CSY

CSY - the mega-yacht of the dream

CSY is the common name for models of the Caribbean sailing yachts that were built in the 70-80s in the city of Tampa, Florida. The ships were designed by one company - CSY. This company was closed in the 80's. However, the boats built by the shipyard, continued their voyage. They have become quite popular. Today, these vessels can be distinguished by a special medallion that has the printed name of the shipyard.

The manufacturer of these boats began its operations as a charter company. The was founded by Dr. John Van Ost - a dentist, who was very keen on sailing and sailing vessels in particular. The founder wanted to build the luxury mega-yachts that then will be possible to lend for a long term with the crew.

However, the company built mainly ships of 13 meters or less in length. The vessels were in demand, they quickly got their buyers. However, such a purchase agreement was rather rental agreement. At the end of the lease term the vessel should be returned to the owner. The problem was that the owner did not exist any more - the shipyard was closed. Therefore, the vessels were sold out after return.

Today, many models of the boats of this company are at the disposal of brokers, and the buyer can choose any of the currently available yachts. The boats are made of hard plastic and fiberglass. During the construction the company did not use the popular laminated wood. The company thought through every detail and knew the results of use of the non-durable materials.

The vessels of this shipyard are still in excellent condition and look like new ones. The range of the yachts includes the sailing boat with the length of 33, 37 and 44 feet.
