Overview

CUPANI (previously Albula & Turmoil) is an expedition-style motor yacht built by Royal Denship. Her current owner has been using CUPANI for marine research voyages, but for her next owners the possibilities are endless thanks to her ample accommodations, range of equipment, and robust design.

Her large boat deck can accommodate tenders up to 32 feet with a single point lift crane of SWL of 10,000 lbs. The bridge aft deck also serves as the heli deck. This bridge deck aft is equipped with a crane of SWL 2,000 lbs and can also be used as overflow storage for smaller boats. CUPANI has a variety of work areas that include a wet lab, lecture room/office, and large lazerette with wet work area. She also includes a drop-down swim platform, large dive locker with compressor, and ample storage areas.

She provides accommodations for up to 16 guests in 8 staterooms and 14 crew. She features an owner’s deck with a large full beam suite with two separate ensuites. The owner’s also have their own private deck aft. Another guest cabin can be found on the owner’s deck but the remaining 6 cabins are located on the accommodation deck. The cabins are comprised of three cabins with two twin beds, two cabins with a king bed and one with a double bed. All the cabins have their own ensuites.

CUPANI's bridge and navigation systems are as per International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) requirements. The vessel has X and S band radars, a Transas electronic navigational chart system, and a Furuno deep water sounder and sonar. While she is not ice-classed or ice-rated, her hull and frame spacing are ice-strengthened and meet 1D requirements. She can operate in the vicinity of ice with due navigational caution. With a gross tonnage of 1,428 tonnes, CUPANI is powered by twin Cat 3516B engines (2,260 hp) and has a range of approximately 6,500 nautical miles at 15 knots.
