day 1From Auckland to Waiheke Island

Your splendid yacht is waiting for you in Auckland, the City of Sails. Take the time to learn the history of this amazing city by visiting the Auckland Museum where you’ll get to see Maori dancer give a live performance. Leave for the Hauraki Gulf after making a stop at one of the famous wineries of Waiheke Island for a wine tasting.

Try your hand at climbing the great Rangitoto Volcano and then have a bite to eat on slopes that are practically covered with blooming flowers. You can also visit one of more than two dozen wineries located on the island for a wine tasting before feasting on fresh caught shellfish at Vino Vino.

day 3Tryphena, Great Barrier Island

Even though Great Barrier is the largest island in the Hauraki Gulf, it still doesn’t have electricity which will make your luxury charter yacht a real private oasis when you get back in the evening after a day spent kayaking, at Medlands beach, or soaking in the Kaitoke Hot Springs.

day 4Harataonga Bay, Great Barrier Island

Located on the east of Great Barrier Island, it’s necessary to use a larger vessel if you’d like to get to Haratoanga Bay. Because it’s harder for smaller boats to get there, the Bay is peaceful and isolated place with just a few tourists making it highly appreciated by those who can get there. The 1,300 foot beach is charming, especially when the weather is nice. Relish your meal back on the yacht in the comfort of solitude.

Kawau Island is the jewel of Hauraki Gulf. Here you can visit the Mansion House – a Victorian building from the end of the 19th century that acted as the residence of Sir George Grey, the governor of New Zealand. Beautiful peacocks and wallabies walk the gardens and the dinner served at the Beach House is sure to suit your taste.

While visiting Whangaparaoa you’re sure to see dolphins, whales, and even orcas. In the northwestern part of the area there’s a place with crystal clear water, so you’ll have the opportunity to rent a kayak and sail along the river, have a trip to the mangroves, or just take a leisurely stroll. Kauri Cliffs, situated not too far to the north, is known to be one of the Top 100 Greatest Golf Courses in the World, so you can relax while playing several games before going back to your yacht to soak in the bath and enjoy the beautiful sunset.

day 7Auckland

Now that you’re heading back to Auckland, you can do some morning shopping in its suburb of Devonport. You’ll have a charming farewell brunch on the yacht as you say “good-bye” to this truly unforgettable place.
