Overview

When it comes to offshore performance the 5000 Vee takes you to a grand scale. The 5000 started it all for Nor-Tech and has evolved over the years into legendary status. In fact the 5000 holds the world record for non- stop from Key West to Cancun and Cancun to Key West. The 5000 remains the benchmark as the ultimate large offshore hi-performance boat of choice. The 5000V set the record twice… 2003 and 2008.




Von Vessel

This 5000V Diesel Nor-Tech had an extensive refit in 2016. The premise of this refit was to take a proven fast and efficient hull with economical diesel power and change it from a recreational platform to a commercial standard charter boat with luxury comforts. This 5000V is unlike any other. The 2016 refit includes the professionally engineered and fabricated lightweight canopy. The structure is TIG welded marine aluminum extrusion, epoxy coated and painted with matching Awl Grip yacht paint. Glass windows and windshield panels are light gray tinted Solar-E Glass. The custom access hatch for the forward deck folds back out of the way when open and seals when close with high grade SS latches.  There are marine windshield wipers and fresh water washer jets on each side of the windscreen. Multi-color overhead LED lighting was incorporated in canopy for cockpit illumination. The whole structure weighs less than 200 pounds and keeps the helm area weather tight and air conditioned. The vessel has low hours and an up to date engineering maintenance logs.

2016 REFIT

Full Specifications

The engines and generator were inspected and the following services performed:

                1. Cooling systems flushed and heat exchanges inspected.

                2. All fuel filters renewed.

                3. Hoses and hose clamps renewed as needed.

                4. Valves adjusted.

                5. Injectors tested

                6. Generator injection plunger renewed.

                7. Raw water pumps renewed with new impellers.

                8. Alternators and starters tested and renewed as necessary.

                9. All new engine zincs

Mechanical/Electrical:

  • The boat was disassemble to gain access to wiring and mechanical rigging
  • All safety equipment checked and renewed per USCG Standards. Waste Placards are visible.
  • Wiring was renewed and upgraded as needed
  • The Fire System was renewed, upgraded and certified per USCG Standards for charter
  • Steering system was upgraded to an electric hydraulic pump.
  • Hydraulic rams for steering and trim were renewed with new seals and hoses.
  • Hydraulic systems were flushed and fluids renewed

Electronics:

  • Stereo and A/V  systems were renewed and upgraded to latest technology including Bluetooth
  • Garmin Nav System was updated with new software and a Weather Package
  • Lighting systems were upgraded to more efficient LED technology
  • The underwater lighting was renewed with LED’s and more LED lights were added

Exterior/Interior:

  • Exterior upholstery was renewed
  • Sun Pads were designed and added on the foreword deck.
  • Air conditioning system was checked and serviced.
  • Air conditioning duct work and plenum was renewed. New duct work and vents were installed for helm area.
  • Decks were refinished with non-skid, color matching coatings.
  • Interior and exterior paint finishes were renewed and polished.
  • Outdrives were acid washed, sanded, epoxy coated and painted with color matching Awl Grip. All wearable items replaced
  • The majority of the stainless steel hardware throughout the boat was refinished and machine polished to a mirror shine.
  • Anchor windlass was rebuilt with a new motor and tested. Ground tackle renewed with a plow and Danforth anchor system

2017 Maintenance Includes:

  • 2017 new batteries
  • 2017 Fresh oil and filters in mains and generator
  • 2017 Check and renewed engine zincs
  • 2017 All new zincs on outdrives and trim tabs
  • 2017 The boat rests on land detailed and serviced 100% for the new owner.
  • Complete day to day Engineering Log for the refit and maintenance documentation is available.
