MOONSHINE III is an all fiberglass constructed 68-foot motor yacht designed and built by the West Bay SonShip Company of Delta, British Columbia in 2006. She is powered with twin MTU 10V2000 common rail fresh water cooled  engines with 1400 HRS.  She is equipped with (2) Northern Lights 25KW Generators. She has a raked bow, transom stern with swim platform, semi-enclosed flybridge with fiberglass hardtop and isinglass enclosure. She comes with a 2008 Nautica 13.5 ft hard bottom inflatable with a 60HP Yamaha 4-stroke.

Foredeck Arrangement and Equipment

The teak overlay decks of the aft deck are protected by waist high boxed bulwarks with polished stainless steel rails on welded stanchions. The aft deck is protected overhead by the boat deck overhang supported via a pair of polished stainless steel stanchions. In the overhang are flush lights. On top of the bulwarks are polished stainless steel cleats. Aft port and starboard are opening gate sections and a handrail for boarding. At each opening are a set of Marquipt tide ride stairway brackets. A 6-tread anodized aluminum Marquipt sea stair was seen in use during these inspections. Port and starboard aft are stairways down to the swim platform. In the stairway openings are polished stainless steel hinged gates. Centerline aft is a built-in settee with manufactured stone top table on slides on a pair of fixed pedestal mounts. At the table are three loose deck chairs. Port side forward is a bar area with a manufactured stone top and under mount stainless steel sink and faucet. Underneath is a storage cabinet and a U-Line model #ULN-29RWH-00 undercounter refrigerator. Centerline forward is a polished stainless steel framed dogged and gasketed two-part hinged glass door into the salon. Starboard side forward is a polished stainless steel ladder with fiberglass molded nonskid tread ladder up to the sliding hatch to the boat deck. Port and starboard in the back of the house are lockers with flip out port, starboard, and aft driving stations. Centerline in the deck is a teak overlay flush hatch down into the crew and lazarette area center passageway. There is a stainless steel ladder provided. Aft to starboard is a Magnum stainless steel grill with propane storage underneath

The molded nonskid decks of the foredeck are protected by low boxed bulwarks and waist high polished stainless steel handrails on stainless steel stanchions with extensions down the side decks. In the bow is an integrated molded fiberglass anchor pulpit with stainless steel anchor chute, nylon rollers, and vertical anchor windlass. On top of the bulwarks port and starboard are stainless steel cleats. In the pulpit bow rail on centerline is an integrated stainless steel jack staff. Centerline on deck is a fiberglass hinged hatch on pneumatic ram assist into the chain bin. Off the back of the pulpit are Jabsco quick connect potable water and raw water wash down connections. The raised trunk cabin top is finished in a molded nonskid. In the cabin top are two Lewmar aluminum framed dogged and gasketed hinged Plexiglas hatches leading down into the forward accommodations.

A single step down leads to the molded nonskid decks of the side decks. These decks are protected by the same low boxed bulwarks from the bow and the stainless steel rails and on stanchions. There are bolted stainless steel cleats on top of the bulwark tops. Inside the bulwarks are deck level lights. The after sides of the decks are partially protected overhead by the housetop overhang. There are flush lights fitted in the overhead. Port and starboard on the forward house sides are alarm monitored sliding lockable doors into the pilothouse. Opposite these doors are boarding gates in the rails. At each boarding gate are Marquipt sea stair mounts. On the decks port and starboard aft are diesel fuel fills. In the deck starboard side midship is a water fill. Forward is a waste pump out fitting.

Flybridge

The molded nonskid decks of the flybridge are protected overhead by a fiberglass hardtop extending forward from a fiberglass arch. The flybridge area is air conditioned. In the hardtop are flush lights. In the arch sides are a set of stereo speakers. The flybridge has a Plexiglas reverse windshield with stainless steel frame. The perimeter of the flybridge is within a clear isinglass enclosure with removable and zip out panels. On centerline forward is a fully instrumented helm with stainless steel destroyer type wheel and Pompanette helm and companion chairs on stainless steel adjustable pedestal mounts with stainless steel footrests. To starboard is a hinged dogged and gasketed Plexiglas hatch on pneumatic ram assist to a curved stairway down to the galley and pilothouse area. Seen mounted forward on the pilothouse top is an ACR model #RCL100 remote searchlight and a Kahlenberg dual trumpet chrome plated bronze pneumatic horn. Aft of the helm to port is an L-shaped seating area with manufactured stone table on slides on a pair of anodized aluminum adjustable pedestal mounts. To starboard is a wet bar with manufacturer stone top and stainless steel under mount sink. Below is storage and a U-Line icemaker.

Boat Deck

Aft of the flybridge and flybridge seating is the boat deck. The molded nonskid decks of the boat deck are protected by low molded toe rails and removal stainless steel hoop style waist high handrails. Port and starboard forward are molded fiberglass engine room ventilation boxes. Forward to starboard is a storage locker below the flybridge seating.

To starboard is a sliding hatch and ladder down to the aft deck. Forward of this hatch is a high pressure wash connection and potable water washdown bib. To starboard is a category I GPIRB. To starboard is a Revere 6-person canistered life raft on hydrostatic release.

Seen stowed athwartships on the boat deck is the davit and  tender. Off the boat deck overhang is a stainless steel flagstaff, stern light, and two aft facing transom floodlights.

Tender

Carried on the boat deck aft of the flybridge is a Nautica model #RIB15.5WB hard bottom inflatable.  It is 13.5 feet long , the Nautica capacity plate reads 80-hp and 8 persons. She has a white gelcoat fiberglass finish with molded nonskid decks and white Hypalon tubes with blue trim. The decaled name on her port and starboard bow. She has a hull identification number plate on her starboard transom corner which reads "PTJ14764L708". The tender is powered by a 60-hp Yamaha 4-stroke outboard model #T60TLR, serial #6C6L1008970. Its hour meter reads 125 hours. The tender has polished stainless steel popup cleats, a small fiberglass console with grab rail and low Plexiglas windshield, bench seat at the helm with folding backrest, a bench seat forward of the helm with lockers to access the batteries, and a small seat in the bow.

Aft Deck

Centerline in the deck is a teak overlay flush hatch down into the crew and lazarette area center passageway. There is a stainless steel ladder provided. Aft to starboard is a Magnum stainless steel grill with propane storage underneath.

Swim Platform

The molded nonskid decks of the swim platform are protected by stainless steel hoop style removable handrails. In the port and starboard corners are stainless steel popup tender cleats. Port and starboard on the transom are stainless steel handrails, polished stainless steel towing cleats, and two 100-amp Glendinning Cablemaster shore power inlet cords with rocker switch controls. To port is a dockside water pressure connection. To starboard is a telephone and TV receptacle. Centerline in the transom is a quick acting dogged and gasketed lockable door into the crew quarters and lazarette area. Out the back of the boat deck overhang are four aft facing spotlights out to the swim platform.

Ground Tackle

Moonshine III  carries a Manson 80-kg plow type anchor swivel shackled to 300’ of 3/8" G40 galvanized steel chain. The bitter end of the chain is secured within the bin via a short tag line. The anchor is carried on a capsizing plastic nylon roller in a stainless steel chute through the fiberglass pulpit. The anchor is hauled by a Muir model #ATLANTIC3500 hydraulic anchor windlass with vertical capstan and gypsy. Power to the windlass is provided off of the central hydraulic system in the engine room. The windlass is fit with a cone clutch and stripping bar.

The windlass is operated by tethered remote seen stored in the chain locker or by pushbutton switches at the flybridge and pilothouse helm stations. The chain is led below decks through an open spurling hole to an undivided unlined bin with drain aft directly overboard through the forward bilge. The bitter end of the anchor chain is secured with a tag line. The bin is accessed by a latched fiberglass hinged hatch on pneumatic assist located centerline on the foredeck just aft of the windlass.

VIP Stateroom

Located forward on the lower deck is the VIP stateroom with centerline queen berth and two overhead deck hatches. These hatches are fit with vermin and privacy screens. To port is a chest of drawers. To starboard is a cedar lined hanging locker. The berth is hinged and lifts up on spring assist to access a storage compartment. Entertainment is provided to the cabin via a Toshiba 23" flat screen TV and a DirecTV HD satellite receiver. Starboard side aft is an enclosed head with granite countertop vanity with under mount sink, mirrored medicine cabinet, enclosed shower, and toilet. Outboard is a polished stainless steel dogged and gasketed port light with screen.

Port Stateroom

The port side cabin has double twin berths in a high/low arrangement fore and aft off the hull sides. Above is a polished stainless steel dogged and gasketed port light. Aft is a set of chest of drawers and a cedar lined closet. Forward and up a set of small stairs is access into the shared head. There are no entertainment electronics for the port cabin.

Master Stateroom

The master stateroom has a queen size berth in a fore and aft arrangement centerline off of the after bulkhead. Port and starboard are built-in chest of drawers and storage cabinets. Outboard starboard side are additional chest of drawers and a cedar lined closet. Port side are more built-in storage cabinets and a small desk with flip up mirrored makeup top. There is a loose stool provided at the desk. In the hull side port and starboard are polished stainless steel dogged and gasketed port lights with screens. Starboard side forward is entry into the enclosed head. The enclosed head has a granite countertop vanity with under mount sink, multiple mirrored medicine cabinets, granite soles, and enclosed shower and toilet.

Wheelhouse

The wheelhouse has a 5-panel windshield with washers and wipers. There are fixed side windows and port and starboard opening side deck doors. Each of the doors has gasketed hinged window panes for ventilation. There is an approximate 270° visibility. At the helm are (2) Pompanette helm seats with footrest. Aft to port is a raised U-shaped lounge with granite countertop table on fixed pedestal mounts. To starboard aft of the starboard wheelhouse door are cabinets with 120-volt circuit breaker panel with digital volt and ammeters, a 12 and 24 volt DC ship’s service panel with digital volt and ammeters, and the port and starboard Northern Lights model #S-3C remote gauge and control panels.

Salon

The salon is aft and down two steps. The salon has fixed windows port, starboard, and aft. All the windows are fit with blinds. Aft is a double glass polished stainless steel door to the aft deck. The salon has carpeted soles with finished wood cabinetry. To starboard is a U-shaped couch with table and loose chair.

Crew Quarters

The crew area is aft in the engine room and is entered primarily through the opening transom door. There is a secondary hatch to the after deck with ladder down the center passageway. The crew area has a lazarette area to starboard. To port is entry into the lone crew cabin. The crew cabin has two single berths in a high/low arrangement fore and aft off of the hull side. Inboard is a small granite countertop with stainless steel sink and mirrored medicine cabinet with underneath storage. All the way aft is a hanging locker. Aft and outboard are twin doors into the port side of the lazarette/steering compartment. Outboard is a polished stainless steel dogged and gasketed opening port light. Forward inboard is entry into an enclosed head with enclosed shower and vacu-flush toilet. Entertainment is provided to the crew cabin via an Element LCD TV/DVD player and a DirecTV HD receiver.

Engine Room

The engine room  is entered via a dogged and gasketed door with viewing window in the aft engine room bulkhead from the crew quarters. There are no other entrances or escapes from the engine room. The engine room is lit via overhead AC fluorescent lighting and DC spotlighting. The decks are plastic panels with a carpeted overlay laid on top of painted welded aluminum frames bolted in place. The engine room is insulated in the overhead only behind HP laminated panels. The hull sides and bulkheads are uninsulated. The engine room is protected via a Fireboy fixed fire suppression system with remote cable pull located in the crew/lazarette area. The fire system also has a glass bulb automatic discharge head with engine and generator shutdown. In the engine room overhead are a pair of rate of rise heat detectors and two CCTV cameras. ”
