Detailed Description
Description
Power and elegance converge in a grand cruising yacht that carries you beyond the simple joy of sailing. Oceanis 60 embraces innovative solutions that elevate every mile, enticing with luxurious accommodation, outstanding seakeeping and reassuring safety that make long passages as effortless as they are unforgettable.
Overview
Built on a hull that artfully blends performance, moderate heel and all‑weather security, Oceanis 60 introduces an unusually open deck plan that allows even a small crew to manoeuvre with graceful ease. Brushed anthracite linings, glossy woodwork and generously contoured upholstery define interiors conceived for warmth and poise, while the three‑cabin, three‑head layout welcomes friends and family in premium comfort. Under sail or at anchor, her character is unmistakable: the most spacious cockpit ever offered in this class and a magnificent aft deck transform life outdoors into pure pleasure. Construction meets European Directive requirements with CE certification and is executed with a monolithic polyester hull, a monolithic structural counter‑moulding laminated and bonded to the hull, and a balsa and fiberglass sandwich deck; the deck‑to‑hull joint is bonded and screwed with one solid wood toerail, a cast iron shoal keel is fixed with bolts and stainless steel backing plates, the rudder is hung with a glass composite stock, and the hull is finished in Dark Navy Blue. Naval architecture is by Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design and interior design by Nauta Design. Sailplan dimensions are generous and versatile: a furling mainsail 73.00 m² 786 sq/ft, an asymmetrical spinnaker 248.00 m² 2,670 sq/ft and a self‑tacking jib 62.00 m² 667 sq/ft.
On deck, the rig is tuned for control and confidence: a standard 9/10 anodised aluminium mast, keel‑stepped, with three aft‑swept spreaders and Traveller MDS, folding mast steps and an anodised aluminium boom; discontinuous stainless steel standing rigging and a double backstay with bottle screws; a rigid boom vang with tackle; a manual genoa furler with the drum on deck; two stand‑up blocks for the mainsail on the fixed composite arch; two genoa tracks with piston‑adjusted traveller cars and two genoa sheet turning blocks; complete running rigging comprising main halyard, genoa halyard with clutch on mast and cleat, boom topping lift with cleat on mast, mainsheet, two genoa sheets, two automatic reefing lines and one manual; eleven jammers and six jamming cleats; pre‑fitting for a spinnaker with six pad eyes and clutches; and a Windex windvane. Power is at your fingertips with two self‑tailing genoa sheet winches (H70.2 STC), two self‑tailing coachroof winches (H46.2 STC), two Speedgrip winch handles and two winch handle boxes. Ground‑tackle and mooring arrangements are equally robust: a self‑draining chain locker, hatch access to the chain locker from the sail locker/forepeak cabin, a stainless steel bow fitting with two rollers, an asymmetric spinnaker tack point and a stainless steel bobstay, a 24 V 2000 W vertical electric windlass with remote control, and eight aluminium mooring cleats protected by stainless steel deck line guards. The sail locker is reached through a deck hatch and fitted with a stainless steel ladder with solid wood steps and two shelving. Safety flows around the deck via one open stainless steel forward pulpit with step, two stainless steel pushpits, one lifebuoys support bracket, one outboard engine bracket, two rings for a flag welded on the pushpit, a double guardrail with stainless steel stanchions and openings in the guardrail to port and starboard, two stainless steel handrails on deck, two on the fixed arch, two stainless steel grabrails on the cockpit coaming, and two stainless steel handrails at the helm seats.
The cockpit is a carefully tiered theatre of control and conviviality: it is self‑draining and offers two lockers under each helm seat with gas‑strut opening, two rope lockers and a step plate ahead of the steering stations, and natural solid wood slatted benches; each of the two steering wheel consoles carries a stainless steel wheel of 1 100 mm / 3’7’’ diameter, leather‑covered, with steering lock, steering gear on partition and a metal cable transmission system, a navigation instrument support (optional instruments), a compass on the binnacle, a stainless steel glass holder and stainless steel handrail. Two helm seats welcome long watches, while a deck filler provides access to the tiller system and an emergency tiller stands ready; the engine throttle and control panel are to starboard. At the heart of the cockpit, a solid wood table unfolds on two leaves and features guy wash boards, a miscellaneous locker, a bottle holder, a 12 V socket, a lamp with shade, switch and cover; two waterproof loudspeakers and LED lamps sit discreetly beneath the arch. The companionway is secured by a folding door and a PMMA sliding hatch with an electric locking system. Aft, open access is protected by stainless steel guardlines and one stainless steel door, the sole is natural solid wood, and stowage abounds with one liferaft locker to starboard on gas struts (0.90 m x 0.34 m x 0.58 m / 2’11’’ x 1’1’’ x 1’11’’), a dedicated tender room, 24 V electric, one gas locker to port on gas struts, two watertight lockers at the bottom of the dinghy storage space and one central storage compartment there as well. A stainless steel removable swim ladder with solid wood steps, a hot and cold cockpit shower, one 220 V shore power connection, a lounge area behind the helm and a ladder to the articulating swim platform round out an aft deck made for long afternoons at anchor.
Inside, the atmosphere is crisp and contemporary with Alpi Mahogany woodwork, parquet‑type laminated floors, fabric upholstery and ceiling panels, bulkheads and hull liners covered in white PVC fabric. The companionway has 2.08 m / 6’10’’ of headroom and a wooden stair with hung steps in moulded wood and a non‑slip surface, stainless steel stairway ramps leather‑covered and wrinkled blinds. This version presents one forward cabin. Forward, headroom rises to 2.10 m / 6’11’’ around a central double bed (2.05 x 1.22 m - 1.66 m / 6’9’’ x 4’ - 5’5’’) with a slatted bed base and marine mattress, flanked by night tables, shelving, drawers and a miscellaneous locker; lockers under the bed lift on gas struts; wardrobe, cupboard and shoe cabinet accommodate extended cruising wardrobes; a dressing table with mirror and a removable seat complement a Mirror Gateway; natural light pours through two hull portholes with blackout curtains and three opening deck hatches with blackout blinds/mosquito nets. The starboard forward head compartment, en‑suite and 2.00 m / 6’7’’ high, features a separate shower with moulded tray, hot/cold mixer and screen, a manual toilet with a 73 L / 19 US Gal rigid holding tank, a washbasin on a synthetic resin worktop with hot/cold mixer tap, two mirrors, toilet accessories, cupboards and shelving, and an opening deck hatch with blackout blind/mosquito net.
The saloon offers 2.03 m / 6’8’’ of headroom, a U‑shaped bench with leather upholstery and a retractable central seat, and a swivel foldaway wood table with lacquered top and inlay and an integrated bar; a sofa with armrests completes a space lined with cupboards, shelves and stowage along the hull, with additional space under seats and sofa, and an electric bar discreetly tucked behind the port settee. Daylight arrives through a panoramic skylight with blackout blinds/mosquito, two hull portholes with blackout curtains, two fixed deckhouse side windows with pleated blinds and four opening portholes in the fixed side windows. At the starboard chart table, the helmsman enjoys a control console with flap, a miscellaneous locker, organised storage and a moulded wood fiddle, a dedicated seat with cushion and backrest, and a swivel backlit electrical panel allowing easy access to electrical connections; a navigation instrument panel (optional instruments) waits at hand, and a radio with stereo CD/MP3 player feeds two loudspeakers. Storage continues with one oilskin locker and a three‑drawer cabinet. The galley to port provides 2.05 m / 6’9’’ of headroom and a U‑shaped workflow over a synthetic resin worktop, a rectangular stainless steel sink with a matching stainless steel drainer and a solid‑wood cutting board, a cold and hot water shower mixer tap, and a gas cooker with three burners, a stainless steel grill and an oven on gimbals with a stainless steel protection handrail. Cold stores include a 130 L fridge with a 24 V refrigeration unit and two‑speed compressor with front opening, and a 100 L cooler/conservator/freezer with top opening. Drawers on slides with buffers, cupboards and equipped lockers (shelves with guy wash boards, tea towel holder, bottle holder) keep everything secure, while an embedded bin and an opening porthole with blackout curtain complete the space.
Aft to starboard, a cabin with 1.90 m / 6’3’’ of headroom offers two single beds that can be joined to make a double (2.00 x 0.86 m + 2.00 x 0.80 m / 6’7’’ x 2’10’’ + 6’7’’ x 2’07’’) with slat mattresses and marine mattress; a hanging locker, shelving and a miscellaneous locker, a dressing table with mirror, a Mirror Gateway, an opening porthole into the cockpit with blackout curtain, an additional opening porthole with blackout curtain, glazing fixed to the transom with blackout curtain and a fore opening porthole towards the transom ensure comfort and light. The aft starboard head compartment, at 2.05 m / 6’9’’ headroom and privately accessible from this cabin, mirrors forward with a separate shower with moulded tray, hot/cold mixer and screen, a manual toilet, one 73 L / 19 US Gal rigid holding tank, a washbasin on a synthetic resin worktop with hot/cold mixer tap, a mirror, toilet accessories, a cupboard and cubby‑hole locker, and two opening portholes with curtains. To port aft, another cabin enjoys 1.90 m / 6’3’’ of headroom and a double bed (2.05 x 1.40 m - 1.53 m / 6’9’’ x 4’7’’ - 5’) with slatted bed base and marine mattress, complemented by a hanging locker, shelving, a miscellaneous locker and a Mirror Gateway; an opening porthole into the cockpit with blackout curtain, an additional opening porthole with blackout curtain, glazing fixed to the transom with blackout curtain and a fore opening porthole towards the transom complete the arrangement. The aft port head compartment, 2.05 m / 6’9’’ high, is accessible from both the port aft cabin and the saloon, with a separate shower (moulded tray, hot/cold mixer, screen), a manual toilet, one 73 L / 19 US Gal rigid holding tank, a washbasin on a synthetic resin worktop with hot/cold mixer tap, a mirror, toilet accessories, cupboards and a cubby‑hole locker, and one opening porthole with curtain.
Propulsion is entrusted to a Volvo D3 — 150 CV/HP, with engine electrical control and switchboard at the starboard helm. The engine compartment benefits from foam soundproofing and purposeful ventilation with one air intake and one pressured air outlet; charging comes from one 12 V alternator rated at 120 Amps and one 24 V alternator rated at 80 Amps. Fuel is carried in two roto‑moulded diesel tanks (240 l / 63 US Gal under the aft berth to port + 240 l / 63 US Gal under the aft berth to starboard) with electronic gauge, two deck fillers and tank selection via ¼‑turn by‑pass valves; filtration includes sea water, diesel and a water separator. The drivetrain features a stainless steel shaft line and a three feathering blades propeller; engine access is generous via the companionway (opening assisted by two gas cylinders) as well as through the passageway and aft cabins. Electrical architecture is comprehensive, with 12 V, 24 V and 220 V circuits; ducts with mouse lines ease threading of cables for electrics or optional navigation electronics, while a 220 V electrical panel with breaker and voltmeter, and a combined 12 V/24 V electrical panel with breaker, voltmeter, water gauge, fuel gauge and 24 V charging/consumption current measurement put essential data at your fingertips; a dedicated compartment in the port aft cabin houses controls for standard or optional electrical equipment. In the 12 V domain, standard equipment includes 12 V sockets and Hifi readiness, with optional Hifi and electronics; power reserves comprise one 12 V 110‑Amp engine battery and one 12 V 110‑Amp service battery, a battery switch (port passageway), a 12 V power distributor, one 12 V 25‑Amp engine battery charger and two 12 V sockets (one at the chart table and one at the cockpit table). The 24 V circuit supplies the electric windlass, pumps, navigation lights, lighting and refrigeration units as standard, with a bow thruster available as an option; storage is provided by one 24 V 280‑Amp service battery set (4 x 12 V 140‑Amp batteries), a battery switch (port passageway), a 24 V power distributor and one 24 V 60‑Amp engine battery charger. The 220 V system includes sockets and a water heater as standard, with options for an electrical cooker, microwave oven, watermaker, icemaker, air conditioning, extractor hood, washer and dishwasher. Sockets 220 V are abundant: the three‑cabins layout provides twenty one sockets (Forward cabin x 5 - Fore head x 1 - Port saloon x 2 - Galley x 2 - Chart table x 4 - Port aft cabin x 2 - Aft port head compartment x 1 - Starboard aft cabin x 3 - Aft starboard head compartment x 1); the four‑cabins layout provides nineteen sockets (2 Forward cabins x 2 - Port saloon x 2 - Galley x 2 - Chart table x 4 - Port aft cabin x 3 - Aft starboard head compartment x 1). Lighting is by efficient LEDs throughout the interior — overhead lights, indirect lighting, adjustable wall‑mounted luminaires and reading lamps — with courtesy lamps in wardrobes; outside, lighting under the fixed arch complements a standard bulb configuration of a deck floodlight at mid mast, a projector boom bar and a shade lamp on the cockpit table. Navigation lights are LED with controls at both the chart table and the starboard helm, accompanied by one mooring light at the mast top, one automatic steaming light at mid mast, port and starboard pulpit lights and a sternlight on the starboard pushpit. Plumbing supports independence offshore with two rotomoulded freshwater tanks (2 x 324 l / 2 x 86 US Gal in the saloon inner moulding) with two deck fillers and ¼‑turn by‑pass valves for tank selection, a pressurised electric water pump with expansion tank and inline filter, a 60 L / 16 US Gal electric calorifier, and one rigid 73 L / 19 US Gal black water holding tank for each WC; comfort is assured by automatic electric shower drain pumps with time delay, two electric bilge pumps and one manual bilge pump, and one electric ice box drain pump. Gas is smartly contained in a port aft transom locker with a regulator and safety tap.
