French Caribbean - Yacht Charter

A PART OF FRANCE IN THE TROPICS

← All charters

The most visited island of the French Caribbean is St. Barthelemy, commonly known as St. Barts. In spite of its small size of just 8 square miles, it offers charterers a wide variety of entertainment, excursions, and activities. You can dine at restaurants reminiscent of those in Paris, shop in glamorous boutiques where you can buy from the latest collections of world famous designers, and rub shoulders with celebrities. The atmosphere on this small island exudes French chic from the moment your yacht comes up to the quay. Don’t be surprised if you run into Rod Stewart shirt shopping or Jimmy Buffett sitting at the next table in a café. Social life is centered in the port of Gustavia. The famous New Year’s Eve Yacht Hop is held in the French Caribbean, but if you want to catch it, be sure to book in advance.

Eden Rock Hotel and Nikki Beach are places that you shouldn’t miss. Visit Corossol and buy a straw, broad-brimmed hat or handbag. St. Martin consists of two islands and is a “worthy rival” to St. Barts as it has extensive shopping and gourmet restaurants. It’s also famous for its open-air barbecue restaurants, called “Lolo’s”. Many of them overlook the sea so you will get double the pleasure of having a perfect meal while enjoying the perfect seascape. The surrounding waters offer you awesome snorkeling while the beaches invite you to relax on the warm and soft sand.

Both St. Barts and St. Martin have excellent spas that offer you full relaxation. A mix of French lifestyle and tropical climate – that’s what the French Caribbean is all about.

Travel program

Day 1St. Barts.

After your arrival at the small airport on St. Barts, you’ll be driven to your luxury yacht which is moored in Gustavia. You’ll easily adapt to a new schedule with lunch being served well after noon and dinner at half past nine. Walk along the quay and drop into the numerous shops that are here.

Day 2Gustavia

Take a car ride around the town and suburbs. In the quiet small fishing village of Corossol you can buy one of their famous straw hats or bags and in St. James you can shop at the luxury boutiques and have lunch at one of the best restaurants like the Eden Rock Hotel or Nikki Beach. Leave time to visit a spa for a relaxing treatment. If you enjoy the nightlife, have fun until dawn at Le Ti.

Day 3Gustavia to Colombier

Give up this day to watersports and outdoor activities. After brunch is served aboard by your crew, head for the cove Colombier. It’s a clean and deserted beach that can only be reached by boat. The reef presents great conditions for snorkeling, though maybe you’ll like to test out the water toys instead. Meanwhile, your kids can explore the beach and look for shells. A late dinner under the black starry sky will be a fitting end to the day.

Day 4Colombier to Ile Fourchue

Continue to explore the non-civilized parts of the French Caribbean. An uninhabited island not far from St. Barts is home to turtles and rays. Would you prefer to play in the water or have a walk to ancient picturesque ruins that are on the hill? Spend the evening aboard as a sybarite and drink champagne soaking in a spa tub.

Day 5Ile Fourchue to Tintamarre

A tiny island hidden in the Caribbean shouldn’t be missed. At the beachfront, you’ll find a number of restaurants and bars where you can have a bite to eat after snorkeling. There is a unique place with healing mud that makes your skin soft and smooth, so get this free natural treatment and return to your yacht.

Day 6Tintamarre to Grand Case

St. Martin’s French coast is the perfect place for gourmets. There are so many different restaurants that it’ll be hard to choose one – do you prefer exquisite French cuisine or would it be better to taste shrimp and ribs cooked in the open air “creole style”? Of course, all dishes should be followed by French wine. Rest at Long Bay, afterwards.

Day 7Grand Case to Simpson Bay

On the way to Simpson Bay, try not to be frightened when your yacht passes under a bridge just inches above your head. Leave time to drop into Le West Indies Shopping Mall before going home. This journey was incredible, wasn’t it?
