Preliminary listing. Conceived by the renowned British multihull designer Nigel Irens, the third generation of the Gunboat series—constructed at what is now the HH Catamarans factory between 2012 and 2018—has long been celebrated for best-in-class performance, quality, durability, and aesthetics. DEFIANCE is arguably the most updated and most refined GB60 for cruising, distinguished by custom transom extensions, a modernized hybrid-propulsion system, and operator-friendly systems and ergonomics. She has had only two owners, and the current captain/manager has been involved with the program for approximately eight years. Over the past few years she has benefited from millions of dollars’ worth of upgrades, highlighted by a refit in 2021 and another comprehensive yard period in ’25/’26. Presented for sale in top shape, DEFIANCE is ready for her next owner.

Recent and notable upgrades and updates

From 2018 through 2026, this yacht has benefited from a disciplined program of enhancements. The standing rigging and rig hardware were replaced in 2018, complemented by new OYS sail drives the same year. In 2021 the mast and boom were professionally painted, the motors were replaced, the rudder bearings and steering were updated, and the electronic navigation instruments were brought up to date. A comprehensive mast-down rig service and tune followed in 2025, when the shroud loops and strops were replaced, the headstay was renewed, and the running rigging was updated; start batteries and house batteries were also replaced that year. The sail inventory was elevated in 2026 with a new North Sails 3Di mainsail and Solent jib. Systems modernization included two new Spectra watermakers in 2025, the replacement of all pumps across 2025-2026, and major electrical updates completed in 2025-2026. The interior received thoughtful refinements as well, with carpentry, countertops, and soft goods refreshed during 2020-2021.
