Overview

The Carver Trojan 400 Express pairs the Carver Yachts signature winged arch and a luxurious cherry wood interior with the exhilarating performance of a modified-V hull.

Topside, sunbathers will appreciate the recessed foredeck sun pad and the generous scale of the cockpit. With its U-shaped seating and table, sunlounge, and refrigerator, the cockpit aboard JP5 creates an effortless on-the-water platform whether at anchor, cruising, or entertaining.

Below deck, the spacious galley, dining, and salon areas are bathed in natural light and fresh air through the two large overhead opening hatches. The galley is fully equipped with an electric cooktop, countertop ice maker, microwave, refrigerator, storage cabinets with drawers, and granite-style countertops, while custom upholstered seating wraps gracefully around the serving table for relaxed dining.

Accommodations are equally inviting. Forward, the master stateroom features a queen-sized berth and private access to the head and shower. Amidships, the large dinette converts to a double berth, and aft, the U-shaped salon sofa transforms into a mid-cabin double berth with its own privacy curtain.

JP5 is equipped with the optional generator and air conditioning systems, delivering comfort and dependable electrical power on the go to extend every adventure. The air conditioning also operates in reverse cycle for heat, and an additional system upgrade adds an electric element that efficiently provides heat without running the AC pump or reverse cycle.

Galley

The galley presents a molded granite-style countertop with a recessed sink, complemented by cabinetry above and below with drawers for organized storage. Appliances include an under-counter Nova Kool marine refrigerator, a countertop ice maker, a microwave oven, and a Princess double-burner glass electric cooktop, while hot water is provided by a six-gallon water heater.

Master stateroom

The master stateroom is a serene retreat centered around a queen-sized berth, inviting restful nights in elegant comfort. Complementing its tranquility, it offers private access to the head and shower, creating a refined, self-contained haven onboard.

The master stateroom head is equipped with a VacuFlush toilet, while the shower is thoughtfully separated from the sink area by a sliding glass door to enhance privacy and maintain a clean, dry environment.

Electrical equipment

At the helm, a Raytheon RL80C chart plotter pairs with a 48-mile marine radar—original and in reliable working condition—while a Standard Horizon VHF ensures clear communications. Entertainment is elevated by a stereo system with a subwoofer and speakers serving both the cabin and cockpit, and LED lighting throughout the cockpit sets the perfect nighttime ambiance. Shipboard power is supported by a 110 VAC electrical circuit, and comfort is enhanced by a reverse-cycle system for heat.

Mechanical equipment

Power comes from dual high-performance Horizon engines, the top-of-the-line motors of their era—clean, well maintained, and robust, delivering ample performance. A Kohler 7.3 kW generator with approximately 550 hours provides reliable auxiliary power, while Borg Warner Velvet Drive gears and heat exchangers underscore a drivetrain engineered for longevity. Bennett 12 V trim tabs fine-tune ride and attitude, and an automatic engine-bay fire suppression system adds peace of mind underway. Ground tackle is equally capable, with a Delta 35 lb plow anchor on chain rode managed by a Maxwell windlass. Shore power is handled via dual 30 A 110 V inputs dedicated to main power and air conditioning, and serviceability is enhanced by an Oil X-Change lubrication transfer system for changing oils in the engines and generator.
