Overview
A stylish
boat with her rakish bridge and canted windows, the Bayliner 3988 is an
inexpensive family cruiser with roomy accommodations and a long list of standard
equipment. She is built on a shallow-deadrise modified-V hull with moderate beam
and prop pockets to reduce shaft angles. Inside, the two-stateroom, island bed
forward and a double berth in the small second stateroom that extends below the
elevated dinette in the salon. The master head is fitted with a bathtub which
provides sitting headroom only since it's located beneath the lower helm
station. The salon-with its U-shaped galley, settee, dinette and standard lower
helm-is well arranged. Additional features include wide sidedecks, a stylish
integral swim platform with shower and transom door, port and starboard cockpit
steps, and a comfortable flybridge with seating for six. Her Twin 330 hp Cummins
will cruise at 24 knots and reach 27-28 knots top.
