Overview
RAT PACK stands as the benchmark 97’ Marlow Explorer on the market, a luxurious long-range motor yacht that has been fastidiously cared for and steadily modernized from day one. Presented in exquisite condition, this blue‑water, raised‑pilothouse flybridge yacht showcases a level of refinement and maintenance that sets her apart.
More than $1.5 million has been invested in recent seasons to elevate her to a near-new standard, encompassing a complete exterior repaint, freshly laid teak, a state-of-the-art electronics suite, a new tender, refreshed interior and exterior soft goods, and comprehensive mechanical and hydraulic overhauls, among many additional improvements.
She features the highly sought-after open flybridge with both upper and lower helm stations, paired with a preferred four-cabin arrangement highlighted by two full-beam staterooms; fully serviced CAT C32s deliver a confident 20‑knot cruise and a top speed of approximately 25 knots, blending passage-making capability with superyacht poise. Among her standout attributes are Caterpillar C32 mains recently serviced with new aftercoolers; a YachtController for effortless docking; Side‑Power bow and stern thrusters; twin 27.5 kW Onan generators; NAIAD stabilizers for comfort underway and at rest; a SeaRecovery Aquatic watermaker; the desirable 4‑stateroom/5‑head layout plus dedicated crew accommodations; a custom inflatable toy dock; DeAngelo exhaust risers renewed in 2022; flybridge air‑conditioning added in 2022; an A‑Sea frequency converter recently serviced; and an updated A/V program featuring a Bose SoundTouch system with nine independent zones for immersive audio throughout.
Her most current yard period in 2025 addressed all the right details: full engine and generator services were completed in October; the ceramic coat and brightwork were refreshed the same month; a complete bottom job with balanced propellers and PropSpeed applied to all running gear ensures peak efficiency; a new commercial‑grade dryer was installed; an extended flybridge awning with carbon fiber poles was fitted for enhanced shade; the watermaker received new membranes; guest and VIP heads were upgraded with new electric units; the tender gained a new Garmin, VHF, and Fusion stereo; the IsoBoost transformer was updated with a new control box; protective PPF film was added to the aft deck table as well as the salon, dining, and breakfast tables; and a new steering ram—an investment of roughly $20,000—was installed for precise control.
A transformative $1.5M+ refit at Safe Harbor LMC in Fall 2024 brought the vessel to an impeccable standard befitting a pedigree explorer yacht. The exterior received a full professional repaint by the Rybovich coatings team, finishing the hull in Awlcraft 3000 “Flag Blue,” the superstructure in “Ostrea” White, and the decks with “Moon Dust” nonskid, followed by a complete ceramic coating. All teak decking was renewed by Teak Decking Systems using vacuum‑bag adhesive infusion for superior longevity. A new Garmin navigation and communications package was installed with redundant backbones and sensors, including advanced sounders, VHF radios, AIS, radar, SAT compass, cameras, and nav radios; connectivity is further elevated by a dual Starlink Marine antenna setup. The tender was upgraded to a 2023 Axis 4.2 inflatable powered by a 60 hp Yamaha (under warranty), accompanied by a new cover, YRM removable chocks, and a custom trailer. Every exterior fastener and piece of deck hardware was removed and renewed, while the running gear—shafts, rudders, bearings, and seals—underwent a complete service with propeller reconditioning, fresh bottom paint, PropSpeed application, and serviced Humphree tabs.
Inside, the ambiance is distinctly upscale and contemporary, with a full replacement of interior soft goods accented by RH and Hermès décor; a new flybridge enclosure enhances comfort in all climates; the exterior varnish was stripped and meticulously rebuilt with 16 coats of the Awlbrite system; David Sutherland/Summit exterior teak furniture was stripped and recoated; new exterior cushions and Stamoid covers were fitted; and the anchors were sanded and polished to a gleaming finish. Critical systems also received thorough attention: hydraulic services completed with fin seals replaced; windlasses rebuilt with the aft windlass renewed; an ElectroSea strainer was added with dual stainless raw‑water pumps for robust cooling; a Willy Vac engine room vacuum system was installed; refrigeration was upgraded with a stainless Isotherm fridge on the aft deck and a new Sub‑Zero on the flybridge; the onboard SpotZero was serviced; Dekit synthetic matting was laid in the engine room and lazarette; and both a new Miele washer and dryer and new carpeting throughout were added to complete the refresh.
In sum, RAT PACK is a turnkey, elegant, and highly specified luxury motor yacht that artfully blends Marlow Explorer craftsmanship with the latest technology and comprehensive service history. With her open flybridge, dual helms, stabilized ride, powerful CAT C32s, and thoughtful four‑stateroom layout plus crew, she represents an exceptional opportunity for an owner seeking a premium flybridge passagemaker capable of effortless coastal cruising or confident offshore adventures in complete comfort and style.

Walkthrough
Step aboard at the transom and you are welcomed by an eight-foot swim platform finished in teak decking with grates, framed by five stainless steel hoop rails and flush cleats. An updated automatic Humphree Interceptor trim tab system partners with a Side Power stern thruster for assured handling, while four SeaVision underwater lights transform the waterline after dusk. Practical touches abound with shore power Cablemasters, a passerelle integrated into the starboard inside steps, and a three-step entry with hinged doors to both port and starboard. Courtesy lights set the mood, a custom stainless overhead freshwater shower and tender tow light add convenience, and a discreet watertight entry leads directly to the crew quarters at the transom.
The aft deck unfolds as an elegant outdoor living room centered around a large teak inlaid table with comfortable seating for eight, safeguarded by boarding gates and served by an updated Maxwell 3500 windlass with two deck switches dedicated to the stern anchor. Bench seating aft, custom teak chairs with a foot rest, and storage cleverly built into the starboard step-up keep the space tidy. An aft-facing CCTV camera watches over the scene, a twelve-inch ship’s bell adds a classic note, and a hard top overhead carries recessed lighting and updated JL Audio speakers for entertainment. A molded teak staircase with sliding hatch rises to the flybridge, and a portside wing station brings engine controls, Side Power thruster controls, and aft deck windlass controls to hand for effortless docking. To starboard, a beautifully executed wet bar invites conversation with three swing-out upholstered stools, a stainless steel sink with hot and cold faucets set into upper and lower molded counters, a Miele grill for alfresco cuisine, generous storage, and an updated Isotherm refrigerator.
Forward through a watertight door, you step up into a salon that sweeps your gaze unbroken to the dining area and pilothouse beyond. Expansive windows dressed in wood blinds bathe Burmese teak-finished walls and updated carpeting in natural light. Twin sofas to port and starboard frame a substantial teak coffee table on centerline, while two designer chairs aft complete this gracious setting. A pop-up forty-eight-inch flat screen TV with Apple TV is concealed within a custom teak enclosure, the Bose Lifestyle stereo—with speakers and subwoofer—sets an immersive soundtrack, and built-in teak cabinetry to both port and starboard organizes shelved storage, glass and stemware displays, and a U-Line icemaker. Overhead lighting with LED rope accents enhances the mood, and 3M “Sound Down” decibel reduction ensures serene conversation underway.
Separated from the salon by a built-in island cabinet housing a forty-six-inch Sharp Aquos pop-up flat screen TV, the dining area features a refined table in three sections with eight chairs, flanked by bookshelves and a buffet to port that conceals a U-Line refrigerator with icemaker and a wine cooler. A raised soffit with four lights illuminates both this table and the table in the salon, while additional buffet storage forward keeps fine china and crystal secure for extended cruising. To port, a private entry door leads down to the aft VIP stateroom, discreetly separated from guest traffic.
Port of the dining table, a staircase of eight steps descends to the private, full-beam VIP stateroom, where a centerline queen berth is flanked by port and starboard nightstands with beveled mirrors and matched hanging lockers. Shoji screens soften the light, a flat screen TV with Apple TV and two Bose speakers entertains, and accent lighting at the berth base adds a warm glow. A large storage space beneath the stairway, custom cabinetry and bookshelf, a central vacuum inlet, and port lights with covers and drapery keep this suite pristine. Twin en suite VIP heads to port and starboard each showcase teak wood trim and veneer cabinetry over teak and holly flooring, mirrored ceilings with recessed lighting, vanities with granite counters and backsplashes, molded fiberglass showers with overhead lights and teak deck grates behind custom teak and acrylic enclosure doors, towel ring and towel bar, and Vacuflush marine heads.
From the dining area and up three steps, the galley reveals a large, open, and social space that encourages owner-operator engagement. Caesar Stone countertops gleam under thoughtfully placed under-cabinet lighting, while a General Electric microwave oven, a Miele four-burner induction range paired with a Miele oven, a stainless steel cooktop, and an Insinkerator trash compactor make meal preparation effortless. Cold storage is generous with a Sub-Zero three-drawer freezer and a Sub-Zero three-drawer refrigerator, and cleanup is streamlined by an undermount stainless steel sink served by a General Electric garbage disposal, a dedicated drinking water faucet, and a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher drawer. Window boxes with wood blinds frame the view, and handsome teak stairs to port provide interior access to the flybridge.
Forward, the pilothouse combines the lower helm with a comfortable portside seating area and hi-lo teak table. Sliding doors with screens open to the side decks, while the helm’s updated Garmin suite anchors a comprehensive command center. A Stidd helm chair faces a pair of updated Garmin 9219 multifunction displays supported by an Airmar B275LHW transducer for fish finding, an ICOM IC‑M510 VHF, two Garmin Tri‑Data displays, a Ritchie Powerdamp Plus compass, a FLIR night vision controller, and a Simrad AP70 autopilot with rudder angle. Windshield wiper controls, updated Humphree Interceptor trim tab controls, Morse main engine controls, Side Power bow and stern thruster controls, and navigation radios round out the lower console. Overhead, JL Audio speakers pair with a watermaker control panel, Yacht Controller docking system, Fireboy engine shutdown system monitor, battery test meter, twelve‑volt D.C. gauge, twelve‑volt D.C. accessory switch bank, twenty‑four‑volt D.C. accessory switch bank, Tank Tender, high water alarm switch, ship’s systems alarm panel, Naiad stabilizer control, inverter one and two monitors, sump and bilge pump switches, and overhead hatches with insect and blackout screens. Five overhead recessed lights and one overhead red map light ensure perfect visibility day or night.
A companionway forward from this area leads down to three staterooms including the full‑beam master aft, where thoughtful service and utility spaces line the passage. An updated Miele washer and a new commercial dryer handle laundry with ease, while a twenty‑six‑inch TV with Apple TV, a built‑in Isotherm freezer chest, and built‑in storage maximize utility. Two Torrid water heaters—one twenty‑gallon and one thirty‑gallon—feed domestic needs alongside a Headhunter Aqua‑Box Mini multistage pressure pump, a UV light for the drinking water pump, an automatic bilge pump, and two water pressure tanks.
The master stateroom spans the beam in a composition of calm, appointed with owner‑selected fabrics and Shoji screen treatments. A watertight entry door opens to a king island berth with a framed upholstered headboard, flanked by nightstands each offering three drawers. Four hanging lockers, a vanity desk with lighted mirror beneath the TV, a cozy settee with assorted pillows, and a portside bench with storage below provide abundant stowage, with further drawer space throughout and a large compartment beneath the berth. His and her heads lie to port and starboard with a large shower between them, each featuring a mirrored ceiling with recessed lighting, a vanity with granite counter and backsplash and under‑mount sink, a soffit with lighting and a hanging locker, storage locker, and port light with cover and drapery, a beveled mirrored aft bulkhead, Vacuflush marine heads, a custom shower door, an adjustable handheld showerhead, a teak deck grate, and a teak and holly sole. Entertainment comes courtesy of an updated LG Smart TV with Apple TV, a Bose sound bar, and overhead speakers.
All the way forward, the bow VIP stateroom presents a queen berth with additional twin berths above, reading lights, overhead hatches, and illuminated hanging lockers. An updated LG flatscreen TV with Bose soundbar and Apple TV offers entertainment, while a beveled mirror on the head access door and anchor locker access with interior light add both form and function. Its en suite head includes a Vacuflush marine head and a separate shower behind a custom curved glass door with teak grate and adjustable handheld showerhead, a medicine cabinet with teak doors, a mirrored ceiling, a portlight with cover and drapery, and two overhead lights.
The port guest stateroom is arranged with twin single berths inboard and outboard, each with storage below, a nightstand with three drawers, two reading lights, two overhead bookshelves, and two port lights with covers and drapery. A twenty‑six‑inch Sharp LED TV with speakers and Apple TV, a cedar‑lined hanging locker with light, and a dressing mirror complete the space. Its head features a Vacuflush head, a separate shower with teak grate, a sink with storage, and a portlight.
Rise to the open flybridge from either the portside interior stair linking the galley or the aft deck staircase, and you enter one of this ninety‑seven Marlow’s signature delights. Forward, the fully equipped helm is flanked by two generous seating areas, each served by a beautiful large teak table. Alongside a single Bluewater Evolution helm chair and dual bench seating, the space comfortably hosts ten to twelve guests, protected as needed by a recently replaced ceramic‑coated isinglass enclosure. Aft to starboard, a complete bar area features a professional stainless Miele electric grill and Sub‑Zero refrigeration, while to port a large double sun lounge invites relaxation. A custom Pipewelders aft shade with updated canvas spans the area, and all exterior soft goods have been recently renewed and are protected by Stamoid covers.
All the way aft, the expansive teak‑decked bridge carries the 2023 Axis 4.2 inflatable and a 2,200‑pound davit, with the deck plan also ready to stage several tables and chairs for larger gatherings. The upper helm console is climate‑controlled by twin 18,000 BTU air‑conditioning units within a sound‑deadening enclosure and finished with a custom matte black acrylic inlay framed by a teak border. Command comes through Garmin 9219 Series MFDs, a Simrad AP70 autopilot, twin ICOM ICM510 VHFs, a Furuno hailer with mic, loudspeaker, and fog signals, Furuno FA170 AIS, SiriusXM Weather, a Humphree Interceptor trim tab control, a Ritchie Powerdamp Plus compass, NAIAD Multi Sea II control, FLIR night vision controls, Morse main engine controls, Side Power stern and bow thruster control, and navigation radios. USB‑C chargers in the flybridge pocket hatch and a chart table with acrylic top add practical finishing touches.
Across the flybridge deck you will find updated teak decking throughout and the updated ceramic‑coated isinglass enclosure, with L‑shaped seating to port and starboard set around large teak tables and complemented by custom teak chairs. David Sutherland teak sun loungers with a matching table, an LG flat screen TV with JL Audio speakers and Apple TV, and an updated Sub‑Zero refrigerator share the stage with a Miele electric grill and stainless steel sink. An aft‑facing camera, overhead lighting, and a Pipewelders custom aft shade with integrated lighting and updated canvas extend comfort into the evening. A custom teak step ladder to the hard top on the starboard side, stainless steel handrails, teak name boards and running lights, a double sun lounge with storage beneath, the 2023 Axis 4.2 inflatable with 60 hp Yamaha and cover set on YRM removable chocks, and a custom trailer in storage stand ready for adventure. The 2,200‑pound davit offers two wireless controls plus emergency wired controls for assured operation.
Overhead, the hard tops carry a FLIR thermal camera, two Garmin open‑array twelve‑kilowatt radars—Phantom 56 and GMR 1236—an ACR LED spotlight, a powder‑coated grab rail, and two Switlik six‑person life rafts under Stamoid covers. Triple trumpet air horns and a Furuno SAT compass are mounted on the lower hard top, while VHF antennas and a sturdy mast complete the profile. Broad side decks with varnished cap rails, stainless steel railings, and a teak sole make line handling and passage forward a pleasure. Four swing‑in boarding gates, wing doors aft, clearly marked fuel and water fills, and two removable boarding ladders—Marquipt for low tide and NewWave for high tide—ensure seamless shoreside access.
An exterior day head to port provides a molded fiberglass compartment with a non‑skid sole, a molded vanity trimmed in teak with a composite countertop, a recessed stainless steel sink with hot and cold faucets, a framed beveled mirror, overhead light, marine head, power vent, and a towel ring. Forward, the bow area is thoroughly equipped with a Portuguese bridge with storage, foredeck seating dressed in updated upholstery with Stamoid covers, and both fresh and saltwater washdowns. Ground tackle includes one Manson 120‑pound anchor with one hundred meters of chain and two Manson 80‑pound anchors, one of which is positioned aft, managed by two Maxwell 4,000‑pound anchor windlasses with foot switch controls and two stainless steel anchor chain stops. A Glendinning Cablemaster forward, two safety hatches from the bow stateroom, teak on the centerline and anchor hatches, and a Side Power bow thruster round out this purposeful foredeck.
A watertight door from the eight‑foot swim platform leads down to the capacious lazarette, where overhead D.C. lights illuminate a SeaDek sole along centerline. A snap‑on toolbox with tools included, an electric two‑horsepower air compressor with storage tank, central vacuum, and a shore cord on an electric reel sit alongside the pneumatic transom door with controls and override. A hand‑operated bilge pump, hydraulic steering actuator, emergency steering handle, stern thruster compartment, Furuno autopilot pump, electric/automatic bilge pumps, and a high water alarm sensor keep ship’s systems accessible and secure.
Moving forward, the crew area is arranged for comfort and utility with twin bunks to starboard and a single bunk to port around a dining table and settee. The crew enjoy a dedicated head and shower forward to starboard, a General Electric microwave oven, and a deep freezer discreetly housed under the starboard forward bunk. Amenities include a nineteen‑inch TV, overhead stereo speakers, a CO detector, a vanity cabinet with stainless steel sink and hot/cold faucet, bookshelf storage, a hanging locker with light, and a teak table on a stainless steel pedestal with dinette seating. The crew head features a fiberglass vanity topped with a Caesar Stone countertop and under‑mount sink, a handheld showerhead with hot and cold faucet, and a Vacuflush marine head.
Forward through a watertight door, the engine room impresses with six feet six inches of headroom and outstanding access to all service points, including the twin generators. Power is delivered by twin Caterpillar C32 1,800 hp engines showing 2,820 hours as of March 2025, supported by two Onan 27.5 kW generators with approximately 4,700 hours on both port and starboard. An ElectroSea system with dual heavy‑duty stainless steel raw water pumps, a Sea Recovery Aquatic water maker, and a recently updated Wards Isoboost transformer stand alongside a Reverso oil change pump and a Glendinning Cablemaster. Ventilation is assured by engine room blowers—two intake and two exhaust—while an A‑Sea frequency converter, recently serviced, manages global power inputs. Sea chests, a Willy Vac system, custom SeaDek flooring, and air‑conditioning in the engine room enhance daily operations, with a CCTV camera on centerline and an engine room door with viewing port for constant oversight. Electrical charging is handled by a Mastervolt Charge Master 12/70‑3 battery charger, a Mastervolt Charge Master 24/80‑120 battery charger, and two Mastervolt Mass Combi 24/4000‑120 inverters. The Dometic chilled water air‑conditioning plant features three 144,000 BTU A/C units, a water pressure tank, a raw water pump, and a chilled water pump. Hydraulic steering benefits from a dedicated reservoir and cooling circuit.
This vessel is wired for 220‑volt 50 Hz service and, thanks to the A‑Sea frequency converter, has operated seamlessly in the United States for over a decade under current ownership. Outlets are EU‑style with U.S. adapters supplied.
