58' Grand Banks Motor Yacht LEGACY

The 58' Grand Banks Classic Motor Yacht, LEGACY, is a traditional flush-deck motor yacht with the distinctive styling and quality construction that Grand Banks products are known for.

She's built on a solid fiberglass semi-displacement hull with a wide beam, a graceful sheer, and a deep, prop-protecting keel. This luxurious yacht was clearly designed with long-range passage-making in mind, and her three-stateroom accommodations provide all of the necessary live-aboard comforts. The teak paneled main salon/dining area is a full 210 square feet with the galley conveniently located on the main deck level. Additional features include a pilothouse chart table and settee, a huge flybridge with extended bridge overhangs, secure walk-around side decks, a spacious engine room with standing headroom, and a whirlpool in the owner's head compartment. In spite of her size, Grand Banks maintains that the 58 MY was designed to be owner-operated, and all equipment is installed for easy access. Detroit Diesel 300 hp diesels are standard for an 8-knot cruising speed and a top speed of 11-12 knots. The cruising range at 8 knots is approximately 1,400 miles.

LEGACY has been owned by the current family for about 14 years with the same full time Captain for nearly 12 years. The boat has always maintained a very gentle schedule leaving plenty of time for constant maintenance.

Walkthrough

Entering from the spacious, covered aft deck via double doors, the large salon and galley are on one level. Access to the master stateroom is from a stairway on the port aft side. There is a desk and an L–shaped settee with a hi–lo table on the starboard side.  Forward on the starboard side is the galley with plenty of counter space and storage. The refrigeration and freezer are Grunert holding plate system with an additional Frigid Rigid fridge/freezer on the flybridge. On the forward port side of the salon is a Sony KDL 40S2010 flat screen TV, wine fridge, ice maker and bar area.

The master stateroom is separate from the other accommodations and is full beam and features a queen size berth, walk in closet and large bathroom with whirlpool tub.

Forward of the galley is the pilot house with two side doors, settee and chart table. The electronics have been upgraded to the integrated SIMRAD NSE 8 GPS/Plotter/Radar, SIMRAD AP 24 auto pilot, and SIMRAD IS20 depth and speed. The communications are an ICOM M120 VHF and a SEA 222 SSB. Controls for the HPS hydraulic bow thruster and Wesmar CPS 1000 stabilizers are in easy reach of the helm.

Down the forward companionway, at the base of the stairs, is a large area that has a side by side washer and dryer and storage. The access to the engine room is on the aft bulkhead and features full head room and easy access to all of the systems.

Forward on the starboard side is the guest stateroom with twin berths and an en-suite head and shower. The third cabin is the v-berth forward, also with an en-suite head and shower.

The flybridge is accessed either from the pilot house or the ladder on the aft deck. This area is massive for a vessel of this size and under the hard top, there is the helm with full instrumentation and duplicate electronics and controls. Just aft of the helm on the starboard side is a built in L–shaped bench seat with storage below and a varnished teak table. There are additional dunnage boxes for storage on this deck and the main deck forward. The tender, on the starboard side is a 13’ Boston Whaler with a 40 hp Yamaha 4 stroke outboard motor.

LEGACY shows and feels much larger than other vessels this size, the gentle use and constant maintenance is obvious at first site.
