Overview
Fjord has always been known for producing exceptional motor boats. In its new designs, Fjord seeks to create something truly extraordinary. We commissioned Patrick Banfield for this project. He is one of the industry's most distinguished motor yacht designers. His numerous innovations have left a mark on recent motor yacht designs. We feel that hull design is a naval architect's signature. It defines a boat's durability and seaworthiness. Fjord 40 Open
has beside its extravagant use of space and stunning design - more than 10 m2 of sun beds, seating for up to 12 people around the convertible table, walk-around deck, a spacious pantry and wet bar for any occasion - and also accommodation for two in the cabin below.
The Fjord brand originated in Norway, where coveted cruising motor boats had been built since the 1950s. In 2007, Hanse Yachts AG took the helm and embarked on a consistent new direction: Away from the classic shape to create the avant-garde of pleasure boats.
As the first new yacht, the Fjord 40 Open set clear standards in the 40 ft class. Clear, angular, simple: This was the modern style the industry experts had been waiting for. At its premiere at the "boot" in Düsseldorf, the Fjord Open 40 was named "European Powerboat of the Year 2008".
