American Marine Grand Banks

American Marine Grand Banks - the reference standard of megayachts

American Marine Grand Banks is a company established in 1956 by Robert J. Newton. Together with his sons - John and White - Robert launched the first shipyard in Hong Kong and began to build the large sailing motor yachts. The first name of the company was American Marine Ltd. It was later renamed into Grand Banks Yachts. The double name - American Marine Grand Banks - was assigned to the vessels that were built at this shipyard.

From the beginning, Robert Newton was guided by the premium segment. He drew attention not only to the dimensions of the yacht, but also to the design, inviting the leading naval architects to the shipyard - William ad, Nathaniel Herreshoff, Ray Hunt and many others.

It took 6 years after the opening of the shipyard, when Newton began to produce the first range of ships that later became known as the Grand Banks. Today they are the legendary, iconic ships that largely influenced the formation of the mega-yacht market. The first yachts were built of wood, and since 1973 Grand Banks were made of fiberglass. At that time the production was moved to Singapore.

Over time, American Marine Grand Banks launched the production of other several types of boats. A distinctive feature of these boats was a dark blue hull with bright golden stripe. In 2001, the company had an opportunity to increase the dimensionsof ships, but they did not make the changes, deciding not to sacrifice quality.

People look up to Grand Banks. These boats are still the best in the mega-yacht market and set quality standards. They are ideal for the most discerning yachtsmen.
