Cranchi 50 Fly Yacht Review

Cranchi 50 Fly Yacht Review
The Cranchi 50 will be sure to turn heads thanks to her sporty design and tailor-made layout suited for the American market yet built by a well-known Italian builder, Aldo Cranchi. One of the first boats to hit the market using the new Cranchi drive and engine package, Ryan Jacobson, vice president of Yachtworks, Cranchi’s U.S. distributor, goes on to explain why he is so excited about the launch of this amazing vessel.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Ryan Jacobson says that although they don’t know what the new engine or drive will be called yet, it will consist of something similar to a Volvo 550hp IPS 700, in between the 600 and 800 model which are rarely seen on boats until they’re in the mid-50-foot range. The 50 has a three-stateroom with a two-head layout. And, no wet heads which are typically seen on European boats. There will be a shower in the crew’s quarters (yes it will have a crew’s quarters) transom so boaters don’t have to walk all the way through the boat to take a shower.

Aft saloon doors completely open and flip to the side leaving the galley area open to the cockpit making entertaining during the day comfortable and enjoyable. You can sit seven people in the seating area up front next to the helm where you’re able to get a nice view of where you’re going. There is a sunpad on the bow with a bench seat that can accommodate two to four people.

CONSTRUCTION

The idea for this boat came from Guido Cranchi who has been working with Volvo Penta to put together the new IPS engine-drive package. There will not be a tender garage on the 50 Fly – instead it will be on the swim platform. Since the garage takes up a lot of space, the benefits of that space will go to the engine room where the average person will be able to stand up.

The 50 Fly was supposed to come out in Dusseldorf in January and probably won’t make that date but should be out this summer in the U.S.
