Overview
MCP Yachts 106 LE
Discover the remarkable MCP Yachts 106 LE, a stunning superyacht that embodies the essence of luxury and performance. Crafted by the esteemed Brazilian builder MCP Yachts, this vessel is designed for those who seek speed, efficiency, and an impressive range for ocean voyages. The 32.31-meter Mars, part of the Limited Edition series, showcases bold, contemporary lines that will captivate those with a taste for the extraordinary. With a top speed of 25 knots and exceptional fuel efficiency, this yacht is perfect for both exhilarating adventures and leisurely cruising.
MCP Yachts embarked on this project by closely examining the desires of yacht owners, establishing key criteria for the design. "Our primary goal was to maximize natural light throughout the vessel, utilizing ample glass," explains Manoel Chaves, the owner of MCP. "Thanks to innovative technology, we achieved this despite the weight of glass." The vision was to create an environment where the sea is always visible from within. The inclusion of a Portuguese bridge and a raised pilothouse further enhances the yacht's appeal.
At first glance, Mars presents a striking aesthetic. The glazed bulwarks along the side decks harmonize with the floor-to-ceiling windows in the main saloon, offering uninterrupted views of the horizon. As the yacht transitions to its full form, the bulwark's design elegantly integrates with the expansive windows, creating a unique and stylish appearance.
The owner of Mars played a pivotal role in the yacht's development. He visited the shipyard when the hull was nearly finished, specifically seeking an aluminum yacht, which he deemed superior for its efficiency. This choice influenced the custom hull color of Mars, beautifully highlighting the metal's allure. The aluminum construction also provides a double bottom, accommodating black water and fuel oil tanks, strategically positioned to maintain a low center of gravity and ensure easy access.
MCP Yachts embraced the challenge of tailoring Mars to the owner's specifications. "He benefited from a shorter wait time for the final product, approximately 12 months," notes Chaves. The owner customized the interior based on his extensive charter experiences, making requests that ranged from simple closet handles to the complete decor of five luxurious suites, including a master suite on the main deck and four guest suites below.
The master suite's design reflects the preferences of the owner and his wife, inspired by their experiences on other superyachts. It features a study equipped with two computers for work, a TV, a spacious walk-in wardrobe, a cozy seating area, and his-and-hers bathrooms with a lavish rain shower at the center.
Initially, the galley was positioned on the port side of the main deck. However, since the owner primarily uses Mars for day cruises, he requested a reconfiguration of the crew and galley areas. As the crew does not stay for extended periods, a dedicated captain's suite was not included.
The expansive galley, designed to serve guests on two to three-day excursions, now occupies the space where the captain's cabin was originally located. Forward of this area, the crew quarters provide essential accommodations, featuring two cabins with triple bunks for up to six crew members and a shared bathroom with separate shower and toilet facilities. A pantry on the main deck, connecting to the galley below, facilitates seamless service on board.
The layout clearly delineates crew and service areas on the port side, while socializing occurs on the starboard side. Guests enjoy complete freedom and privacy throughout Mars, with access to a bar, wine cellar, dining area, and dayhead adjacent to the main saloon. A 75-inch TV is discreetly integrated into a panel behind the dining table, ensuring the owner remains connected to his business with a total of 14 screens throughout the yacht. A sliding door from the dining area leads to a drop-down balcony, featuring a unique glazed floor that offers stunning views of the sea beneath.
Mars adheres to the international standards set by classification society RINA and boasts full automation, allowing all operations to be controlled via tablet or smartphone. A remote control system enables navigation from any location on deck, including engine engagement and disengagement, as well as bow and stern thruster operations. Remarkably, the yacht can be started, maneuvered out to sea, and docked while the operator remains onshore.
The raised pilothouse provides an expansive view for navigation. A sophisticated software system developed by the shipyard records navigation data and monitors all equipment functions (engines, generators, navigation lights, batteries, pumps, etc.) from a centralized location, ensuring seamless interaction with the entire yacht.
The flybridge serves as an entertainment haven, featuring a table for eight, a full bar with barbecue, a luxurious spa pool with a waterfall, water misters, and a spacious sunbed for relaxation. The beach club is equally impressive, complete with a full kitchen behind a sit-down bar, a dayhead, a shower, and a sauna for shared enjoyment, all accessible through a large automatic door at the stern.
Comfort on board was a top priority, and sound insulation was meticulously addressed. The engine room is thoroughly soundproofed to minimize noise below the waterline.
Powered by two 1,825hp Caterpillar C32 Acert V12 engines, Mars boasts an impressive cruising range of 4,000 nautical miles at a speed of 10.5 knots, consuming only 87 liters of fuel per hour—a testament to its efficiency. When the need for speed arises, it can reach a fast cruising speed of 20 knots.
