Overview

BELLA VITA is an inspired design of a gracious Selene Ocean Trawler.  She is molded as a Next Generation Selene with improved hull design, efficiency.  Even standing room in the engine room.  All hydraulic systems, gourmet galley, elaborate and comprehensive navigation and entertainment electronics.

Welcome Aboard

An exceptional and impressive vessel by any standard, this SELENE 58’s CE Category A* Standard designation “Ocean”, further benefits from the new Next Generation Hull Design developed to enhance performance.  This new hull design found on the later model Selene Long Distance Trawlers creates measurable increases in hull speed, fuel economy and head room in the engine compartment.  This level of attention to efficiency and sea worthiness in no way diminishes the warmth of the thoughtfully designed and beautifully finished interior for which SELENE is known.

BELLA VITA is immediately impressive from all angles, with graceful and classic lines that characterize all Selenes.

All hydraulic Wesmar stabilizers and get-home drive provide comfortable and dependable performance. Her articulated rudder contributes to her efficiency on long legs and added maneuverability in close quarters.  Both bow and stern thrusters further simplify docking and tight maneuvering.

Maintenance and service is well-documented by SeaKits' Marine Maintenance Management System.  BELLA VITA is well cared-for.

*(Designed for extended voyages where conditions may exceed wind force 8 (Beaufort scale) and significant wave heights of 4 m and above but excluding abnormal conditions, and vessels largely self-sufficient)

Boarding The Yacht

Whether you are assigned a traditional or floating dock BELLA VITA is easily boarded from side gates into the cockpit both port and starboard, from the swim platform through a gate in the transom,or onto the Portuguese bridge via a high gate on the starboard side.

The pilothouse may be entered directly via Dutch doors on both the port and starboard side.  Access to the bridge is also from the cockpit via a gracious circular stairway,in addition to bridge access directly from the pilothouse.

As you board you will notice  a brilliantly finished teak cap rail that runs the perimeter of the cockpit and side decks (Custom covers protect the cap rail as needed.), and that cockpit, side decks, and Portuguese bridge decks are teak.Foredeck and flybridge decks are non-skid molded FRP.

Salon

From the cockpit one enters the salon through Diamond Seaglaze dutch door.  To starboard one immediately will see two leather barrel chairs with ottomans that double duty as storage spaces.  Cabinetry behind and adjacent conceals full entertainment electronics including satellite TV, surround sound, DVD and AM/FM/CD all augmenting the main feature a 42” Samsung TV.  To Port is the L-shaped settee provides seating to a high low teak table which can seat up to eight people for dinner.

A dedicated reverse-cycle Cruisair system serves the salon and galley.
Apple computer attached to 42" TV for reading emails.  Computer also has hundreds of songs an movies stored within.

Galley

Forward of the salon area and to Starboard is the galley.  With spacious granite counter tops you have a four burner propane stove cooktop and oven, GE Advantium micro/convection oven, Fisher Paykel dishwasher, and garbage disposal to help the chef feel right at home.  A large Sub-Zero refrigerator with two freezer drawers, and custom cabinetry round up the galley affording extensive storage.

Pilothouse

Three steps up and forward of the galley you enter the heart of navigational operations.  (A full list of electronics is described in the features section.)

BELLA VITA’s Pilot House with 270 degree visibility can also be accessed via Port and Starboard Dutch doors which also serve as access to the side and forward decks.

An impressive LaBroc captain’s seat is centered to provide the captain access to all systems for navigation, communication, and operation of the yacht.

Just aft and to Starboard is a circular settee with cabinetry, shelving and chart drawers above and behind.  The table makes the settee ideal for two or more to dine or socialize.

For both safety and protection from the elements a companionway leads up to the flybridge.

Flybridge

The flybridge is accessed by either the inside companionway from the pilothouse, or by a circular stairway from the cockpit, serves as an entire second space for navigation.  Two helm chairs command a 360-view of everything going on around the ship.  Redundant controls and instrumentation gives the captain all the tools to run safely and confidently.  Just aft to starboard, a large L-shaped settee with lots of storage beneath the seats and a pedestal mounted table offers seating for relaxing, refreshments, or outside dining.  A surface-mounted Magma gas grill is atop the cabinetry, along with a fresh water sink.

A full beam hardtop provides protection over the entire helm, cabinetry, and seating areas.  It supports the custom mast that mounts electronics antennas including radar, satellite TV dome, a digital local TV antenna dome, FLIR camera, and GPS.  Local TV HD dome mounted along side DirecTV dome.  The mast is hinged, enabling the reduction of air draft to less than 20' for passage through lower bridges.

A 1500 lb. Steelhead davit easily launches the 12' Bull Frog dinghy with its 35 hp Honda 4-stroke engine. The dinghy is itself equipped with cushions, and internal fuel tank.

At the aft end of the bridge is mounted an aft-facing closed circuit TV camera that is selected on the pilothouse displays.

Accommodations

Accommodations (3) are accessed via either of two circular staircases leading down from the pilothouse or salon.  They include the Master Stateroom with ensuite head, VIP Stateroom with head that doubles as the day head, and a third stateroom/office.

Access to ships water and waste tanks, sumps, and such is from the sole of both staterooms and the hallway.

Master Stateroom

The full-width master stateroom is located amidships.  A queen-size berth is centrally positioned with cabinetry on each side. To starboard are beautifully crafted hanging lockers and drawers.  Light enters the space through opening ports behind custom Shoji screens which slide out of the way or can be removed by lifting if needed.

The master head is to port.  The shower is large. On the port side is a granite vanity with the sink built-in and storage below and to each side.

The forward bulkhead hides another hanging locker and recessed TV driven by Apple TV. Owners’ combination safe in master cabin.

VIP Stateroom

Forward is the VIP stateroom with comfortable walk-around queen-sized berth.

Cabinetry on both port and starboard includes cedar-lined hanging lockers, lots of shelving for books, drawers and 8 smaller lockers for more storage.  A flush-mounted TV and Apple TV is recessed into the aft bulkhead.
