Overview

Fresh price adjustment—now offered at $899,000 (1/29/2026). Launched at 81 feet and professionally lengthened by 6 feet in 1992, this classic Burger raised-pilothouse motor yacht now boasts sleeker lines and grander proportions. The extension yielded a coveted semi-enclosed aft deck, an expansive boat deck, and a wealth of additional storage within the lazarette, enhancing both comfort and capability.

At 11 knots (1450 rpm), SHEPSL X achieves an impressive range of roughly 1,000 nautical miles while consuming only 38 gph in total, underscoring her credentials as a long-range cruiser with semi-displacement efficiency. Cherished by a succession of generous owners, she has continued to benefit from thoughtful upgrades under her current custodian—who, according to Burger Yachts, is uniquely the only Burger owner to have simultaneously held three substantial models at 75', 87', and 118'. Standing proud and immaculately kept, SHEPSL X blends luxury motor yacht refinement with flybridge versatility and superyacht presence, and she is ready for your private inspection.

Detailed Description

Walkthrough

Boarding at the purposeful midship rail breaks to port or starboard, you can stride forward into the expansive Pilothouse or aft into the flowing Salon and Dining area. The Pilothouse reveals an unexpectedly generous command space with a full main helm, a three-person bench seat, and a staircase ascending to the Flybridge. Forward, steps drop to the engine room and crew domain: to port, an ensuite Captain’s cabin with a double berth; fully forward, an ensuite Crew cabin with two bunks; and within this service core, a separate washer and dryer stand ready for long-range self-sufficiency. Aft from the Pilothouse, a full-beam Galley unfolds, complemented to starboard by an intimate two-person dinette. Continuing aft, the yacht opens into the full-beam Salon, thoughtfully arranged with a discreet Day Head and a round dining table for six, while a marble-topped curved banquette to port elegantly delineates Dining from Lounge. In the Salon proper, port side seating invites with a vast off-white upholstered sofa, coffee table, and two swivel barrel chairs facing a commanding 70" TV, as stairs to starboard lead below to three serene cabins. Through sliding doors aft, the large enclosed Aft Deck beckons, its built-in seating and three teak chairs arrayed around an oval table, a 55" LG TV poised for entertainment, and convenient access to the original lazarette. Below, the aft Master suite spans the beam with a king-size berth and separate His and Hers Heads—port with a shower and starboard indulging with a Jacuzzi tub. Forward to port lies the VIP with an athwartships berth and its own head featuring a second Jacuzzi tub, while to starboard an ensuite twin lower-berth cabin includes a proper stall shower.

Pilothouse

Entered through sliding doors to port or starboard, the Pilothouse delivers superb volume with more than four feet between the helm wheel and the aft bench. Beneath the three-person leather helm seat are four drawers plus two full-size chart drawers; outboard, a thoughtful cabinet adds four more drawers with a cabinet above. Forward to port, outboard of the centerline helm, four ventilated storage cabinets, two drawers, and a dedicated cutout for the yacht’s printer/scanner keep command neatly organized. The sole gleams in varnished teak and holly. Aft lie steps to the Flybridge with a slim storage locker, while forward to starboard, steps descend to the engine room and crew cabins.

Pilothouse equipment

Command is precise and intuitive with a 32" varnished ship’s wheel ringed in stainless steel and a Simrad AP70 autopilot new in 2023. Engine data is crystal clear on two Detroit Diesel DDEC electronic displays, complemented by Detroit Diesel electronic engine controls and station-active controls. Navigation and situational awareness are delivered via two 12" monitors for Garmin systems handling radar, charting, and cameras, as well as two Furuno RD30 data displays and two Garmin remote control panels with joysticks. Close-quarters confidence comes from Naiad bow thruster control, Naiad stabilizer controls with a dual pressure gauge, and responsive wiper/washer controls. A Garmin card reader and a 5" Ritchie magnetic compass sit at hand, while a Garmin VHF, a Wema seven-position tank level indicator, a Rule high-water alarm system, and two red overhead navigation lights round out a professional-grade suite.

Galley

Just aft and a gentle half-step down from the Pilothouse, the full-beam Galley feels fresh and contemporary, its planked vinyl sole underfoot, stainless steel appliances gleaming, high-gloss varnished cabinetry refined, and cool marble countertops anchoring the aesthetic. To starboard, a two-person L-shaped settee with a matching marble tabletop faces a 24" Insignia TV, with practical storage concealed beneath the seating.

Galley eqiupment

Culinary capability is comprehensive, with a GE side-by-side stainless steel refrigerator over a freezer drawer, a dual-basin undermount stainless steel sink, and a Bosch four-burner ceramic cooktop with touch controls paired to a full-size Bosch stainless steel wall oven. A Bosch stainless steel convection/microwave with an exhaust hood featuring a variable-speed fan and lights works above resilient marble countertops, supported by an InSinkErator garbage disposal and a removable spray faucet. Clean-up is effortless with a Bosch stainless steel dishwasher, while eleven varnished cabinet doors and eleven varnished drawers provide abundant stowage. Side windows with shades brighten the space, thirteen overhead LED lights ensure perfect task illumination, and privacy doors fore and aft plus digital A/C controls complete a highly functional galley.

Dining salon

Flowing open to the Salon aft, the Dining Salon graces the port side with a round six-place table and upholstered chairs. Forward to port, built-in raised-panel cabinetry—three above and three below a marble shelf concealing interior drawers—beautifully houses the yacht’s stemware and dinner service, while the outboard glass-framed side-deck entry door welcomes aboard across inlaid Emperador dark marble tiles. Aft of the dining table, a curved cabinet with four raised-panel doors adds discreet stowage beneath a marble top set at a height that preserves easy circulation. To starboard, companion cabinetry mirrors the port treatment, and with a clever curved doorway, conceals the Day Head. Inside, the Day Head features a Headhunter toilet, a vanity with sink above and storage below, and artful decorative tile around a two-sided mirror that visually expands the space. The Emperador dark marble sole continues to the starboard entry door with its large glass pane. Next aft, a marble-topped two-door storage cabinet with two interior drawers precedes the elegantly curved stairway down to the accommodations, its raised-panel surround blending seamlessly into the joinery. This refined area enjoys two house-side windows to port and starboard with Roman shades, two digital A/C controls, a carpeted sole, fourteen overhead LED lights, and a softly finished vinyl overhead.

Salon

Open to the Dining area to amplify a grand visual sweep, the Salon invites relaxation with a six-cushion C-shaped upholstered sofa to port, complete with under-seat storage and attended by two round coffee tables. Centerline, two-panel sliding glass doors glide to the aft deck, while to starboard, two upholstered swivel chairs with ottomans gather around a round glass coffee table. Further outboard, joinery that echoes the dining theme frames an entertainment center: within the two forward cabinets reside a Sony audio/video receiver, the aft deck’s Direct TV receiver, and the Salon’s Direct TV DVR; above, a 70" Samsung Smart TV presides, with two storage cabinets below and two additional cabinets aft housing the Salon A/C air handler. The entire ensemble is finished with a matching marble top for visual continuity. The Salon enjoys a continuous carpeted sole, digital A/C controls, sixteen overhead LED lights, and an immersive five-channel stereo system overhead. Two fixed windows to port and two to starboard flood the space with natural light and can be shaded with Roman shades as desired, while above, twenty LED fixtures softly illuminate a refined vinyl overhead.

Aft deck

Spanning the full beam, the aft deck is enclosed by hard-side sliding windows and a five-panel curtain aft with a removable sunshade, creating an all-weather retreat. Built-in seating aft with removable cushions fronts a high-varnished oval dining table on a substantial stainless steel pedestal, complemented by three teak chairs arranged forward. Thanks to the hull extension, the aft deck depth stretches an impressive 13'6" from front to back. Appointments include a clean vinyl overhead, twelve overhead LED lights, upper and lower storage cabinets to port and starboard, a 55" LG TV, a wine cooler, dual clear digital A/C controls on both port and starboard, an accent carpet, a starboard teak-and-holly sole section, a starboard-side access door to the swim platform, double sliding glass doors to the Salon, and a washdown spigot with hose for effortless rinsing.

Accommodation foyer

Down nine curved carpeted steps from the Salon, the Accommodation Foyer rests on an Emperador marble tile sole and opens to the Master suite aft and two Guest suites. A two-door stewardess locker for supplies and a central vacuum outlet are thoughtfully positioned within this landing.

Master cabin

Entered at the forward end, the king-size berth lies on centerline with four drawers beneath the mattress for added stowage and elegant rope lighting in the toe kick. The entire bulkhead aft is upholstered as a full-width headboard, and on either side of the berth, four-drawer nightstands sit beneath matching sconce lights. A 43" Samsung Smart TV centers the forward bulkhead. To port, a two-door, auto-lit, cedar-lined hanging locker precedes a chest of nine drawers capped by a glass-top countertop, with two large opening portholes above dressed with drapes and a blackout curtain; aft lies the entry to the His Head. To starboard, a matching double-door auto-lit hanging locker is followed by a chest of three drawers and a vanity with a Lucite stool; above, a matching glass countertop and an opening porthole with drapes and a blackout shade add balance. Aft is the entry to the Hers Head. The suite is finished with fourteen overhead LED lights, a dressing mirror, and a SAT TV equipment cabinet neatly concealed behind the entry door.

Starboard side “hers head”

Through a bi-fold door, the Hers Head sets a bright tone with white marble tile underfoot. The vanity features two cabinet doors and two drawers beneath a solid-surface countertop with a Kohler undermount china sink, while new LED sconce lights flank two mirrored medicine cabinets. Inboard, a Jacuzzi tub offers handheld or wall-mountable fixtures. The toilet is a compact Headhunter model, served by a two-door storage cabinet and an opening porthole above, complete with drapes and a blackout shade. Overhead, four LED lights and an exhaust fan ensure comfort.

Port side “his head”

Underfoot, Emperador dark marble with a central white marble inset sets a distinguished mood. The vanity presents two louvered doors and two drawers below a solid-surface countertop with a Kohler undermount china sink, with two mirrored medicine cabinet doors above. Inboard, a shower with a bi-fold obscured-glass door features a tiled sole and a wall-mounted shower fixture. The toilet is a full-size Headhunter model, accompanied by two cabinets and an opening porthole with Roman shades and a blackout shade. The space benefits from four overhead LED lights, a large storage cabinet, an exhaust fan, and an A/C vent with a dedicated digital A/C control that serves both heads.

Port side queen bed cabin

Entered from inboard, the raised queen-size berth lies athwartships off the outboard bulkhead, crowned by an upholstered headboard and flanked above by two opening portholes with drapes and a blackout shade. Four drawers beneath the berth and toe-kick rope lighting add smart utility. On either side of the berth, three-door nightstands provide elegant storage. Inboard aft, a corner cabinet supports a 32" Samsung TV with storage below; forward, a cedar-lined hanging locker with a bi-fold door precedes the entrance to the cabin’s head. Overhead, nine LED lights and digital A/C control tailor comfort to perfection.

Port guest head

Entered from aft, the guest head features a generous single-basin vanity with three cabinets and three doors below, framed by a glass-tile backsplash and three mirrored medicine cabinets above. The toilet is a full-size Headhunter model. Outboard, a Jacuzzi tub sits behind clear glass sliding doors with a porthole within, while five LED lights and an exhaust fan above ensure a bright, fresh environment.

Starboard side guest cabin

Entered from aft, the starboard guest cabin offers twin raised single berths with upholstered headboards, four cabinet doors beneath the inboard berth, and four large drawers under the outboard berth. Inboard aft, a corner shelf carries a 19" Sharp TV. Above the outboard berth, two opening portholes rest behind drapes and a blackout shade, while at the foot of the outboard berth, a cedar-lined hanging locker with a bi-fold door stands ready. Between the berths forward, the ensuite head awaits. The cabin features seven overhead LED lights and digital A/C controls.

Starboard guest cabin head

A warm wood vanity with a door and two drawers supports a Corian countertop with a china sink and widespread faucets, set against a glass-tile backsplash with two mirrored medicine cabinets above. The toilet is a Headhunter model, positioned beneath an opening porthole with a shade. The shower features a bi-fold obscured-glass door with a wall-mounted or handheld fixture and dedicated light. Overhead, four LED lights and an exhaust fan keep the space bright and ventilated.

Foredeck

Forward, raised aluminum bulwarks and teak laid over aluminum decks set a purposeful tone, framed by aluminum bow rails and stanchions capped with varnished rail and dual vinyl-covered lifelines. Varnished cap rails gleam above gutters with freeing ports for proper drainage. An aluminum/acrylic deck hatch leads to the crew cabin, while two built-in aluminum foredeck storage lockers, each with cushions and covers, double as casual seating. Ground tackle includes a galvanized thru-hull Danforth-type anchor to starboard, an Ideal 32V windlass with wildcat, up/down foot switches for both windlass and capstan, and an all-chain galvanized rode. A built-in bow seat offers removable cushions, a cover, and storage below; a bow pennant staff with a varnished pennant pole adds classic flair. Forward visibility is defined by a five-panel windshield with three wipers/washers and a black Textilene windscreen, while International navigational lights and port and starboard fender tracks along the house sides complete a seamanlike foredeck.

Side decks

Side-deck movement is confident and secure with a four-step vertical Marquipt boarding ladder and an eight-step Marquipt Tide Ride ladder, teak over aluminum decking underfoot, and vast full-beam storage lockers to port and starboard. Sliding Pilothouse doors port and starboard, purposeful rail breaks at midship, four overhead lights, and two hinged doors opening into the Dining area make deck circulation and access effortless.

Lazarette

A six-rung ladder descends from the aft deck into a practical lazarette that holds two spare four-blade propellers, the steering gear, and a direct-expansion aft deck A/C unit rated at 24,000 BTU. Fluorescent lighting, organized storage boxes, and a Sentry 32V 30-amp battery charger support shipboard routines, while an opening aft leads to the new lazarette created within the hull extension. Here, equipment includes eight 8V batteries, the hydraulic davit motor, a 250-gallon above-deck water tank, an 800-gallon below-deck fuel tank, a high-water alarm, additional fluorescent lighting, and a large hinged deck hatch above the new lazarette for easy service access.

Flybridge equipment features:

The Flybridge is purpose-built for open-air enjoyment with a Venturi windscreen and non-skid painted decking. Port and starboard, 14'-long L-shaped lounges with covers, removable cushions, and storage below invite casual gatherings, while a large center cabinet with six hinged doors integrates a sink, a Magic Chef drink refrigerator, and a grill mount above. The hydraulically hinged mast carries spreader lights, two radar platforms, Garmin 6' radar antennas, an HD7 KVH TracVision dome, “meal/absent” lights, several GPS sensors, and discreet downlights. Forward shade and function are perfected by a 14'-long aluminum bow Bimini top, and amenities include a chest freezer with cover, low-level LED deck lighting, stereo speakers, and a deck washdown spigot.

Flybridge helm equipment

At the upper helm, situational mastery comes via two Garmin 12" touchscreen MFDs paired with a Simrad AP70 autopilot head, two DDEC electronic engine monitors, DDEC electronic engine controls, and DDEC emergency control with station-active controls. Data clarity is enhanced by two Garmin 4" displays and two Jabsco searchlight controls, all centered on a stainless steel helm wheel with key start/stop switches. Precision docking is aided by a Naiad bow thruster joystick, while a Fusion stereo head sets the soundtrack. Comfort and access are ensured with two upholstered helm chairs with footrests and four hinged access panels opening into cavernous storage beneath the brow, plus a fitted helm cover, a 5" magnetic compass, and an ICOM M506 VHF with protective cover.

Boat deck

The boat deck features non-skid painted aluminum decks and a Viking life raft with inspection due 8/27, alongside a chest freezer with cover and an EPIRB for safety at sea. A UMT tender crane rated at 1,800 lbs. services generous open space engineered to carry a large tender with ease.

Crew area

Down eight carpeted steps from the Pilothouse, a watertight door aft opens to the engine room, while forward the crew foyer presents a durable Lonseal vinyl sole, a Samsung washer, and an Electrolux dryer. To port, the Captain’s cabin enjoys a private head; fully forward, the crew cabin also benefits from a private head, ensuring autonomy and discretion for all aboard.

Captain's cabin

Outboard along the port hull side, a raised double berth sits over six drawers, while inboard a desk with a drawer and bookshelf above provides a proper shipboard office. At the foot of the berth, a 32" Samsung TV faces a cedar-lined, auto-lit hanging locker. The cabin is bright and practical with two opening portholes, a Lonseal vinyl sole, six overhead LED lights, and digital A/C controls. The ensuite head offers a Galley Maid toilet, a vanity with storage below and sink above, and a two-door medicine cabinet; the stall shower features a bi-fold door, a seat, and a storage cabinet.

Crew cabin

Forward to starboard, an upper/lower bunk arrangement places the berths outboard, with two opening portholes above the upper and three large drawers beneath the lower. Each berth is served by an individual reading light. Inboard, a chest of three drawers sits beneath an inset mirrored panel, while at the foot of the berths, a cedar-lined, auto-lit hanging locker stands ready. Further forward lies the head. The cabin includes a Lonseal vinyl sole, digital A/C controls, five LED light fixtures, and a Samsung 24" TV.

Crew head

Furthest forward, the crew head features a Headhunter toilet, a vanity with storage below and sink above, and a mirrored medicine cabinet. In the forepeak, a stall shower with a bi-fold door grants direct access to the chain locker, ensuring inspection and maintenance are straightforward.

Engine room equipment

Mechanical confidence begins with twin 1,080 HP 12V92 Detroit Diesel DDEC main engines on electronic controls, backed by a dedicated DDEC emergency system and emergency shut-down cables. A Leeson 32V oil-change pump with manifold, two 230V blower fans, and triple Racor 1000FH fuel filters for each engine safeguard reliability, while Detroit Diesel DD273EV transmissions with 2.55:1 ratio, Tides Marine dripless shaft seals, and 3" stainless steel propeller shafts drive power forward. Generators benefit from manual fuel pumps and two remote Racor 500FG fuel filters. Four integral fuel tanks carry 1,200 gallons in the forward centerline tank, 1,000 gallons amidships, 830 gallons aft, and 800 gallons in the new lazarette. Freshwater capacity is equally robust with two amidships tanks totaling 1,400 gallons, supplied by two Headhunter 230V water pumps valved for instant changeover and two Isotemp stainless steel 30-gallon water heaters. Dockside water service runs through a pressure regulator, while a 32V macerator with Y-valve manages discharge as appropriate. Climate control is assured by a recently replaced 120,000 BTU Cruiseair chilled-water A/C system with a 230V circulation pump. The hydraulic steering system employs a Baldor 220V steering pump with Jastram hydraulics, and seawater protection includes Perko and Groco bronze-alloy strainers. Safety is paramount with a CO2 auto/manual fire system for the engine room, complemented by a Naiad four-blade hydraulic bow thruster and a Naiad 252 hydraulic stabilizer system. Bilge management includes three 24V Rule bilge pumps with auto/manual modes, a 32V bilge manifold, and a 32V suction pump in the engine room. Spares and systems include two four-blade spare propellers, a Naiad bow thruster hydraulic reservoir with pressure gauges, a Naiad back-up cooling pump system, Awlgrip-finished engines with a chrome package, two CRS-300 coolant recovery bottles, an Airsep crankcase ventilation system, and a Headhunter water pressure storage tank. Utility is rounded out by a hydraulic PTO off the starboard engine, an air compressor with a large storage tank, A/C fluorescent lighting and DC incandescent lighting for the engine room, an additional oil-change pump with manifold, an aluminum-topped workbench with vise and stainless steel sink, a six-drawer tool chest, painted deck plates, a Husky four-drawer tool chest, and a convenient spigot with hose.

Electrical

Electrical architecture is comprehensive, with a 120/240V AC system fed by two 120/240V 100-amp shore cords on Glendenning cable reels and a separate 30-amp shore cord outlet with cord for the yacht’s tender, all bonded by a full bonding system and monitored by a CAPAC hull protection system. A resilient 12/24/32V DC system is supported by two 30kW Northern Lights generators (1800 RPM, 4-cylinder, 60Hz), eight 8V batteries feeding twin 32V banks, two 12V Group 31 generator batteries, two 12V 8D house batteries, and four Guest battery switches. Charging is handled by a Sentry 32V 30-amp charger and a Mastervolt 12/35-3 12V 35-amp charger, with analog volt and amp gauges at the engine room panel. Shore power quality is optimized through two Acme 25KVA transformers with a Boost option selectable at 5% or 10% via rotary switch, and each generator enjoys a full gauge package with start/stop. The main engine room electrical panel presents two analog volt meters, an amp meter with a six-position rotary switch, forty 220V circuits with magnetic breakers, thirty-five 120V circuits with magnetic breakers, five four-position rotary switches for gen1, gen2, shore top, and shore bottom, all protected behind a clear Lexan cover.
