Detailed Description
2012 Island Packet 465 - Harmony
Balanced with a blue‑water soul and an inviting onboard life, the Island Packet 465 marries exceptional livability and practical cruising features with impeccable craftsmanship and handsome good looks. The large center cockpit is more than a comfortable gathering spot for the crew; it’s a secure working platform from which all necessary sail adjustments can be made underway. Recessed foredecks with bulwarks, uncluttered wide side decks and full‑length cabin‑top handrails deliver confident footing and safety on deck, while sail controls for setting, furling and sheeting lead to the security of the cockpit. As striking as the 465 appears on the water, she is even more compelling below: an expansive main saloon with more than seven feet of headroom, a warm ensemble of hand‑crafted teak furnishings, abundant cabinetry and intelligently conceived storage, a navigation station to delight any world cruiser, a gourmet galley fit for a master chef, and two of the most generous staterooms in her class.
Harmony has been cherished by her original owner since 2012 and has been maintained to a high standard within the IYC charter fleet. Exceptional attention to detail and rigorous routine servicing have kept Harmony in top shape throughout her time with IYC, and she is equally ready to sail away for private adventure or to remain in charter service. For details on how yacht charter management can work for you, please inquire with IYC owner Andrea King.
Her notable equipment includes bow thrusters, a Raymarine autopilot, and a Kato radar arch carrying four 85 W solar panels. Practical upgrades such as two additional shower sump pumps add reliability, while the anchor windlass and a 12' Caribe dinghy with outboard extend your autonomy at anchor. Auxiliary power is provided by a Yanmar 4JH4‑TBE 75 hp diesel, showing 2,900 engine hours.
Entering via comfortably angled companionway steps, your eye is drawn to full‑length settees; the port settee extends to the centerline to form a double berth, and both settees serve perfectly as sea berths. The large main dining table stows vertically against a bulkhead wine rack, opening the saloon for easy socializing, while a smaller removable table can be mounted to port or starboard for flexible dining or entertaining. CE Category A – Ocean rated safety windows grant a panoramic view, and overhead lights together with numerous reading lamps—each with individual dimmers—create a refined, adjustable ambiance throughout.
Adjacent to the companionway, the deluxe navigation center features a high‑backed swivel armchair, an inlaid chart table with storage tray, and ample cabinetry to mount a wide array of electronics, with a wet locker within easy reach. The gourmet galley is bright and airy thanks to opening ports on both sides. Top‑loading refrigerator and freezer compartments with digitally controlled cooling units offer generous cold storage; either compartment can be set for refrigerated or frozen use by adjusting the controls, and a pull‑out refrigerated drawer keeps popular beverages and provisions at the ready.
Two spacious staterooms and abundant storage make the 465 as comfortable harbor‑hopping as she is living aboard or crossing oceans. Aft, the owner’s suite features a double island berth and a large hanging locker with extra‑height rods outboard, plus convenient access through the aft bulkhead to the generous lazarette. Forward, the guest stateroom also offers a double island berth and plentiful storage. Both cabins enjoy numerous opening ports, large overhead hatches and deck vents for exceptional light and ventilation, with berths surrounded by a thoughtful array of cabinets, lockers, drawers and shelves; each berth lifts on a large hinged lid to reveal blanket stowage. Both luxurious heads feature vanities with solid acrylic countertops, separate shower stalls with folding acrylic doors, and standard VacuFlush® heads.
Exclusive design hallmarks such as the Full Foil Keel® confer the exceptional stability and inherently easy motion at sea that define Island Packet’s dedication to cruising safety and comfort—offshore or at the dock.
Rigging particulars underscore the yacht’s offshore readiness. Mainsail rigging includes a halyard 1/2'' × 120' Buccaneer Tech 2, sheet 1/2'' × 120', topping tail 3/8'' × 45', and a topping wire 3/16'' × 45' in 7×7 wire.
