Overview
RAMPAGE is a fully renewed, head-turning, attractive classic 31' Bertram flybridge cruiser. An iconic offshore sportfish convertible, she blends pedigree and performance with timeless lines and blue‑water capability. Twin Yanmar 315 hp diesel engines with under 1,300 hours support Garmin GPS, radar, depth sounder, autopilot, VHF, and stereo. She’s been refinished from keel to hardtop. Replaced in 2015: fuel tank, deck, interior with cabin A/C, electronics, cushions, engine beds, and stringers—an exhaustive refit. The cabin features a teak-and-holly sole, granite countertop in the galley and a head vanity with a basin sink and freshwater toilet. A forward V-berth with filler cushion is handsomely accented by varnished teak moldings. She has had only two owners in the last 21 years and has served primarily as a cruising yacht, seldom fished. This yacht‑club–kept vessel is in lovely condition and was previously christened Miles Aweigh. Many exist, yet very few rival RAMPAGE.
Detailed Description
Description
RAMPAGE is a completely restored, head‑turning Classic 31 Bertram flybridge cruiser, painted from the keel to the hard top and kept to yacht‑club standards. Twin Yanmar 315 hp diesels with roughly 1,300 hours since installation provide confident performance, complemented by Garmin GPS, depth sounder, autopilot, VHF, and stereo. A comprehensive 2015 refit brought a new fuel tank, new deck, a new interior with cabin A/C, new electronics, new cushions, new engine beds, and new stringers. Below, the cabin showcases a teak and holly sole, a granite countertop in the galley area, and a head vanity with a basin sink and freshwater head. Forward, the V‑berth with filler insert is finely trimmed with varnished teak moldings. Used primarily as a cruising boat and only rarely fished, this yacht has had only two owners over the past twenty‑one years and was formerly named Miles Aweigh. There are others, but there are very few better than RAMPAGE.
Deck and hull equipment
From the waterline up, the yacht gleams under a complete Awlgrip paint job executed at Huckins in 2015, while below the water her bottom was stripped, any blistering ground and epoxy filled, then primed and painted for lasting protection. A custom bow rail with pulpit and anchor roller leads the way forward, complemented by a new fiberglass deck laid in 2015, custom flybridge seating with newer upholstery, and bespoke cockpit side panels. Practical refinements include custom built-in fold-down cockpit steps and a custom bridge access step, a built-in transom fishbox/baitwell, and a half tower with hardtop and a three-sided enclosure with U-zips. Protection and comfort are assured by a flybridge cover, a full cockpit cover, engine box cushions, and isinglass cockpit weather skirts, while a fiberglass swim platform with ladder eases time in the water. Handling and safety are elevated by a Maxwell windlass with remote control at the flybridge, a Ritchie magnetic compass, an ACR EPIRB, and an electric horn. Anglers will appreciate four rod holders on the aft flybridge railing and two flush-mounted rod holders in the cockpit, with flybridge and cockpit JL Audio stereo speakers setting the soundtrack. The cockpit is thoughtfully outfitted with two folding deck chairs and a drink cooler with a cushion top, and a cockpit shade canvas that attaches at the aft flybridge rail with two stainless poles that fit neatly in the rod holders.
Electronics
At the helm, a Garmin 7212 GPS chartplotter with WAAS GPS anchors a thoughtfully curated suite, joined by a Garmin black box color depth system paired with a 1 kW transducer that has been updated since the original installation. Confident passage-making comes courtesy of a Simrad AP 24 autopilot, while clear, reliable communication is delivered by an ICOM M504 VHF. For prudent redundancy, a backup Garmin 546 GPS/plotter resides in the overhead electronics box. Onboard entertainment is elevated by a Fusion IP7000i stereo with a bridge remote and Bluetooth.
Interior
Thoughtfully upgraded, the interior reveals an open layout with effortless access to the V-berth, complemented by cabinetry to port and starboard and extra features thoughtfully integrated at every turn. New V-berth cushions and custom wainscot paneling enrich the forward space, while a timeless teak and holly sole carries a warm, classic ambiance throughout. In the salon, custom overhead access enhances practicality, and a bespoke L-shaped settee invites relaxed gatherings. The galley is crowned with a striking granite countertop, and the head is appointed with a custom curved door, a vanity, and a new toilet installed in 2015. Systems modernization continues with a new holding tank and plumbing with a macerator pump in 2015.
Electrical
A custom 12V and 110V panel anchors the system, complemented by LED white and blue spreader lights, LED blue under gunnel lights, and LED navigation lights for crisp illumination throughout. On the flybridge, a Blue Sea switch panel provides intuitive control, while 30-amp shore service and an updated ProMariner ProNautic 12V 40-amp automatic battery smart charger streamline power management; radial battery shut off switches add security, and new engine starting batteries installed in 2024 ensure dependable starts.
Mechanical
Power comes from Yanmar 6LP-STE 315 hp diesels, managed with Morse single‑lever engine controls and monitored by digital read‑out tachometers, VDO engine gauges, and an electric fuel gauge at the helm. The engine room presents impeccably, finished in white Awlgrip in 2017 and complemented by custom low‑profile engine boxes with extra Soundown insulation for a refined, quiet ride.
The mechanical pedigree is further underscored by diligent, time‑stamped upgrades: in 2015 the engines were removed for valve jobs and set on new engine beds; that same year saw a new fuel tank, new stringers, new dripless rudder posts, and new struts—no damage, simply time for renewal. In 2026 the engines were again removed, painted, fitted with new oil pans and select hoses, and precisely aligned. Reliability and control are reinforced by Racor primary fuel filters, SeaStar hydraulic steering, and four‑blade propellers, while onboard comfort is assured by a newer Dometic reverse‑cycle air conditioning system with custom vents and a digital thermostat.
