Overview

The Aura was a limited production vessel designed by Dick Lazzara and built next to the Lazzara yard in Tampa, Florida.  This vessel has the upgraded 315hp Yanmar diesels with less than 500 hours and a beautiful teak transom. The classic lines are enhanced with a powder coated tower, fold down cockpit sunshade, transom door and newer Lee tournament outriggers. The current owner installed new electronics in 2014 to include Garmin7212 and Garmin 5208 and Yanmar digital gauges.  There is custom seating in the modified port console, new helm and bridge cushions along with underwater led lights.

The tower control station is fully equipped with it's own Garmin chartplotter and full engine controls. There is a custom buggy top that allows for full stand up room.

The cockpit is well equipped with in deck fish boxes and a transom live well.  Rod holders are plentiful and conveniently placed on the gunnels and tower legs. The custom padded leaning post for the helmsman is practical and maximizes deck space.  The cuddy cabin forward is comfortable and has a marine head, overhead hatch and electrical control panel.

This vessel is economical to operate with excellent performance and range.  The owner has another vessel and is not using Mary Jeanne and is ready to sell.

Vessel Overview

The Mary Jeanne is an excellent example of the limited production Aura 28 which was designed by Dick Lazzara and built next to the Lazzara Yachts facility in Tampa, Florida. There were less than ten of these vessels built.  They featured four full length longitudinal stringers for strong structural hull support, vacuum bagged balsa core in the hull and carbon fiber sandwiched into the laminate in the helm deck for added strength and reduced weight.

Although most of these vessels featured Volvo 223hp diesels, the Mary Jeanne has the more powerful Yanmar 315 hp diesels for increased performance.  With a plentiful 210 gallon fuel capacity this vessel has significant range and with a draft under 3 feet it can access shallow waters with ease.  These boats excel at fishing or diving capabilities with a large transom door, a transom live well, two in deck fish boxes, under gunnel rod storage and cockpit bolster padding.  There are ample rod holders including four in the gunnels, two in the helm leaning post and nine more across the back of the tower and on the tower legs.  A fold down cockpit sunshade provides additional cockpit shade when desired. The teak transom further contributes to the custom and classic appearance of this rare model.

The tower has oversized tower legs for a more robust structure and is powder coated along with the bow rail.  The Lee Outriggers are ceramic coated for added durability and were added by the current owner in 2104.  Additional upgrades and additions were made in 2014 including new Garmin Chartplotters, digital MAS Technologies engine monitors, new bridge and helm cushions, custom portside console seating and LED underwater lights. There is also a large cuddy type cabin with head and overhead hatch.

The owner has a larger vessel and is not using the Mary Jeanne so he is ready to sell.
