I ADORE my YACHT. I truly… I REALLY ADORE my YACHT. There’s nothing quite like arriving at a dock, standing midship along the gleaming stainless steel railings, using my Yacht Controller to gracefully maneuver the vessel into the slip with the help of bow and stern thrusters, while onlookers marvel, asking, “Who’s at the helm?” I AM THRILLED by the might of the two American-made Caterpillar 3406 diesels propelling this 56’ masterpiece of luxury crafted in Canada. I RELISH the moments when my family and friends lounge on the two newly updated sun platforms, while I enjoy the view from the FULL-length, air-conditioned, and enclosed Fly Bridge at the upper helm. I CHERISH how my 92-year-old mother can easily ascend the staircase to the bridge alongside my 50-pound dog, who, I must add, sheds quite a bit. Thankfully, the Salon’s wooden floors make cleaning a breeze, even when he’s settled in front of the 42” flat-panel TV on the newly upholstered salon couches, right next to the wine cooler. Speaking of “coolers,” we upgraded the galley fridge to a more efficient dual drawer slide-out model. And let’s not forget Teddy, my dog, who absolutely adores the inflatable dinghy, especially when the swim platform hydraulically raises and lowers for easy access to the water. Watch out, DUCKS!

My family dreamed of a shore house, so I proposed a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom yacht—not just near the beach, but ON the water. It became our cherished Jersey Shore retreat and our winter haven in Florida. We loved every moment. However, my wife discovered a penthouse condo in Florida at an irresistible price, and then we found a Jersey shore home with a 5’ deep, 50’ long dock in our backyard on a shallow bay. Unfortunately, our boat couldn’t fit between the neighbors, and with a 39” draft, we were left with no options. Thus, I must find a new home for my beloved “baby” and have since replaced it with a 25’ Scarab dual console at our dock.
