Marlow-Mainship 37 Yacht Review

Marlow-Mainship 37 Yacht ReviewThe Mainship brand was brought back to like by David Marlow, an experienced boat builder. With fresh ideas and an eye for nautical perfection, the new Mainship line was created. There is a large quantity of sound proofing material used, making this boat an almost silent ride. The single engine model has a Yanmar 8LV diesel with 320 horsepower. You can opt for two Yanmar BY3 diesels if desired. The ride itself is smooth and enjoyable, with steering. Talented and pleasurable are the best adjectives to describe this yacht.

Accomodations

Marlow-Mainship 37 Yacht ReviewThe 37 has two cabins and to bathrooms, which is great for cruising with friends or children. The interior is finished with cherry hardwood, and the saloon floors are covered in planked flooring. There is a hug V-berth in the owners’ room and it also has two cedar lockers. The galley downstairs has a freezer and refrigerator. The second cabin, located across from the galley, can be customized as a dinette if you aren’t planning on having many guests. There is a double bench seat in the helm.

Stainless steel glass doors stand between the saloon and cockpit. The door slides open and there are drop down windows to intensify air flow throughout the main cabin. The 10 by 6.5 foot cockpit has a reverse transom that can create a patio like setting with easy access for water enjoyment. There is room for a few kayaks on board for those that want to get right in the water. Conveniently, the table in the saloon can be moved into the cockpit for enjoyment outside.

Construction

The 37 was created with state of the art designs. A resin infusing process, fine fiberglass materials, vinylester resin, and Nidacore for parts above the waterline make the hull of this craft strong and light weight. To provide extra strength in high stress areas, Kevlar and carbon fiber materials are used. In case of grounding, the keel protects the prop and envelopes the shaft to prevent drag. For sea safety, handles are conveniently placed throughout the vessel. An optional generator can be placed under the cockpit. There is a high quality of woodwork, onboard systems, and fiberglass that enhance the craft throughout.
