Overview

SOLUTION, an OA 450, is a fine example of one of the most successful offerings from Ocean Alexander or for that matter from any boat builder in this size and class.  She is hull #6 of the 450's and was built new in 2000 for her original owners.  Experienced cruisers and owners of several previous boats they were involved in every aspect of her build, outfitting, and layout design, including the engine room.

They cruised her extensively over the years mostly around Florida and the Bahamas where they would spend long periods of time in comfort "on the hook" made possible by their knowledgeable input during SOLUTION's build.  They also spent occasional months on the Chesapeake and its tributaries.

She is offered for sale by her current owners who purchased her from the original owners in early 2015.  They have updated her electronics, tender, canvas, and other soft goods while cruising her mostly on Florida's West Coast.  Also knowledgeable owners they have continued to give SOLUTION the same TLC as her original owners.

Her CAT 3116TA's have only 2043 hours on them and have always been maintained on schedule including the CAT 2000 hour service in 2015 and because of the original owner's extensive involvement in the engine room and below decks design everything is easy to access here and in the large Lazarette.

Her 2-stateroom, 2-head layout with separate stall shower is ideal for the cruising couple or individual who has the occasional guests aboard.  Her upgraded 10 kW Northern Lights gen-set (625 hours) easily handles the custom 220V "tropical air conditioning package" (24K BTU for salon/galley and guest stateroom with a dedicated 16K BTU system for the master stateroom and heads) while still running all other AC electrical needs.

SOLUTION also has many other upgrades such as granite counters in the galley and heads, Ultraleather seating surfaces in the salon, custom teak frame salon sliding screen door aft, extra/enlarged storage cabinets throughout, washer/dryer, and the list goes on as you read through the listing.

Add this to the smooth, soft, dry riding Ed Monk, Jr. design and you have one of the finest cruising yachts ever built in the 42' to 48' range.  She offers the ride, roominess, and comfort of a 50' + boat with the economy and easy of handling of her more manageable size.

SOLUTION is the solution for the yachtsman or cruising couple who wants all the comforts of a larger boat for an affordable price.

The current owners cruising plans have changed and they are moving to a different style boat so a quick sale is desired.
