MCMULLEN & WING

MCMULLEN&WING - the luxury yachts from New Zealand

The MCMULLEN&WING shipyard is located in Auckland, New Zealand. It all started with the construction of the boat with a steel hull on the bank of the river Tamaki in Auckland in 1969. It was during this period when the founders of the shipyard, Chris McMullen and Eric Wing, developed the standards and established the principles that will be followed by the company.

In 1970 Wai-Anawa was built - the first sailing boat using aluminum and other advanced materials. The vessel was the winner of One Ton Cup in Sydney, Australia two years later. In 1981 Ceramco was built - the first racing maxi yacht. This sailing boat perfectly proved itself many years later - the yacht received a prize in the America's Cup Champion Racers in 1995.

In 1987, the company built the first 12-meter sailing yacht made of fiberglass. The manufacturer achieved the success - the ship was lightweight, fast and reliable. As a result, the boat won prizes in the regattas. Developed in 1995, the yacht Black Magic NZL32 won first place in the America's Cup.

In 1997, the shipyard began to work on the schooner Shenandoah. This sailing ship produced in 1902, was in poor condition. The shipyard team were challenged to bring him back to life. And the team handled it.

In 1999 the company began working on one of the first motor boats - Big Easy. After that many vessels with diesel engines were produced. The shipyard switched to the production of new ships - fast and powerful ones. During the construction of such boats the company used both steel and aluminum, and composites and fiberglass.
