Overview

Impeccably cared for, GALILEA showcases tasteful enhancements that elevate both style and performance. A sought-after sunken bar anchors the main salon, while the enclosed pilothouse/skylounge features a full entertainment bar, each conveniently connected to the aft decks.

This luxury motor yacht presents four refined staterooms distinct from the crew area, and an interior rich with onyx, marble, and granite paired with bespoke upholstery. With new galley appliances, LED illumination, and refreshed navigation systems, GALILEA delivers superyacht sophistication and modern bluewater cruising comfort in a skylounge pilothouse yacht.

Detailed Description

Overview

Meticulously cared for from stem to stern, GALILEA presents a series of thoughtful upgrades that elevate her already exceptional pedigree. She delights with a coveted sunken bar in the full-beam main salon and an enclosed pilothouse/skylounge featuring a spacious entertainment bar—both ideally positioned for effortless service to the aft decks. Four beautifully appointed staterooms for the Owner and Guests are intentionally set apart from the crew’s custom-designed aft quarters, preserving privacy and serenity on every passage. Inside, natural stone surfaces—Onyx, marble, and granite—meet custom high-end upholstery to create an ambiance of modern luxury, while all-new galley appliances, comprehensive LED lighting, and updated electronics make life aboard as seamless as it is sophisticated.

Refined yet resolutely capable, GALILEA embodies Hatteras’ proven quality and sea-keeping ability. Recent works underscore her diligent stewardship: topside paint in 2023; an annual haul-out with full bottom service in June 2025; and a suite of updated electronics in 2024/2025, now complemented by Starlink connectivity and FLIR night vision added in 2024. The main deck and lower deck are dressed in beautiful African Mahogany, while the enclosed pilothouse is finished in light Maple for a luminous sense of space. New headliners on the main deck, pilothouse, galley, stairwells, and master stateroom were completed in 2022. A large full-beam salon flows forward to a formal dining area, and ARC double entry doors connect the aft deck to the salon with a graceful flourish. Continuous professional maintenance completes a picture of a yacht that is as elegant as she is ready for the horizon.

Accommodations

GALILEA welcomes up to 8 guests in four staterooms, with thoughtful separation from the crew’s domain. Two crew cabins accommodate up to four, ensuring first-class service remains discreet while every guest enjoys absolute comfort.

Walkthrough

Step aboard at the swim platform, where a hot/cold shower, removable stanchions, a portable ladder for easy water access, and a water-tight door to the crew area and engine room set a purposeful tone. Curved stairways port and starboard sweep up to the aft deck, home to an inviting outdoor dining table with settee and chairs. To starboard, a cabinet with sink and granite top sits beneath a TV that descends gracefully from the ceiling, while freshwater wash-down adds practical convenience. A portside door leads below to the crew quarters and engine room, and nearby steps ascend to the wheelhouse/skylounge deck.

Sliding glass doors reveal a full-beam salon and dining space of generous proportions. Immediately to starboard, an elegant curved granite-topped bar—complete with ice maker, refrigerator, sink, and ample stowage—beckons for aperitifs. A large, comfortable sofa anchors the space for cocktail hour, movie night, or quiet time with a laptop, while to port a lounge area with sofa invites relaxed conversation. Forward, a high-gloss oval dining table with custom chairs creates a formal setting. One forward cabinet hides a temperature-controlled wine cooler; two illuminated glass cabinets bring artwork to life. A single occasional chair graces the port aft corner of the salon.

Two steps up, the U-shaped galley shines with updated appliances and handsome granite countertops. Beyond, a large dinette and settee offer the perfect spot to chat with the chef, linger over breakfast, or catch the news on the wall-mounted TV. Side doors port and starboard open to the walkaround decks. Opposite the galley, a Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer stands ready, and a curving staircase leads to the enclosed pilothouse/skylounge.

Forward and above, the pilothouse/skylounge brings the bridge and piloting functions to center stage. Two helm chairs face a clean, up-to-date instrument console that spans the width of the space. A raised observation settee with a small raised table sits to port, elevating sightlines for guests underway. Farther aft, a large U-shaped wet bar with sink, refrigerator, ice maker, and plentiful storage mirrors the boat’s social heart; opposite, a lounge with settee and cocktail table creates a second convivial zone. A lift-mounted television rises near the bar, and the aft window at the bar descends electrically to open the service directly to the aft deck.

Outside on the aft boat deck, a settee with table, an electric barbeque grill, stairs down to the main deck, a davit, and the tender round out the elevated alfresco experience. Back on the main deck, a starboard corridor leads forward from the dining area past the day head to port, then down to a foyer that serves the owner and guest accommodations. Here, cabinetry discreetly conceals a washer and dryer, with additional stowage for linens and supplies.

Aft lies the full-beam master stateroom, its centerline king bed flanked by nightstands. Long bureaus with drawers run along both sides, while his-and-her cedar-lined closets are divided by a wall-mounted television. Dual-entry his-and-her bathrooms are joined by a sumptuous shared shower with built-in seats; luxurious appointments include medicine cabinets, mirrored finishes, and light onyx countertops.

Continuing forward, the port guest stateroom features a centerline queen bed, a hanging locker, generous cabinetry, and an en-suite bathroom with tub. To starboard, a guest stateroom with two single beds in an over/under L-shaped configuration offers a hanging locker, cabinets, and an en-suite bathroom. Furthest forward, the VIP stateroom presents a centerline queen, two hanging lockers, drawers, cabinets, and an en-suite bath. All bathrooms are finished with onyx or marble countertops.

On the foredeck, the windlass, anchor, hatch access to the chain locker, and a locker dedicated to the shore power electrical connection are smartly arranged. The crew area and engine room are reached from the aft deck stairs or via the swim platform door. Descending from the aft deck, the crew/engine room foyer includes a full-size refrigerator/freezer and leads forward to the engine room. Aft, the captain’s cabin offers a centerline queen, hanging locker, and drawers; a second cabin provides over/under bunks with storage. The crew shares a head with a stall shower.

Construction

GALILEA is built on a solid fiberglass hull with a glass/Divinycell superstructure, delivering a reassuringly robust platform for serious cruising. Her dimensions speak to presence and proportion: a length overall of 80' 0" (24.38 m), a commanding 21' 4" (6.50 m) beam, and a 6' (1.83 m) draft, with a tonnage of 125 GRT. Capacities are equally compelling for extended autonomy: fuel at 2,158 gallons (8,169 liters), fresh water at 388 gallons (1,469 liters), grey water at 252 gallons (954 liters), and black water at 388 gallons (1,469 liters).

Machinery

Power comes from twin Caterpillar C32 turbocharged main engines rated at 1650 hp, driving through ZF gearboxes and showing Port 2555 hours and Starboard 2555 hours (Oct 2025). Ship’s power is 120/240 V AC, single phase, 60 Hz, supported by two Onan 27.5 kW generators with hours of Port 3985 and Starboard 3525 (Oct 2025). Shoreside, two retractable shore cables—100‑amp and 50‑amp—are operated by remote for smooth connections.

Electrical reserves are robust: the main engines start on 24V DC via two 8D 12V DC starting batteries, the generators start off either or both main engine start banks at 24V DC, and general service is supported by two 8D batteries. All lighting has been upgraded to LED, with mood lighting enhanced by rope lighting and dimmer switches throughout. Climate control is assured by Cruise Air with two chillers, reverse‑cycle heat, and a professionally cleaned AC system.

Critical systems are comprehensive: a Sea Recovery Aqua Whisper SRC 1200‑2AWC watermaker producing 1200 gpd; Naiad Multi‑Sea 2000 hydraulic stabilizers; a Naiad hydraulic bow thruster at 38 HP; and Hypnautic Sea Star hydraulic steering with stations in the pilothouse and on the aft deck, plus Yacht Controller. Emergency steering is provided by a dedicated control station stored beneath the wheelhouse console. The sewage system comprises a 388‑gallon fiberglass black water tank discharging overboard or via dockside pump‑out, serving seven freshwater toilets. Fresh water delivery is powered by two Headhunter pressure pumps with a dockside pressure regulator and gauge. Bilge safety is ensured by Rule 24V submersible pumps with Rule‑Mate float switches and separate high bilge alarms throughout. Helm control is available from the wheelhouse, a port‑side aft deck drive station, and by remote via Yacht Controller. Daily living is elevated by a central vacuum system with four outlets.

Communications, navigation, and entertainment systems

Communications are anchored by an HD 7 KVH Direct TV satellite system, VHF radios, and cameras monitoring the engine room and aft deck. Navigation is confidence‑inspiring with a Furuno FAR 2127 radar feeding one VEI 15’ display for radar plotting and CCTV; a Simrad AP25 autopilot; and depth sounder, video sounder, sonar, wind, speed, and more presented via Garmin systems. A Richie Powerdamp magnetic compass provides steadfast reference.

The ship’s monitoring is centralized through a Hatteras Monitor Display for the Hatteras Ship’s Monitoring System (new 2019). Positioning and route management are supported by a Garmin GPS Plotter 8000 (new 2019), a Garmin GPS Plotter 7608 with wind added (all new 2019), a Garmin GPS Plotter 5212, and a Nobeltec GPS chart system and plotter. VHF coverage includes an ICOM IC‑M602 and an ICOM IC‑M605 (new 2019). Useful enhancements include FLIR night vision, Starlink connectivity, a nightlight, two ACR spotlight controls, and windshield wipers that keep the view clear.

Entertainment is superbly catered for: a 50” TV on a lift in the salon, a lift‑mounted TV in the skylounge, a drop‑down TV on the aft deck, and wall‑mounted TVs in all staterooms and the captain’s cabin. Audio throughout includes various combinations of stereo/CD/VCR/DVD, with surround sound in the salon and stereo speakers on the aft deck.

Galley and laundry equipment

The main galley is fully outfitted for gourmet service, featuring a four‑burner induction cooktop, a Sharp carousel convection oven, and a Sharp carousel sensor microwave/convection. An electric grill awaits on the skylounge aft deck for alfresco grilling. Refrigeration is abundant with a Sub‑Zero refrigerator/freezer in the galley, a refrigerator/freezer in the crew foyer, and a Scotsman refrigerator in the skylounge bar. Ice is on demand from two Scotsman ice makers in the salon and skylounge bars. A U‑Line wine cooler is concealed within a dining area cabinet, while a KitchenAid dishwasher and a trash compactor make easy work of cleanup.

Laundry is equally convenient, with a Whirlpool stackable washer/dryer in the stateroom foyer, complemented by a second washer and a second dryer in the crew area.

Deck equipment

Deck gear is comprehensive and cruise‑ready, with an anchor windlass system serving a 110 lb stainless‑steel plow anchor, 300 ft of chain, and 250 ft of rode. On the skylounge aft deck, a Quick Lift davit rated at 1500 lbs handles tender operations with ease, complemented by a ZAR 11 ft tender with Suzuki outboard (2015). Boarding is facilitated by side‑boarding gangway and stairs plus a ladder, while hot/cold exterior showers on the aft deck and swim platform make rinsing off effortless.

Security, firefighting and safety equipment

Security is underpinned by a CCTV system with two cameras—one in the engine room and one on the aft deck—displayed on two monitors in the wheelhouse, and a ship’s safe located in the master stateroom. Fire protection is comprehensive, with overhead optical smoke detectors throughout, a fixed FM‑200 Sea Fire H120 system, and a 15 lb portable CO2 extinguisher for rapid response.
