147' Sensation Motor Yacht MARATANI X Overview
147' Sensation Motor Yacht MARATANI X was custom built to DNV Classification (Det Norske Veritas), by Sensation Yachts, New Zealand and delivered in 2006. Originally designed as a 136’ Tri Deck to Evan K. Marshall’s interior and exterior styling and Naval Architect Phil Curran’s plans, it was soon extended and became a 147’ Quad Deck to meet the owner’s desire for a master suite on the third deck level. Sporty design, sleek exterior profile, enclosed top deck and unique stern area combine to give the yacht a great deal of interior volume. An elevator facilitates movement between deck levels.
Accommodations for 12 owners and guests in six en suite cabins: Master suite on upper deck; VIP on main deck; two doubles and two twins on the lower deck. The interior is finished in cherry, burl and marble, with brass accents throughout the yacht.
Main deck features a semi-circular wood bar with high gloss finish surrounded by 5 leather bar chairs aft in the salon. Accent lighting built into the bar’s base set off the black marble flooring and marble bar top. Moving forward, a comfortable conversation area features two curved sofas with oval glass table between and oval mirrored accents overhead. Extra large windows port and starboard afford plenty of natural light and window seats provide extra seating. Continuing forward is the dining area with seating for 12 and a separate cabin outfitted for multi-media entertainment. The en suite VIP stateroom is forward room with a private office. The Upper deck features MARATANI X’s very spacious, full beam master suite, located just aft of the pilothouse and captain’s cabin, with fabulous sea views and opening to its own private aft deck.
The Sky deck is home to a skylounge with panoramic views 40 feet above the water. Its enclosed salon features two curved leather sofas and two occasional chairs with skylights above. Access to the open areas fore and aft, including entertainment and sunning areas, lounge chairs, and Jacuzzi hot tub plus an additional aft deck.
Walkthrough
Entry is either from the side-boarding ladder or aft passarelle on the transom. The swim platform or “beach” is great for swimming and diving, tender access and boarding. A garage/lazarette door hydraulically operated allows for easy access to the engine room and for launching the tender.
Stairways port and starboard lead up to the Aft Deck and feature unique handrails. These as well as all handrails on the yacht’s three exterior decks are 24-kt gold plated. The aft deck has a large dining table with chairs. An engine room access door is located port for safe and easy access while underway. Port and starboard side decks lead forward to the full beam VIP Stateroom with stairs then going to the upper deck over the full beam VIP. Further forward, a walkway leads to the fore and bow decks.
From the aft deck, the Salon is entered through curved stainless steel automatic-opening doors where a large bar area welcomes guests. There are curved sofas facing inward just forward and two occasional chairs. Bench seating placed beneath the large side windows offers extra guest seating and fabulous views. A circular stairway is just forward and surrounds the elevator in the forward section of the salon that accesses three decks. Gold-plated fixtures adorn the skylight-topped elevator. Forward and starboard is the entranceway from the deck with double opening doors and a marble floored foyer. A circular stairway leads upstairs and down, and the private, soundproof, entertainment room with multi-media equipment is just to the left. Moving forward next is the Dining Salon with table and chairs to seat 12 for sumptuous dining. Continuing forward on the main deck level is a stairway to the guest accommodations below, with Crew Quarters entry and Galley just forward, and Day Head. The day head features Rolex faucets. Moving forward into the VIP Suite all the way forward on the main deck, there is an office with desk, cabinetry, L-shaped sofa and windows providing a great view, followed by a large closet. Moving forward into the stateroom, there is a king size bed. The stateroom is finished with teak paneled walls. The en suite VIP bathroom has double sinks, Jacuzzi tub, separate water closet, toilet and separate shower, with additional hanging lockers port and starboard.
The circular stairway off the dining salon leads below to the four Guest Staterooms, each with en suite bathrooms, TVs and entertainment systems. There is a bar area for guests in the foyer just under the stairway. Staterooms port and starboard feature twin lower beds. The port stateroom also features a Jacuzzi tub. Moving aft are two additional guest staterooms each with queen size beds.
Moving up this same stairway to the upper deck, the Captain’s Cabin is found with private bathroom. The Helm area is just forward with teak and holly floor, captain’s chair and bench seating behind.
From the Salon on the main deck, the stairway surrounding the elevator leads up to the Master Suite uniquely located aft on this upper deck level affording privacy and excellent views. It can also be accessed from the elevator. A sitting room is adjacent to the master stateroom. The master has a king size island bed, dressers against both the port and starboard sides, and vanity to port. The full beam en suite bathroom is forward with all amenities including Jacuzzi tub and shower. The master features a study/lounge separated by a sliding door and half-wall cabinet with loveseats, chairs and large wrap-around windows. In addition, there is a private aft deck.
The upper-most Sky Deck where the Skylounge is located is accessible by the elevator. There is a day head, and a door leads to the forward sun deck complete with outdoor Jacuzzi tub. The Skylounge is appointed with sofas, chairs, and TV, sun cushions for lounging, and a private dining area aft to complete the fourth deck.
Of special note, it is reported that all of the faucets, sinks, showers and equipment were made by Rolex.
