Overview

Kept in the brackish waters of the northern Chesapeake Bay, highly customized, and loaded with factory options, this is the best opportunity to own the immensely popular Aquila 36.

As a power catamaran, the Aquila 36 gives the functionality and maneuverability of a smaller boat, but with all the benefits of a larger cruiser: two staterooms with two ensuite heads, a massive beam (14’ 1”), and enough seating to host a on a grand scale, all with only a 2’ draft. Get the legendary space and sea keeping capabilities that have caused power catamarans to soar in popularity.

With everybody’s busy schedules these days, the demand is for a boat that can do it all. Cruisers aren’t as comfortable for day trips and bow riders can’t sleep more than a couple in a small, compromised cabin. Why choose? Find a boat that can do both. No boat accomplishes this feat this better than the Aquila 36. With the ability to comfortably sleep five while still having the seating and amenities to entertain a crowd, the Aquila 36 leaves nothing for want.

This 36 was highly customized to provide fishing capability without sacrificing the exterior seating for the optional “Fishing Package”. Instead, a custom bolster with six rod holders was fabricated and mounted aft of the center platform. This not only creates a safer cockpit when underway, but situated centerline, aft of the outboards, it provides an unparalleled fishing spot. Single piece rod holder racks are mounted on the port and starboard side of the aft hardtop support (three rod holders per side).

Below is a list of all factory options, customizations, and significant features:

The beam is carried forward to the bow where a multitude of seating configurations can be set up. Forward facing seats can be converted effortlessly to a chaise lounge via a stowed, folding cushion. Aft facing seats can appear or disappear by sliding the backrests up or down. Couple these two conversions together, and either the port or starboard side, or both, can convert to a full sun lounge while still able to walk centerline, all the way up to the electric windlass.

The full height windshield can open to the bow easily via a locking lower door and opening hatch through the windshield. The walkthrough can be easily closed off to protect all cockpit passengers from the weather and wind while underway. The boat is safe to operate whether the passageway to the bow is open or closed.

The helm sits to starboard with a full compliment of electronics and instruments. Twin Raymarine Axiom Pro 12 chartplotters are networked together to display charts, sonar via the installed CHIRP transducer, engine information via Vessel View, or control of the onboard Fusion stereo. The throttles and joystick are ergonomically placed on the starboard side, so the captain can use either while still resting their elbow, allowing for more precise inputs both while docking or underway. A Mercury Vessel View display sits between the chartplotters so engine information is always at the captains fingertips, regardless of what page is displayed on the Raymarine units.

To port, a tall companion seat faces forward with a backrest that can easily slide forward to provide a backrest for guests seated around the cockpit table in the L-shaped sofa. The table can fold, be removed, or lowered to convert the entire sofa into a large bed, fully capable of sleeping another guest. Couple this with the cockpit enclosure and 16,000 BTU helm deck air conditioning/heating system, and the extra guest can not only sleep, but sleep comfortable in a climate-controlled space.

The outdoor galley sits opposite of the cockpit table, behind the helm. The galley has a large sink with Corian cover when more counterspace is desired. Under the sink is ample storage, while forward of that is a pullout stainless steel refrigerator/freezer. The countertop is rounded off with an induction Kenyon cooktop complete with a lid that is mirrored underneath.

The outdoor galley is complimented by a console on the starboard side of the transom that has another pullout stainless steel refrigerator/freezer, and a Kenyon electric grill with lid. The transom has a wide bench seat that can comfortably seat six. The middle part of the bench seat converts to a long, double-wide sun pad.

The platform is centerline, between the motors. It features a stout, teak boarding ladder with oversized stainless steel grab handles, the entire mechanism is easily hidden from view via a floor hatch. The custom fishing bolster is aft of the platform. Not only an ideal casting spot with six rod holders, but also an added safety feature as it encloses the platform. But, simply by removing a pin, the bolster separates into two pieces, each hinging out of the way to allow unencumbered access to the swim ladder and water. A rear facing aft transom bench seat keeps guests close to friends swimming, complete with a raw water washdown and wired stereo remote.

Below deck, the boat features two cabins, each entrance just aft of the full heigh windshield. Wide, easy-to-navigate steps enter each stateroom. Each bed sits to forward with a ceiling light, overhead reading light, fan, and bookshelf. A large passageway leads to the ensuite heads for each stateroom. Large heads, with the help of pullout faucets, easily convert to standup showers with teak floor grates. Three large hull side windows brighten each stateroom and head as they run the entire outboard length of the stateroom, head included. Easy to drop shades block out the light for privacy or sleeping.

Simply put, this boat can do it all from sleeping five comfortably, to entertaining on a grand scale
