Technical details

Built by Ocean King, the Explorer 130 is a full-displacement yacht with a bow bulb, carrying a steel hull beneath an aluminum superstructure. She measures 40.26 m/132 ft in length overall with a waterline length of 36.33 m/119.1 ft, a maximum beam of 10.20 m/33.4 ft, and a draught at half load of 3.30 m/10.8 ft. Displacement is 650 t at half load and 728 t at full load. Accommodation is arranged for twelve guests in six staterooms and for nine crew in five cabins, with a gross tonnage of less than 500 gt.

Power comes from two CAT C32 Acer V12 RAT.A engines, with power output at 100/MCR of two 970 kW/1320 Cv at 2,100 rpm, turning through a Reintjes WAF 484 gearbox. Propulsion is by direct shaft line with two Vulkan ProFlex flexible couplings, driving a NiBrAl class “S” propeller with five blades designed to optimize comfort and efficiency. Shafts are AISI 630 with a Ø 120 mm diameter, and the rudders are crafted in AISI 316 stainless steel. Performance includes a maximum speed of 14 knots, a cruising speed of 12 knots, and an economical speed of 10 knots, delivering a maximum range at economical speed of 16,800 nm.

Onboard power is provided by two 118 kW gensets @ 50 Hz 400V plus one 65 kW genset @ 50 Hz 400V, with A/C power rated at 240,000 btu/h. Tankage is extensive, featuring a fuel capacity of 194,000 liters/51,254 gallons, fresh water capacity of 21,000 liters/5,548 gallons, black/grey water capacity of 18,000 liters/4,755 gallons, lube oil tank capacity of 2,200 liters/581 gallons, dirty oil lube tank capacity of 2,200 liters/581 gallons, bilge tank capacity of 2,200 liters/581 gallons, and overflow tank capacity of 1,000 liters/264 gallons. The yacht accommodates a tender with a maximum length of 8.5 m/27.8 ft.
