Cuba - Yacht Charter

A NEW DESTINATION IS NOW AVAILABLE

← All charters

What do you know about Cuba? Revolution, Fidel Castro, rum, cigars? Of course there’s that, but it’s also an island of outstanding architecture, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, vast forested areas, clear waters of all shades of blue, breathtaking scenery, and miles of beaches. Since 1962, this country was unavailable for American tourists, but since times have changed you can now visit it on your luxury yacht and explore its distinctive culture, marvelous landscapes, and city life.

Cuba has changed very little since the 1960’s, so you have a chance to see the past – classic cars that can only be found in museums, beaches not surrounded by skyscrapers and resorts, and small houses with their simple charm. Hurry to book a charter while the island preserves its individuality.

There is also a lot to study in the coastal waters – sunken ships that have nested on the bottom of the ocean for centuries, tropical fish so colorful you’d think that they fell from a rainbow, and other sea creatures. Though the yachting infrastructure in Cuba is not developed, many charterers choose this destination as it offers a great and interesting experience. Havana was once a place of glamorous casinos and hotels and although those days are gone, it doesn’t mean there’s nothing to see in the city.

Unlike other Caribbean islands, Cuba doesn’t offer a luxurious setting for guests, but you are sure to enjoy its untouched nature and its people’s amicability and hospitality. Just relax and enjoy!

Travel program

Day 1Havana

Your yacht will dock at the Hemingway International Yacht Club in Havana. Tread in Hemingway’s footsteps, taste a mojito at La Bodequita del Medio and a daiquiri at La Floridita. Visit Hotel Nacional where photos of Mickey Mantle, Frank Sinatra, and Ava Gardner will remind you of the days when men wore hats and neckties and ladies looked ultra-feminine in bell-shaped skirts. Participate in an authentic salsa lesson at Club Salseando Chevere.

Day 2Havana to Bahia de Cabanas

Begin your day by circling the island, heading west, and stopping at the coves to snorkel and have lunch. The reefs are worth seeing as they present the natural beauty of untouched shores. In Bahia de Cabanas, once chosen by pirates as a shelter, you can enjoy your water toys. Envelop yourself in the beauty and tranquility of the quiet untouched waters of the bay. In the evening, have dinner in the open air and taste Cuban cuisine.

Day 3Bahia de Cabanas to Cayo Levisa

Farther to the west, you’ll reach Cayo Levisa. Where will you go? To the north, to rest on a beach, or to the south, to explore mangrove swamps? Time has stopped on this tiny island and it looks just like it did several hundred years ago, before Columbus discovered America.

Day 4Cayo Levisa to Cayo Jutias

Would you like to play as treasure hunter? Try to find hidden gems on the sunken Spanish galleons as there are many sunken ships to explore in the Cavo Jutias’ waters. Without a doubt, the soft sand and blue waters of Cayo Jutias are perfect for swimming and relaxing and will make for a spectacular day. Visit the black and yellow lighthouse, which is the only survivor of four towers built in Cuba during the U.S. occupation, where the keeper maintains a small museum and conducts tours of the tower. The cay is located northwest of the Bahia de Santa Lucia in Pinar del Rio and is accessible by the bridge in the nearby port of Santa Lucia. There is only one small bar, though it has great views of the ocean. Here you can have lunch or order a cocktail like a mojito or a Cuba Libre, or order a Cuban Cristal beer.

Day 5Cayo Jutias to Cayo di Buonavista

Go back to the wild and visit the national parks where nature is largely untouched. Clear Caribbean waters promise excellent snorkeling and the sandy beaches are so clean and comfortable, that you can’t avoid relaxing in the sun for a while. Enjoy Cayo di Buonavista’s calm and quietness while watching the sunset with a Cuban cigar in one hand and a mojito in the other.

Day 6Cayo di Buonavista to Cay Largo

You are offered a big choice of bays to swim in and beaches to sunbathe on. Tell the captain your preferences and he will advise you the most suitable ones. Visit Puerto Esperanza – a small village of fishermen who lives have hardly changed since the 1950’s.

Day 7Cay Largo to Havana

Your yacht will moor at the Hemingway International Yacht Club. Go sightseeing in Havana. This city dates back to the 17th century and has many historical places and museums to visit, like the Hemingway Museum where the writer’s typewriter and Pilar (his fishing yacht) are exhibited. Have a stroll along the old streets or watch people gathering on the squares on the waterfront wall, the Malecon, which is considered to be the local social club. Buy some cigars and rum and be ready to return home.
