Overview
SHAHA is a beautifully kept, “classic” style motor yacht. Often we call it “gentleman’s yacht”, but she is really ideal for families and for adults as well. Having owned her for over 12 years, the present owner has done a wealth of upgrades and of course maintenance.
Of major and recent work can be mentioned full external repaint in 2011/12, which included stripping her hull back to the bare steel, replacing some steel plates etc, upgrading to zero speed stabilization (which also meant installing larger area fins) and all electrical systems renewed (incl new boards, of course).
Otherwise her winter work list is extensive, as always, and nothing is left to chance wrt keeping up with engine makers, registry and class demands, as well as “creature comfort” and aesthetics. This winter this includes new teak on the raised foredeck, a recent motor moved outside of the tender crane base (to avoid any humidity), a hydraulically operated tv dome base (to avoid any viewing “shade”), etc.
You will be particularly pleased with the general upkeep of SHAHA and rightly feel that here is a classic yacht of good capacity and wonderful atmosphere which has been respectfully looked after over a long period. This is no hurried sale of a recently refitted yacht, but a considered disposal of a continuously cared for “family member”.
SHAHA is ready to go – from the current owner and into a new ownership - whilst always being readily maintained to serve the present owner and the discerning charterer, as well.
Accommodations
Up to 12 guests in 6 staterooms and 5-7 crew in 4 cabins.
The whole of the accommodation is kept in a classic and maritime style, with ample use of wood panels and many original features, whilst every floor is carpeted.
Saloon and dining room:The saloon and dining room is in one, wonderfully open space which fully witness also to the generous beam of the yacht. Near the double door to the aft deck there is a bar. All soft furniture was recently re-upholstered and the dining table seats 12 in comfort.
Other Living Areas:There is a visitor’s sofa on the bridge.
The upper (sun) deck is vast, as the tenders are carried forward, with both loose and fixed furniture, both for dining and for sun bathing. There is a fly bridge steering position, but the deck is really for owners and friends to relax on.
Wonderfully proportioned stairs link this deck with the main aft deck, where there are two tables, linkable with a plate, fixed benches and loose chairs, for dining or relaxing.
Owner stateroom: There is not really a dedicated “master cabin”, since the yacht instead carries up to 12 guests in 6 cabins. The forward 2 of the 4 aft cabins can even now be combined and if someone really wanted a larger cabin, then these two would make a spacious, permanent or flexibly convertible space.
VIP Stateroom: There are 2 twin cabins forward.
Guest stateroom: Aft there are a total of 4 more cabins, 1 of which are permanent double and 3 are convertible doubles or twins.
Crew Accommodation: Forward on the lower deck there are 2 double cabins (one “boys” and one “girls”) and 1 single cabin for the Chief (which can be changed/rebuilt to a double, too), 2 toilets & showers. The Captain's cabin is separate and situated aft of the bridge, with a big double bed, toilet & shower.
