Overview
All Ocean Yachts is broadening its portfolio of composite expedition yachts. The All Ocean Yachts Overing 105’ RPH Explorer will be crafted by the award‑winning NISI Shipyard Group to full Class certification and MCA compliance.
The President of All Ocean Yachts shared his enthusiasm for joining forces with these exceptional partners to introduce the first model of the refreshed line to discerning yachtsmen.
Blending All Ocean Yachts’ long-standing expertise in explorer builds with Overing Yacht Design’s refined hull efficiency and naval architecture, together with NISI’s innovative, award‑recognized craftsmanship, creates a rare opportunity for an owner intent on commissioning a premium, custom explorer motor yacht of the highest standard.
Purpose-driven innovations define the new 105’ Explorer—real enhancements that elevate extended cruising rather than fleeting trends. The expansive boat deck supports a sizable tender for fishing or diving plus an array of water toys. A dedicated lower service deck optimizes crew workflow, while the interior showcases an exceptional four‑cabin guest layout for superyacht‑level comfort and privacy.
The specification is notably thorough, with equipment selected from top-tier international brands celebrated for proven reliability, strong service networks, and enduring performance—ideal for long‑range, bluewater voyaging in a raised‑pilothouse explorer yacht and expedition motor yacht.
Detailed Description
General specifications
With a commanding LOA of 105’ 0”, a broad 24’ 6” beam, and a confident 5’ 10” draft, this explorer carries a highly efficient round-bilge, bulbous-bow hull that translates refined naval architecture into real-world performance and comfort. Her approximate displacement is 165 long tons, balanced by generous tankage for genuine range: 6,000 gallons of fuel, 1,800 gallons of fresh water, 575 gallons of grey water, 575 gallons of black water, and 100 gallons dedicated to dirty/lube oil. Naval architecture and exterior design are by Overing Yacht Designs; interior design is to be determined to your taste; and sound engineering is entrusted to Sundown Inc., ensuring the acoustic poise that befits a world-class yacht.
Hull design
All hulls are not created equally, and at OYD we refuse to recycle generic forms when the mission calls for precision. Time, R&D, and deep experience converge here: for more than two decades we have built a vast library of refined, proven forms—displacement to planing, hard chine to round bilge—so every vessel is optimized for its intended purpose. Our All Ocean Overing Explorers ride on our Fast Displacement (FD) platform: a highly evolved bulbous-bow, round-bilge, full-displacement hull that comfortably exceeds a speed/length ratio of 1.6 compared with the more common 1.3 SLR. At conventional displacement speeds it is a true fuel miser, and in its third generation—tempered by over a decade of incremental refinements—it delivers world-class, go-anywhere capability with extraordinary seakeeping and comfort.
Accommodations
The master stateroom is a sanctuary centered on a full king-size bed, framed by built-in nightstands and a dresser, with cedar-lined illuminated closets keeping wardrobe and linens pristine. Fixed windows and a built-in settee invite quiet moments, while a built-in entertainment center with a 43-inch LCD TV elevates private relaxation. The ensuite bath is indulgently appointed with his-and-hers custom vanities, marble tops with elegant lavatory bowls, Headhunter toilets, and an oversized stall shower. An exhaust fan system, custom mirrors, and recessed ceiling lighting complement air conditioning and heating with digital controls, with refined floor and wall coverings completing the atmosphere.
Thoughtfully arranged guest staterooms include one queen and one twin cabin, each with built-in nightstands and dresser, cedar-lined closets with lights, and convenient drawer storage built beneath the beds. Opening portlights bring sea air by choice, while built-in entertainment centers with 22-inch LCD TVs and custom vanities with mirrors add comfort and style. Marble-topped vanities with lavatory bowls, Headhunter toilets, and well-proportioned showers are paired with an exhaust fan system, recessed ceiling lighting, and digitally controlled air conditioning and heating, all set against tastefully selected floor and wall finishes.
The captain’s cabin offers a quiet retreat with a double bed, built-in nightstands and dresser, cedar-lined illuminated closets, and drawer space integrated beneath the berth. A built-in entertainment center with a 22-inch LCD TV, a dedicated built-in desk, and a fixed portlight enhance working comfort at sea. The private head is fitted with custom vanities and mirrors, Corian tops with a lavatory bowl, a Headhunter head, and a stall shower, supported by an exhaust fan system, recessed ceiling lighting, digitally controlled air conditioning and heating, and durable, handsome floor and wall coverings.
Crew accommodations are efficient and comfortable, with one stateroom for two crew, cedar-lined closets with lights, and a practical Headhunter toilet. The crew galley is equipped with a soaking sink and a washer and dryer, streamlining provisioning and turnarounds. In the crew lounge, a built-in settee and a built-in entertainment center with a 22-inch LCD TV provide a welcome off-watch respite.
The main salon invites convivial living; loose furniture is supplied by the owner to suit personal style, while a built-in entertainment center with a 43-inch LCD TV anchors movie nights and gatherings. Recessed ceiling lighting sets the mood, digitally controlled air conditioning and heating assure year-round comfort, and curated floor and wall coverings provide a sophisticated canvas.
Formal dining is staged for elegance with the dining table and chairs specified by the owner. Fore and aft china cabinets lend practical beauty and presence, while recessed lighting, digitally controlled air conditioning and heating, and coordinated floor and wall coverings ensure the setting is as comfortable as it is refined.
The main lobby and powder room welcome guests with a dedicated coat locker and a powder room vanity with mirror. Granite tops with a refined lavatory bowl, a Head Hunter toilet, and an exhaust fan system demonstrate that even the smallest spaces are meticulously considered, with floor and wall coverings harmonized to the yacht’s interior palette.
The galley is a chef’s ally, fitted with custom mica cabinetry and Corian tops, a refrigerator/freezer with ice and water dispenser, and two self-cleaning ovens. A microwave oven, dishwasher, trash compactor, surface range with exhaust hood, and a double stainless sink with disposer make preparation effortless, while under‑counter and overhead lighting and two pantries keep workflow bright and organized. Digitally controlled air conditioning and heating and durable floor and wall coverings complete this professional-grade space.
Command is effortless from the pilothouse, where a custom padded control console with an elevated helm station delivers superb sightlines. A monitoring system with five flat-screen monitors, a separate navigation center, and full instrumentation keep the bridge serene and informed. A Recaro helm chair, a custom elevated settee and table, and five windshield wipers/washers reinforce confidence in all conditions. Built-in chart drawers, recessed white and red lighting overhead, digitally controlled air conditioning and heating, coordinated floor and wall finishes, and a custom safety panel and monitoring system reflect a captain’s priorities throughout.
Boat deck
Purpose-built for adventure, the boat deck is outfitted with chocks for owner-furnished tenders measuring 24’ and 14.5’, handled with confidence by one 4,000 lb Marquipt hydraulic crane. A hot tub crowns the space, elevating long-range capability with a touch of on-deck indulgence.
Fly bridge
The flybridge is a private resort at sea, distinguished by a custom canopy and mast, and a convivial bar with six stools, a refrigerator/freezer, and a stainless grill. Custom seating with plush cushions and a buffet invite lingering afternoons, while a full helm station means the best view on board is also the most capable.
Engine room and major equipment
Engineering pedigree drives confidence offshore. Propulsion comes from two Cat C18 main engines rated at 715 hp each (Max. Continuous C Rating), mated to Twin Disc 5114 DC gears with Quick Shift, with Kobelt hydraulic steering and Kobelt single-lever controls at your fingertips. A custom waterdrop exhaust system with Inconel jacket keeps the machinery space cool and quiet. Ship’s power is assured by two 55 kW Northern Lights generators, supported by battery chargers and a Titan or Atlas energy system. Fuel management is professional-grade thanks to Racor fuel/water filters, an Alpha Laval fuel centrifuge, and a dedicated fuel transfer system.
Robust copper/nickel bilge and fire-fighting systems, a fixed fire extinguishing system, and an oily bilge water separator underpin safety, while TRACSTAR stabilizers (stabilization at rest) and a TRAC Integrated Hydraulic Systems bow thruster elevate comfort and control. The ship’s services include two air compressors; two Teel freshwater pressure sets; two 1,200 gal/day water makers; and three hot water heaters. Climate is managed by a Marine Air or Aqua Air air‑conditioning and heating system, with an engine room blower system plus air conditioning for the engine room and machinery spaces.
On deck, hardware is all 316L stainless steel, with two Maxwell 6000 anchor windlasses and two Maxwell 4000 warping capstans. A stainless anchor pocket holds two 180 kg HHP anchors served by 300 ft of 5/8" galvanized stud‑link chain with stainless‑steel lead chain. Outfitting includes PCM or equal doors and windows, Coast Guard approved safety equipment, and an Opac Mare hydraulic passerelle—an equipment suite befitting serious passagemaking.
Construction
Built for strength and longevity, the yacht features a solid laminate vinylester hull and an Airex core vinylester superstructure, all finished in a high‑quality Awlgrip system. Classification is to Lloyd’s 100 A1 X with MCA LY2 compliance, and the structure is subdivided into five watertight compartments, underscoring the yacht’s bluewater brief.
Allowances
Key selections are intentionally left open to reflect your vision: electronics and AV are to be determined, as are soft goods, appliances, and the monitoring system—ensuring the finished yacht is as personal as it is capable.
Captain's comments on operating a Overing design explorer
I have been in command of “Boundless,” an Overing Design 98' Explorer, for seven months, following two major rebuilds on a 38 m Vitters expedition yacht and a classic 40 m Feadship. “Boundless” shares a similar hull design and draft with my previous commands, and I was eager to see her offshore. For her length, design, and current market value, I have found no equal in seaworthiness, comfort, stability, and offshore efficiency from any yard today. After an extraordinary summer cruising New England, as I prepared to reposition south, I had no hesitation running her in following Force 7 and occasional Force 8 conditions for thirty hours. She was lovely to operate in such weather and responded beautifully to the two‑story seas and rolling white water outside with a completely silent, stable, and smooth performance. I would sail this yacht anywhere in the world with confidence.
