Overview
If your intention is to log meaningful time afloat each year, and you’re after a motor yacht that effortlessly supports family living as well as frequent entertaining, the 100-foot Hargrave Second Amendment warrants thoughtful consideration.
She delivers more than 3,500 square feet of combined interior and exterior living area spanning the expansive flybridge, main deck, and lower deck, and crucially, that volume is distributed exactly where it matters most for day-to-day life aboard. Throughout, storage is abundant and the sense of scale surpasses many comparable luxury yachts in this class.
Step aboard Second Amendment and most visitors immediately remark on how much larger the primary living zones feel when set against many European designs in this size range. Guest staterooms are notably more spacious, the heads more commodious, the main salon and dining areas airier, and the upper deck exceptionally well arranged for entertaining. This is a superyacht conceived around real-world use, and welcoming 50-plus guests for sunset cocktails sits squarely within her effortless comfort zone.
She was purpose-built from the outset with charter capability in mind, a meaningful distinction for buyers who appreciate the flexibility of future charter operations and the potential revenue and tax benefits that can accompany them. Even so, her present owners have reserved her exclusively for private use and have never placed her into charter service.
Detailed Description
Yacht description and details
A cool, modern palette of silvers, taupes, slate, and dusty blues flows throughout, while the salon’s expansive windows, set 28" above the floor, frame sweeping views from every vantage point. Overhead, coffered taupe ceiling beams pair with white lacquer recesses and upholstered white panels, and a constellation of LED square and rectangular fixtures—triple polished-chrome rectangles positioned above the dining table and the main seating—casts a refined, architectural glow.
At the heart of the main salon, a walk-around white marble bar, tailored in silver faux leather, anchors the space with poise. Three elegant bar chairs in embossed pearl snake suede face a service counter complete with clear ice and sink, while on both port and starboard, broad upholstered columns rise to meet the ceiling perimeter and resolve seamlessly into the coffered beams. Along the port side, a suite of ultra-plush, pale pewter ultra-suede furnishings—comprising a large sofa, a small sofa, and a full-size chaise lounge—rests beside two custom white marble side tables. Forward, the dining wall is punctuated by two floor-to-ceiling storage cabinets with gray glass doors framed in walnut; between them, an upholstered panel wall, echoing the silver bar’s motif, discreetly conceals the entrance to the dog house storage area. The main salon blends Semi-Gloss Walnut with Toseva taupe/gray veneer, showcases two custom marble tables, and elevates entertaining with a walk-around Bianca quartzite bar, upholstered mullion columns, and a dining console capped in Bianco Rhino. A 65" screen TV faces a custom dining table and base, a Sofa by American Leather—Savino, and eight custom dining chairs, complemented by three snake suede bar chairs, all set against an elegant Concertex wall covering.
The day head is a study in couture stonework: a gray emperador marble vanity and floor border frame crystal white marble for the sink, the floor field, and half-height walls; the remaining walls shimmer with a hand-screened silver palm leaf. Underfoot lies a Bianco Rhino slab floor with an Emperador Gray border, and the space is finished with Phillip Jeffries Ellie’s View wall covering, a La Toscana polished-chrome single-lever faucet, and a Sono Bath Custom Hydros/Silestone vessel sink inlaid with river rock.
In the galley, a country-kitchen sensibility meets professional capability. A generous settee and large windows forward, port, and starboard invite conversation, while resilient White Macaubas Quartzite worktops—harder than granite—complement the stainless steel suite. Square LED fixtures continue the yacht’s crisp lighting profile. Appointments include GE Profile stainless steel refrigeration and appliances, a Franke stainless steel sink, Sub-Zero refrigerator drawers faced in custom Gloss Walnut, and a 32" Samsung TV. Two pull-out pantry units are thoughtfully positioned in the hallway, with a large walnut table and walnut cabinetry completing the scene. In the lower hallway, two Subzero refrigerators and a wine cooler provide extra capacity for extended cruising.
A Bianco Rhino quartzite slab framed in Emperador Gray sets a grand tone in the foyer to the master stateroom. Within, the room is artfully squared and styled to extend the yacht’s cosmopolitan narrative: the full-wall headboard is tufted in pale gray faux leather, flanked by geometric metal sconces that echo the room’s refined patterns, and dressed with sheer shades threaded in silky, fluid yarn beneath shimmery platinum blackout drapes for late mornings. Finishes include Semi-Gloss Walnut with Toseva Gray accents; throw pillows by Kravet, 33976-511 Silken Opulence in Vapor Blue; and a Majilite Ovation light gray upholstered bed base with Antelope embossing. A free-standing bench in Romo Z453/01 Deuce Moonbeam accompanies the matching Majilite Ovation light gray headboard wall with Antelope embossing. The ensuite is executed in marble with frosted glass, and features two Kohler sinks paired with two Grohe faucets.
Both the port and starboard guest staterooms are configured with twin beds that convert to queens with the effortless lift of half a nightstand. Each headboard wall, tufted like the master’s but rendered in a luminous faux leather reminiscent of crushed pearl, ensures every suite feels equally elevated. Details include a Romo Z453/01 Deuce Moonbeam upholstered headboard wall; Majilite Ovation Light Gray with Embossed Antelope panels above the nightstands; generous drawers beneath the beds; and Semi-Gloss Walnut nightstand countertops.
The VIP is a second king stateroom, airy and spacious, with a headboard wall composed of tufted rectangles in a refined faux-skin material and abundant closet space, including a six-foot locked storage closet ideal for owner’s items during charter or for additional gear. Finishes include Semi-Gloss Walnut, a Majilite Baby Ostrich White upholstered headboard wall, drawers beneath the bed, dual window treatments, and marble flooring, along with a Kohler sink and Grohe faucet. The head is expansive, all marble, and impeccably appointed.
On the flybridge, a soothing mix of taupe, steel blue, and stone upholstery sets the tone for relaxed entertaining. The bar front is swathed in Spinneybeck Aqua Leather, and a sweeping thirty-six-foot social zone flexes effortlessly from intimate cocktail hours to lively celebrations. Amenities include a spa tub, two helm benches, three Sub Zero refrigerators with an insulated cooler, a large U-shaped outdoor sofa, a sunless sun pad, and a walk-around bar with six leather barstools. An aft spa bar adds two additional stools, while a side bar integrates a Sub Zero wine cooler and ice maker. A grilling station with a fold-down table makes al fresco dining a pleasure.
Below, the crew accommodations are optimized for comfort and versatility. One Captain Stateroom and two Crew Staterooms sleep five. The Captain’s cabin converts from a queen bunk to twins as needed, with large drawers below, additional storage above, a spacious hanging locker, and ample outlets for charging personal devices. Across the hall, the two crew staterooms share a head and offer notably generous space.
Mechanical systems are engineered for quiet confidence and long-range efficiency. Ground tackle begins with a stainless steel 316 anchor (210 lb) on 300' of chain, handled by a Maxwell Nilsson VW4000 windlass. Propulsion systems run on 4" stainless steel Aquamet 22 shafts turning five-blade bronze propellers through main bronze struts, with an emergency tiller at the ready. Each engine breathes clean through Racor 1000 FG fuel filter/water separators, while Hynautic hydraulic steering remains adaptable to autopilot. Climate control is provided by Cruise Air chilled water, delivered via three four-ton units with Soft Start. Power generation comes from two Northern Lights 38 kW 60 Hz single-phase generators with gauges and sound shields, supported by two Kraus & Naimer C80 booster switches for the isolation transformer. The engine room features double insulation and watertight bulkheads, Naiad Stabilizers Model 302 with 9.0 sq.ft. fins and a Datum controller, and a double stabilizer and bow thruster backup pump on the port and starboard transmissions. Service access is simplified by a Reverso GP-706-24C oil-change pump serving engines, gearboxes, and gensets. Shore power management includes two Glendinning 100-amp Cablemasters with 125' cords at the transom, plus an additional 100-amp shore power connection in a recessed bow locker, and Glendinning controls with one remote. Safety and reliability are elevated by SeaFire smoke and temperature alarms with ten units installed, two 30-gallon water heaters, Mastervolt battery chargers comprising one 80 Amp 24V, one 30 Amp 24V, and one 30 Amp 12V, a Delta “T” engine-room filtration and fan system, Tide Seal dripless rudders and shaft logs, an in-line recirculating hot-water pump, twin generator exhausts, and a Sea-Fire FM200 automatic fire-extinguishing system.
Interior appointments refine the onboard experience with a Gloss Walnut wood interior and Toseva veneer in the main salon, a custom ceiling soffit overhead, and two bar stools at the galley. A stainless steel pull-out pantry lines the starboard walkway, and a custom wood-upholstered club chair graces the aft main salon. The lower foyer features a marble floor inlaid with a three-inch stainless steel detail beneath a custom ceiling, with Samdam K-Pro insulation installed between the master and lower foyer for acoustic privacy. The VIP, port, and starboard guest staterooms are fitted with Kohler Escale sinks—the VIP with two basins—and five Grohe Essence lavatory faucets in Starlight polished chrome serve the suites. Eight Headhunter heads, a marble bathroom floor in the starboard guest suite, marble shower seats in both port and starboard guest heads, and frameless clear glass shower doors in both guest baths underscore the quality of finish. Practicalities include a sliding mechanism that allows one single bed to glide in the starboard guest stateroom, pneumatic lifts for the twin bed in the starboard guest and the bed in the port guest, marble nightstand tops in the port guest, starboard guest, and master staterooms, mirror-backed closet doors in all three, and Majilite upholstery throughout.
On deck, functionality meets polish with 13" L-shaped cleats at the swim platform, stainless steel baby gates at the aft deck, and stainless corner hawse pipes with rollers and cleats to port and starboard aft. The aft deck features built-in seating, a wet bar with sink concealed beneath a lift-up top, and a teak table with sliding and hi-low mechanisms, while a TV rises on a fold-up lift. An electric sliding aft-deck door with sensor and manual override opens to a stairway leading directly to the aft crew cabins, and a dedicated locker stores the boarding ladder. Forward on the flybridge, an L-shaped wet bar with four bar stools and a solid granite top faces a custom helmsman chair with storage, flanked by cup holders at the port and starboard settees and stainless footrests for both the forward starboard FRP cabinet and the port FRP cabinet and seating. Custom FRP side cabinetry with lift-up tops houses insulated coolers, and custom thin FRP cabinets line the starboard side. An American Whirlpool hot tub with FRP seating is served by a varnished teak bar counter with bar stools, and an FRP cabinet accommodates a Fire Magic BBQ grill. A Kalenburg air horn announces your arrival, while the FRP bow seat features storage and a non-skid finish, illuminated by eight waterproof bow-deck lights and two quartz floodlights.
Appliance suites are thoughtfully placed throughout: in the crew lounge, a GE White washer, GE White dryer, and GE White refrigerator; in the lower foyer, a GE White washer and GE White dryer; and in the galley, a GE Profile stainless steel refrigerator, two Sub-Zero walnut-panel refrigerator drawers, a GE Profile black cooktop with stainless steel oven, a GE Profile S S/S microwave vented to the exterior, a GE Profile stainless steel trash compactor, a GE Profile stainless steel dishwasher, and a GE black disposal, all paired with a Blanco stainless steel galley sink, a Blanco 441408 polished-chrome faucet, and Insta Hot & Filter faucet. The main salon bar is served by two U-LINE 1215WCB-00A black wine coolers, a Kohler Compass white sink, and a Kohler chrome faucet. On deck, cold storage and ice are assured by a U-Line stainless steel refrigerator and U-Line stainless steel ice maker on the aft deck, a U-Line stainless steel refrigerator and U-Line stainless steel ice maker on the flybridge, Sub-Zero overlay-panel refrigerator drawers, an Edgestar FP861 white freezer on the flybridge, and a Fire Magic propane gas grill with insulating liner at the flybridge.
The AV package brings cinema-grade entertainment and concert-quality audio to every zone. The flybridge carries a pair of Wetsounds SW-808-W speakers, while the bow features a pair of Wetsounds SW-650-W speakers; the pilothouse is tuned with two Speakercraft Accufit CRS7 One in-ceiling speakers. Screens include a Samsung 48" TV on the aft deck with DirecTV H25 (lease only), a second pair of Wetsounds SW-808-W speakers mounted on the aft deck, a Samsung 65" TV in the salon, a Samsung 32" TV in the galley, a Samsung 19’ LED-LCD HDTV in the captain cabin, a Samsung 28" LED TV in the crew lounge, and Samsung 40" LED TVs in the master, port guest, starboard guest, and VIP staterooms.
Navigation and communications are specified for precision and redundancy: a Furuno 2014 Navpilot 700 autopilot and Furuno 2014 200wx ultrasonic weather station integrate over NMEA2000 alongside the Digital 500 Series. Instrumentation includes a Furuno 2014 RD33 network with four displays, a KEP Marine 17" display, and three Masters M19-4IGPL 19" LCD monitors with two video inputs each on the flybridge, plus two KEP Marine KEPL-17" displays on the flybridge. Communications are handled by two Standard GX5500S fixed-mount VHFs serving both the flybridge and pilothouse, a Panasonic PH 824 ADV Hybrid KSU phone system with PH 824 caller ID card and eight Panasonic speaker phones. Night operations benefit from two ACR RCL 100D 24VDC spotlights on the hardtop and two ACR URP-102 Point Pad kits at the lower and upper helms. All Furuno system installation cables are included.
Safety aboard is comprehensive, with life jackets, fenders, fire extinguishers, dock lines, flares, and a dual life raft. A Quick Lift 2000 lb davit with 360° rotation streamlines tender handling, a 1500 GPD water maker supports extended passages, the Stidd 500N Low Back “Slim line” chair assures long-watch comfort, and UMT sea stairs enhance elegant, secure boarding.
