"Glory Days" has been very well maintained and has detailed records that include all service completed at recommended intervals with parts numbers and date of service. In addition there are detailed trip logs and fuel consumption records.
The 40 Mainship was a huge up grade over the old 390. All stainless hardware, railings, and hatches. A larger galley and the addition of the dinette in the salon made the 40 a much more comfortable cruiser.
Starting in the aft cockpit a large transom fish box/storage area spans 3/4 of the transom. A walk thru transom door gives easy access to the very large swim platform. Access to the expansive fly bridge is up a curved stairway. There is an access door under the steps for storage. A large hatch is in the aft deck for easy access to the Lazzerette.
Entrance into the salon is effortless thru the large double aft doors. The galley is along the starboard side with Norcold refrigerator and freezer. (A Vizio 20" T.V. is over the refrigerator with a Bose Stereo). The galley has Corian countertops, a built-in coffee maker, Princess 3 burner electric stove and oven, "Rival" microwave and double stainless steel sink. There are ample storage cabinets above and below the counters.
The lower station is to starboard forward with an easy access side door. The portside of the salon has a sleeper sofa with bottle storage in after end. Forward on the port side is the dinette that seats four.
Going forward down the companionway the two forward staterooms and the head is accessed at the below decks landing. There is access to the storage area under the steps which are hinged.
Turning to port there is full standing headroom in the guest stateroom with twin berths (storage under) a hanging locker opening port. Over both berths are two storage cabinets. Across the companion way is the "Day" access or guest access to the head with vanity and enclosed shower. There is an opening stainless steel port and Bomar over head stainless steel hatch.
Going forward you enter into the master cabin with center line berth. There are two drawers under this berth which lifts for additional storage forward. There is a center escape hatch with screens and a "black out" shade. Two opening ports give ample cross ventilation. There are storage cabinets port and starboard with shelving(removable). A 12 volt fan is hard wired to port. To starboard is a private access to the head and shower. CO alarm is hard wired in this compartment.
The engine room has had excellent continual maintenance(records available). There is an exceptional amount of room all around this engine and easy access to the electrical and mechanical equipment (see photos). Generator is an 8 KW Kohler (8EOZ) with 820 hrs. It is located in the Lazzerette forward end - in a sound shield. There is an oil change system for generator and engine.
Up the stairway aft you arrive at the most expansive fly bridge in the industry on a 40 foot trawler. Stainless steel welded railing all around and encasing the stairs. A fiberglass circular table aft and a "Summer Kitchen" grace the aft section of this fly bridge. The mast is hinged and will lay down giving additional clearance when necessary.
Going forward into the complete enclosed bridge area - there is seating for a crowd of 10! There is a "flip up" table hard mounted center line for entertaining. The helm console folds down for easy access to all wiring.
There is clear visibility from the lower helm - all around.
Lower helm has:
There is a hatch in the cabin sole below the helm for storage and access to the A/C system.
