is closed it becomes a space for two staterooms and the staterooms are still large and comfortable.

Another unique feature in yachting is a full 4 level elevator system. Since the owner has sister with no ability to climb steps, a quarter million-dollar European elevator was built to serve this need. Ordering the elevator is the easy part. Imagine how difficult it is to build the entire interior around the elevator shaft. Then with engineering both at the shipyard, and with the design office there are the operational details to work out. For instance, when the elevator arrives on the top, Sun Deck, its half high structure must continue up with the cab to create the headroom necessary to exit. For safety reasons, the crew must be involved for the last step arriving at the top.

The Ocean Stainless Z-lift is found on the swim platform and it is a marvel of hydraulic operations. It stows flush on the swim platform when not in use.  It is possible to stow a large tender on the lift when stowed.

If there is an emergency such as a man over board, the Z-lift is the quickest way to launch the rescue tender. When the rescue is completed, the Z-lift again is the quickest and safest way to get the man back on the ship.

When the yacht is at sea, the Z-lift is always stowed except for a rescue. When the yacht is at anchor, the Z-lift is used to launch a tender of jet ski. It also becomes the entertainment feature since it is able to be lowered under water as the perfect “beach.” There are many large steps that articulate so that it is safe to walk into the water and also safe to remain on the very large platform.

With the platform partially submerged, it is by far the easiest way for scuba divers to enter and leave the water. Since they can either float off or onto the platform.

If the Z-lift is raised to its highest point, it also is useful for a diving platform. Again the steps articulate naturally to conform with the lift being up in the air so it is easy to climb up and down.

When the ship is stern to the wharf, the Z-lift can act like a passerelle. Although the yacht has a separate and very large passerelle, some passengers who are nervous “walking the plank,” may feel safer to use the large platform.

In the Wheel House one will notice that the windshield is in a reverse direction. It tilt outward at the top.  Commercial ocean going ships had this style of glass in the early 20th century. It was chosen for its value reducing glare, reducing heat load from the sun’s penetration, and for its value allowing the captain to stand closer to see out better with his binoculars. Everyone seems to agree that this windshield is a better design feature overall.

Serenity was created by Evan K. Marshall (EKM) design for charter or private use.  She is a spectacular Tri-Deck Motor Yacht, the latest in EKM design.  The systems are top brand US purchased for good service.  Her fit and finish are sure to impress the most discriminating yacht connoisseur.

Major highlights include an interior 4-Level elevator, floor to ceiling windows, multiple balconies (Salon, Master, and Sky Lounge), light box flooring, backlit onyx, and multiple entertaining spaces and private areas for 12 guests.  A. There is a spectacular waterfall with a Jacuzzi on the Fly bridge and a wading pool with backlit skylights showing through the ceiling of the 01 deck which are designs unique to Serenity.  The Garage/Cabana//Beach Cub with exclusive Z-Lift System creates a perfect underwater beach allowing easier egress from the water for divers or swimmers.  It may double as a passerelle or be conveniently stored creating a regular swim platform.
