Detailed Description

Remarks

BEAU GESTE is a beautifully kept later‑model example of the beautiful Little Harbor 60 series, first launched in 1994 as hull number nine of twelve built. Purposefully configured for effortless singlehanded sailing, she features a cockpit layout unmatched in her class, placing every sail control and winch at the helm and providing easy side exits to the main deck without climbing over a high coaming, all complemented by a long list of equipment for easy, safe extended cruising. Unlike many modern cruising yachts, she showcases finely crafted joiner work above and below decks, with labor‑intensive detailing rarely seen today.

With her low‑wetted‑surface design, sea‑kindly hull form, deep, efficient centerboard, and powerful sail plan, BEAU GESTE is a dream to sail in all conditions. With a draft of only 5'-4", she also ventures into shallow waters normally limited to much smaller yachts, vastly expanding the possibilities for adventure and solitude.

Now with just her second owner, BEAU GESTE has been lavishly cared for and benefits from a long list of valuable upgrades for her next owner to proudly enjoy. The most recent include new sails, rod rigging, mast paint, all canvas, fresh interior and exterior cushions, and much more noted herein.

Accommodations and layout

BEAU GESTE welcomes six guests in three private cabins, each served by its own head and shower, within an interior crafted in satin-finished teak accented by solid trim, substantial cabin doors, and expansive veneered surfaces. Gloss-finished teak-and-holly floorboards with locking lift handles set a yachting tone, while varnished teak hull ceilings and custom tongue-and-groove overhead panels—fully removable and secured by varnished teak trim—lend a tailored sophistication, complemented by handsome faux deck beams in the salon. Bureau countertops are marble, lee cloths secure most berths, custom bedding is fitted throughout, and all interior fabrics were renewed in 2025.

Forward, a large forepeak at the bow is purpose-designed for sails, fenders, dock lines, and running rigging, with a chain locker and a divided area for secondary anchor rode. A workbench with vise and Craftsman tool drawers enhances utility, and access is available either through a large deck hatch or via a door from the starboard guest head.

Aft to starboard lies one of the two guest cabins, featuring upper and lower berths, a hanging locker, numerous drawers, a bureau, drop-down lockers above the berth, two deck hatches, and an opening porthole. Forward is an en-suite head with electric toilet, a marble vanity with flush sink and mirror, shower faucet, a deck hatch, and a varnished teak floor grate. To port, the second guest cabin mirrors this arrangement with upper and lower berths, a hanging locker, numerous drawers—including several below the berth—a bureau, two deck hatches, and an opening porthole; the port guest head is fitted out with details similar to the starboard side.

The main salon is spacious, bright, and exceptionally well ventilated thanks to her 16’ beam, six hull ports, and numerous hatches and opening portholes. To port, an inviting L-shaped dining area with an inboard settee is anchored by a varnished cherry dining table embellished with beautifully inlaid ebony borders. To starboard, a comfortable settee flanks an inlaid coffee table, with a stereo and a forward storage locker completing the arrangement.

Aft to starboard of the main salon and conveniently close to the companionway, the galley is refined and practical, with Corian countertops featuring inlays and a custom painted tile backsplash behind the double stainless steel sinks with faucet. A manual back-up freshwater pump adds reassurance, while cooking is handled by a Force 10 four-burner stove and oven supported by a microwave oven. Cold storage is generous, with front-loading refrigeration behind two doors and a top-loading freezer on the port side in the bar area. A swing-out trash bin streamlines clean-up, and natural light and airflow arrive through two portholes and one hull portlight.

Opposite, the nav station to port aft of the salon offers a dedicated seat with backrest, a lift-up chart table providing generous workspace, and built-in navigation electronics, while inboard, large custom switch panels control and monitor all ship functions.

A passageway leads aft to the owner’s cabin. Outboard, a large freezer/bar area with custom storage and an icemaker below is finished with Corian counters and a custom painted tile backsplash, while a dedicated wet locker stands aft. Inboard, ample storage lockers and large doors grant excellent access to the engine and generator space.

The inviting owner’s cabin spans the stern, with a double berth to port and a single berth to starboard, twin hanging lockers, numerous drawers, a custom chart drawer, and bookshelves. Light and ventilation abound through two hatches, four opening portholes, and two hull ports, and a companionway to the aft deck provides easy access as well as further airflow and daylight. Forward to starboard, the en-suite head with separate shower stall features a marble sink vanity, electric toilet, several storage lockers, an opening porthole, and varnished teak sole grates.

Electronics and navigation equipment

At the helm, twin Garmin ten-inch displays deliver crystal-clear navigation data, complemented by a Garmin fifteen-inch display at the nav station. The B&G 20/20 instruments comprise four multi displays and one analog display at the companionway, with analog wind displays on each side of the helm, plus two additional displays at the nav station and in the aft cabin. A Garmin autopilot, new in 2024, refines control, while Garmin VHF units at the companionway and at the nav station ensure confident communication. Connectivity is future-ready with a Starlink system added in 2025. Entertainment is equally considered, featuring an eighteen-inch flat-screen TV in the salon and the owner’s cabin, paired with a Fusion stereo system with multiple speakers.

Electrical system

The yacht’s DC electrical architecture runs at 12 volts, delivered by eight AGM 12V 8D batteries installed in 2020 for a total capacity of 800 amp hours. Forward, two dedicated 12 volt batteries power the bow thruster, with additional separate 12 volt batteries serving the engine, generator, and 12 volt electronics. An emergency parallel switch allows the house bank to start the main engine when required. The AC system operates at 120/240 volts, single phase, selectable 50 or 60 cycle, and is anchored by a 9 kW Northern Lights generator showing 399 hours as of 8/2026. Shore power is handled via two 50 amp inlets feeding a Ward 12.5 KVA 240/120 volt step-down transformer, while energy management and redundancy are enhanced by two Heart Interface inverter/chargers and two 40 amp battery chargers. Comfort and convenience are further supported by 12 volt fans throughout the interior, with boom lights illuminating the cockpit and aft deck.

Mechanical and engine

Power is delivered by a Perkins 6-354 six-cylinder 135 hp diesel engine showing 6,346 hours as of August 2026, turning a Maxprop three-blade feathering propeller with line cutters for efficient thrust and protection. Reliability has been enhanced with new injectors and a rebuilt cylinder head in 2023, complemented by a new fuel injector pump in 2025. Clean fuel delivery is ensured by dual Racor filters in parallel and a dedicated fuel transfer pump, while routine service is simplified by an engine oil change pump. Safety systems include an automatic engine room fire extinguisher and a high water bilge alarm, and close-quarters control is effortless with an Arcturus 12-volt bow thruster with foot controls at the helm.

Onboard comfort is assured by reverse-cycle air conditioning with three zones and an Espar D7L diesel heater with vents throughout, supported by a Grunert 110-volt refrigeration system and a Raritan icemaker. Fresh and saltwater pumps supply a 20-gallon hot water heater, a hot and cold shower on the aft deck housed in a flush locker, and a saltwater washdown on the foredeck. The yacht’s sanitation suite features three marine electric toilets and two holding tanks (30 gal total) with macerator and deck pump-out, monitored by tank level gauges. For peace of mind, dewatering is bolstered by two manual bilge pumps and two electric bilge pumps, and ventilation blowers serve the galley and aft head.

Mast, sails and rigging

Commanding the rig is a Hood hydraulic Sto’way mast and boom that were fully disassembled, rewired, and painted in 2025, complemented by a Sto’way furling motor rebuilt the same year. Furling control is assured by a Reckman hydraulic headstay furling system and a Lewmar Commander system, while the rod rigging is new in 2025 and all halyards were renewed in 2025. A Navtec hydraulic backstay and boom vang, with a cockpit-mounted control panel and painted white cylinders, deliver precise trim. A custom carbon whisker pole is securely stored on the mast with an Antal inboard end winch, and offshore readiness is underscored by a storm trysail track, a removable inner forestay with runners, spreader and foredeck lights, and a combination masthead tricolor anchor light.

Power handling is effortless with two Lewmar 66 electric self-tailing primaries, two Lewmar 58 electric self-tailing mainsheet and outhaul winches, two Lewmar 48 two-speed self-tailing staysail/runner winches, and three Lewmar 44 two-speed self-tailing halyard winches on the mast. The sail plan is equally current, featuring a Quantum furling mainsail from 2025, a Quantum furling 130% genoa from 2022, a forestaysail, and a Storm Trysail.

Hull and deck construction

BEAU GESTE features a pure centerboard configuration that elevates upwind performance, delivering a deep draft of 12’-3” with the board down and an exceptional shoal draft of only 5’-4” with the board up, opening vastly expanded cruising grounds. The hull is molded in FRP from female molds and cored with ¾” Airex foam for added strength and superior sound and thermal insulation; vinylester resins are specified on the exterior skins for the highest resistance to water osmosis. Tanks for water and fuel, along with the centerboard trunk, are molded in, while internal cast lead ballast is carried within integral fiberglass floor beams. Steering and control are assured by a balanced spade rudder and a laminated centerboard faired to a true NACA foil section, hoisted by cable to a deck winch.

The hull is Awlgripped white with a gold cove stripe, navy boot stripes, and a blue bottom, and is finished with a painted rubrail capped by a stainless steel striker. Above, the molded deck is FRP with Divinycell H-80 foam core for strength and stiffness; in way of deck equipment the core is upgraded to Divinycell H-200 high-density foam. The outer skin is built to ¼”, the inner skin to 3/16”, with cockpit sides and coaming in solid fiberglass, and all deck hatch landings molded in FRP. Main decks, the forward cabin top, and the cockpit sole are sheathed in laid teak decking, and the deck is Awlgripped white, with waterways repainted in 2025, complemented by white non-skid.

Deck and miscellaneous details

Purposeful deck equipment begins with a custom stainless stemhead fitting with dual anchor rollers, a Lewmar anchor windlass with foot switches and controls at the helm, a 75 lb stainless CQR primary anchor with chain rode, and a 65 lb stainless Excalibur secondary anchor with a rope/chain rode. Sailhandling is refined by custom stainless inboard and outboard genoa tracks paired with six Antal fairlead cars, Harken stainless mainsheet and genoa turning blocks, and three Harken deck blocks at the mast. For secure mooring, there are stainless stern chocks, bow chocks with stainless cleats, and two pairs of spring line chocks.

Natural light and ventilation abound through thirteen stainless opening deck hatches with new lenses and gaskets in 2024, twenty-two stainless opening portholes including four into the cockpit, and eight hull portlights, complemented by six varnished teak dorade boxes with stainless cowl vents. Access is assured via a custom fold-down stainless stern ladder with teak steps and a custom stainless side-boarding ladder.

All-weather confidence comes from a dodger with an elkhide grab bar (2025), an aft dodger (2025), a cockpit bimini with a dodger connector and windows over the helm (2025), and side curtains from the dodger to the walk-through on each side (2025). Comfort and craftsmanship shine in Ultraleather cockpit cushions with backrests (2025), a varnished teak bow pulpit seat, varnished teak toe rails, drip rail, handrails, and highly detailed cockpit trim, plus a varnished teak cockpit table with fold-up leaves and an extension.

At the helm, a molded steering pedestal with a Ritchie 6-inch compass partners with a leather-rimmed stainless steering wheel, while three flush lazarette hatches provide generous storage. On-deck conveniences include a folding teak deck chair, custom stainless dinghy davits (2022), an Achilles tender (2019), and a Honda 20 hp four-stroke outboard motor.

Dockside essentials are aboard, including four fenders with custom covers, two fender boards, dock lines, and a propane grill, joined by tools, numerous spare parts, galleyware, custom bedding, a clock and barometer, miscellaneous canvas covers, and a Fairclough full winter cover with frame.

Safety

Safety is comprehensively addressed with eight inflatable PFDs equipped with harnesses and personal locators, a horseshoe life ring, a Lifesling, an EPIRB, and a Viking six-man life raft secured within a dedicated, flush aft deck locker, complemented by a full complement of flares and a well-stocked first aid kit.
