LUCY is an impressive Ellis 36 hardtop express crafted by the Ellis Boat Company of Southwest Harbor, Maine, and optioned with thoughtful upgrades that set her apart. Her heart is a commercially rated Yanmar 500hp, delivering an easy cruise between 12 and 18 knots, while twin main fuel tanks were later complemented at the Ellis yard by two additional smaller tanks with a fuel transfer pump, extending range for confident longer passages. To port of the main engine sits a 12 kW Master Volt Whisper Generator supplying 110 power and hydraulic pressure to the variable-speed bow and stern thrusters; the stern thruster can rotate 90 degrees and, when required, provide forward propulsion as a prudent backup. Below deck, the sleeping quarters, galley, and head are notably spacious and comfortable, and whether on shore power or generator, air conditioning keeps summers cool while reverse-cycle heat extends the season with ease. Propulsion

Power is provided by a Yanmar 6CXMGTE-2 inboard diesel from 2005 producing a total of 500hp, turning a direct drive and a bronze five-blade propeller; the engine shows 2199 hours and the drive is a dependable inboard direct-drive configuration with diesel fuel.

Specifications

The Ellis 36 measures 36ft length overall with a 13.17ft beam, a maximum draft of 3.83ft, and a 33.33ft length at the waterline. Seating is arranged for eight, the windlass is electric, and the electrical circuit is 12V. Tankage includes a 100 gal fresh water tank, 310 gal of fuel capacity, and a 25 gal holding tank. Accommodations provide one guest cabin and one guest head.

The yacht inventory is thoughtfully complete, including dock lines, fenders, a 30 amp shore power cord, removable stainless steel St Croix davits from 2021, a 2022 AB Inflatable with a 2022 Yamaha outboard motor, a 2022 handheld rechargeable LED spotlight, the required Coast Guard safety gear, a canister life raft mounted on the hardtop, a flag staff with ensign, a bow staff for a yacht club burgee, brand-new 2025 exterior cockpit cushions, a helm deck enclosure, and an aft deck bimini with stainless support bars. The helm deck is appointed for comfort and versatility with two Hella Marine turbo fans, three opening forward-facing windows, and two Bomar overhead hatches fitted with Ocean Air shades and screens; both the helm and companion seats are hydraulically adjustable, while the portside dinette converts to a full berth and the starboard helm seat converts to a second full berth. Dining is served by two teak fold-out hinged tables, refreshments rest neatly in five stainless fold-out drink holders, and underfoot a varnished teak sole with non-skid enhances footing. Weather protection is excellent, with a full enclosure canvas for the cockpit, a canvas cockpit awning, aft canvas and isinglass drop curtains, and side canvas and isinglass with the clears replaced in 2021; interior canvas sun-protection curtains are installed with snaps at the interior helm deck. At the helm, controls for the Master Volt Whisper Generator sit alongside a stainless steel eight-spoke Destroyer steering wheel, a trumpet stainless steel air horn, trim tab, bow and stern thruster, and windlass controls, plus a Ritchie compass and Fuel Guard (Four Tanks). Visibility and safety are supported by three windshield wiper controls with a reservoir for washer fluid in the engine room, while navigation and communication are anchored by a Simrad Chart Plotter NSS23 EVO3 display, Simrad radar, Simrad autopilot, Standard Horizon VHF GX2100, and a secondary plotter Garmin GPS Map 546 with AIS integration. Lighting and entertainment are covered by a Guest spotlight with controls and a Fusion Blue Tooth stereo, with 12V plugs conveniently located to port and starboard. The galley is sensibly equipped with an Isotherm refrigerator with freezer, a Panasonic stainless steel microwave, a Process three-burner stainless steel stove with oven, and a Moen stainless steel sink faucet, all set into a Corian countertop; galley contents convey with the sale of the boat, and there is an ice box/dry box together with a generous complement of cabinets for provisions and cookware. Underfoot and outside, the fiberglass semi-displacement hull carries an integral solid fiberglass skeg to protect the prop and rudder, while the fiberglass deck is vacuum-bagged with a Core Cell structural foam core and finished with custom non-skid surfaces; the bilges are gelcoat-finished, and the exterior benefits from ISO NPG gelcoat with blister-resistant Vinyl Lester resin. In 2021, the hull and running gear were refinished, media blasted, sanded, barrier coated, finished with Micron CSC Black, and the running gear received antifouling; the hull is Awl Griped. Fuel is carried in twin 105 gallon aluminum tanks midship (2018) and twin 50 gallon aluminum tanks aft for a total capacity of 310 gallons, complemented by a single 100 gallon aluminum fresh water tank and a single 25 gallon aluminum black water tank. A fiberglass swim platform with teak decking on the top surface invites easy boarding, enhanced by an under-mount swim ladder installed in 2018; propulsion is delivered through a five-blade 26'' propeller. Deck amenities include a hot and cold aft deck shower, saltwater washdown fittings on deck, and a Lewmar anchor windlass with controls at the helm and foot switches on deck, plus a 12 volt plug on the bow; ground tackle is upgraded to an Ultra stainless anchor, 21 pound, from 2018, and secure movement is ensured by a stainless bow rail and stainless handrails on the cabin top. In the head compartment, a Sea Land fresh water Vacu Flush toilet pairs with a separate stall shower featuring a full enclosure and seat; the space is finished with a Corian countertop and sink, a Moen faucet, a mirror, and ample cabinet storage for essential head items.
