Azimut Atlantis 43 Luxury Yacht Review

The Atlantis represents the most exquisite of Italian engineering – a combination of luxury and performance. She is extremely functional and versatile, representing the best of Italian design and craftsmanship. She has a functional outside space with an aft sunshade and fender stowage coupled with a convenient shifting backrest.

Accommodations

The sitting area can house a small 6 feet 9 inches long tender. On the port side is a refrigerator and an ice maker. The chairs on the starboard ring round a teak wood table. On the forward port side, a raised bench. Some state and headroom’s below deck. While in a run, the outside settees prove worthy in comfort and balance.

She has four outdoor areas in all; the helm chaise, the spherical shape settee, the sun-shades on the aft and bow. Passage to the deck from the cockpit is safely guarded by teak rails. The deck is wide enough; it allows meagre spaces for side decks. She possesses a large sunroof and windows in case of a summer sail. She also possesses two helm seats, although, one is rendered useless by the centre positioned steering. There are two more staterooms plus heads, a galley, well-lit saloon area and much stowage.

Performance

The 43 was tested at high cruise speed on a 20 knots range in bad seas with whitecaps and rollers, and found the 43 braced enough not to make such disappointing interior wood creaks. The sea sent high 4-5 footers, yet, we undercut all that at a steady 14 knots. With enough rotation of 2500 or beyond, the Volvo Penta DPH pushes the boat’s mass at 25 knots.
