Vessel Description
The semi-custom Contender 36 is about as close as any serious angler can get to the ultimate high-performance outboard fish- boat. There are no compromises here; the Contender has more beam, more live-well space, more fuel, and more fish box capacity than any boat in her class.
Designed from the ground up for triple engines, the surprisingly weight-efficient deep-V hull of the 36 Open is quick to accelerate and delivers a fast and secure ride even in 4- to 5-foot seas. The cockpit, both forward and aft of the console, is huge with plenty of in-deck storage capacity.
Notable features include two oval 50-gallon transom live-wells, an integrated motor bracket, transom door, a walk-in console storage/head compartment, below decks rod lockers and four insulated fish boxes.
Optional coffin box forward can be raised for access to a huge storage area beneath. A powerful boat with the stamina to endure serious offshore punishment, triple 250hp Yamaha outboards cruise the Contender 36 Open at an easy 35 knots (close to 50 knots max).
Very nice and clean example of a 36' Open Contender. One of the best and most sought after hulls Contender boats ever produced.
This boat was solely lift kept until November of 2014 when she became an interim tender to a megayacht. She now has bottom paint and is stored in a high and dry marina in Dania Beach, FL.
