Do you love that moment when you turn off the engine, you take a deep breath and all you hear is the slap of the water on the side of the hull? On Mojito, there is no 'turn off' moment.  Do you dream about leaving the dock just after dawn and gliding out of the marina in the chill of the early morning to the sounds of the wakening world, without the thud of an engine? Mojito makes that dream come true. Think Prius on the water - powered with an Elco E 4000 (40HP) electric motor, you can sneak in and out of marinas and anchorages without a sound! Bliss!

The current owners were drawn to the low noise, low maintenance, 'green' aspects of the Hunter 360e Electric. Propulsion batteries charge in just a few hours, so she is always ready to go.  A typical diesel engine converts power at around 25-30% efficiency, electric converts at around 92% so what little fuel you need to use lasts a long time. The near frictionless rotation of the electric engine also means less energy lost to heat and noise. Solar panels and a Superwind 350 wind turbine top off the house batteries.

The owners chose the hybrid because they didn’t want the “range anxiety” of pure electric. While the generator is very rarely used except on long trips with no wind, it’s a comfort to know it’s there.   If the motor needs to be charged, the Volvo Penta generator kicks in automatically when the battery level reaches 20%. Range under power is 800 - 1100 miles on 35 gallons of diesel.

The interior is clean, spacious and comfortable with a 2-cabin, 1-head layout.  The teak clad drop-down transom allows easy access from the dinghy or from the water while at anchor and Mojito has the upgraded teak package with teak rear cockpit seats, swim platform and 'perch seats' on the stern rail.

Mojito has all the upgrades...
