Detailed Description
Description
This MMGI 44M is a full‑aluminium, sleek and sporty superyacht built by Cantieri MMGI di Montfalcone in 2009 and launched in 2010, with major refits in 2013, 2016, and a multi‑million revitalisation in 2024–2025 that introduced a fresh marine blue hull with a chrome finish. Her hull design prioritizes speed and distinctive aesthetics, and a very shallow 1.60‑meter (5' 3") draft opens up cruising grounds such as the Bahamas and Florida with effortless ease. Signature features include a unique flush bow garage for a seven‑meter tender and a large aft beach platform for sunbathing. Iconic and one‑of‑a‑kind, known worldwide, she was a nominee for the World Yachts Trophies 2010 in the categories Innovation and Layout (yachts up to 50 meters).
Aboard, BLADE II sleeps ten guests in five luxurious en‑suite staterooms, all on the lower deck: a full‑beam Master suite with oversized windows, a double island bed, a lounging area with two armchairs and a coffee table, a walk‑in dressing room, and an en‑suite bathroom with double designer lavabos, WC and bidet, and separate tub and shower compartments; three double VIP suites each with closets and en‑suite bathrooms; and one twin cabin with closet and en‑suite bathroom. The interior was completely redesigned during the latest refit by Riccardo Solari in a minimalist, Scandinavian‑inspired style with bright, open, light‑filled spaces and 2.2‑meter ceilings. The main saloon grants exceptional visibility through floor‑to‑ceiling unobstructed windows, while the sundeck is newly appointed with a wooden bar, a new dining table, and new PAOLA LENTI furniture. Getting on board and moving around the main deck is wheelchair‑friendly, and the overall ambience is elevated by Minotti interior furniture. The main deck also comprises a day head, main saloon, formal dining area, pantry, and wheelhouse, while below there is a crew mess with dinette, a laundry area, and a fully equipped galley. Crew are accommodated in four bunk‑bedded cabins, each with en‑suite facilities, for a total of eight.
Her pedigree is underpinned by Navirex naval architecture; exterior design by ALab Studio and Dobroserdov Design; original interiors by ALab Studio and Michela Reverberi, with the current interior by Riccardo Solari; exterior furniture by Paola Lenti and interior furniture by Minotti. Classified as a Motor Yacht / Superyacht / Sport Yacht / Flybridge, she features an aluminium hull and superstructure with teak‑laid decks. The hull type is semi‑displacement / fast, aided by a central turbine booster. Principal dimensions include a length overall of 44.00 m (144' 4"), beam of 8.00 m (26' 3"), and displacement of 200,000 kg (440,924.5 lb), with a gross tonnage of 298 GT. She is classed RINA Pleasure Yacht (originally built to MCA LY2 compliance), flies the United Kingdom flag, and is currently lying in Antibes, South of France.
Performance is exhilarating and refined. Propulsion is by twin 1,925 Hp (1,435 kW) CATERPILLAR C32 Acert diesel engines driving two DOEN waterjets through three ZF gearboxes, augmented by one 4,320 Hp (3,220 kW) VERICOR TF 50 gas turbine as a central booster. Engine hours stand at 3,500 h (Jan. 2026) with booster hours at 137 h (Jan. 2026). With the turbine engaged, maximum speed reaches 27–30 knots at a consumption of 1,250 l/h; without the turbine, maximum speed is 17 knots with consumption of 550 l/h, while the most economical cruise is 12 knots at 360 l/h for a maximum range of 1,000 nautical miles. Manoeuvrability and comfort are enhanced by an OYS MH 0400 bow thruster rated at 85 Hp (63 kW), a steering system by two DOEN units, and two MATN (Dutch) zero speed and underway fin stabilizers that ensure poise both at anchor and underway.
Robust tankage supports extended cruising, with fuel capacity of 26,630 l (7,035 US Gallons), fresh water capacity of 6,070 l (1,603.5 US Gallons), grey water at 2,310 l (610 US Gallons), black water at 2,250 l (594.4 US Gallons), and a MARPOL‑compliant bilge capacity of 300 l (79.3 US Gallons).
Onboard systems are engineered for reliability: a VECO Tropical air‑conditioning system with three large compressors and one mini‑compressor; hydraulic power via a CRAMM motorpump in the engine room and another in the bow deck garage; double RACOR filtration for both generators and engines; a DOLLINGER Coalescer fuel purificator/separator; one IDROMAR watermaker producing 350 l/h; two 200‑liter hot water boilers; bilge pumping led by one large GIANNESCHI unit in the engine room interconnected with the fire pump; an emergency YANMAR portable fire pump in the garage; fuel transfer handled by three pumps comprising one 380V, one 24V, and one manual GIANNESCHI; grey/black water treatment by HAMMAN; and an ATLAS air compressor delivering up to 10 bar.
The electrical backbone comprises a 380/400V AC three‑phase 50 Hz main power system, a 220/240V AC single‑phase 50 Hz network for small users, and 24V DC for lighting and alarms. Power generation is via two 75 kW CATERPILLAR generators (2016), with hours at 3,451 h port and 3,481 h starboard (Jan. 2026). Battery capacity is extensive, including a 24V service bank of twelve, a 24V engines start bank of two, a 24V generators start bank of two, a 24V turbine start bank of two, a 24V emergency bank of four, and a 24V emergency radio bank for GMDSS of four, all supported by three MASTERVOLT chargers in the engine room and three MASTERVOLT units on the bridge. Shore power is via a 125 Amp inlet with a 25‑meter lead and reeling motor.
Navigation and communication are fully modern and paperless. The main deck bridge features two CAT engine ignition controls, one DOEN waterjet control, four FURUNO 27" multi‑function interchangeable screens, two 18.5" FURUNO ECDIDS screens, two 18.5" MAXSEA screens with TIMEZERO navigation software, two FURUNO 0560 2023 GPS units, two trackball controls, FURUNO RCU 915 and FURUNO RCU 024, an AIRMAR wind instrument integrated with TIMEZERO, a SIMRAD AP70 AK2 autopilot, a FURUNO BR 510 BNWAS, a FURUNO FA‑170 AIS, MATN’s stabilizer digital control, a FURUNO 0575 2023 satellite compass with drift instrument, a PLATH & CASSENS magnetic compass, a FURUNO NX 700 Navtex, two port and starboard SAILOR 7224 VHFs with DSC, and two ICOM BC 222 crew handheld portable and rechargeable VHFs. The engine control room houses a multifunction systems display and a BEIJER X2 Marine Automation turbine display, with multifunction systems display repeaters in both the crew mess and the captain’s cabin. Aft on the sundeck, a steering station affords superb visibility for close‑quarters handling. CCTV is managed by one VIDEOMATRIX and seven digital cameras—two in the engine room, two on the side decks, one on the sundeck, and two on the aft deck.
Entertainment and IT are comprehensive: SAMSUNG TVs in all cabins, the saloon (with up/low mechanism), and the crew mess; Apple TV; iPad controls throughout; a PROLICENT movie uploader; a BANG & OLUFSEN sound system in the main saloon; a DENON amplifier system; interior speakers in all areas; waterproof exterior speakers on the aft deck, foredeck, and sundeck; a STARLINK satellite antenna; a PEPWAVE Wi‑Fi router with two SIM cards; and an HP printer on the bridge.
The galley and service spaces are professional‑grade. In the main galley, a double stainless‑steel sink with mixer tap, a MIELE microwave, two MIELE convection ovens, a MIELE induction hob with up to eight burners beneath a custom stainless‑steel extractor hood, six custom stainless‑steel interchangeable fridges/freezers, a MIELE dishwasher, and a VITRIFRIGO icemaker support refined gastronomy. Laundry is handled by two MIELE Professional washing machines and two MIELE Professional tumble dryers. The main deck pantry adds seamless service with a SAGE coffee machine, a MIELE fridge, and a MIELE dishwasher, while the sundeck service area provides a sink with mixer tap, a SCOTSMAN ice maker, and a VITRIFRIGO fridge.
Deck equipment is engineered for precision and ease. Two MAXWELL 5000W hydraulic anchor windlasses work in concert with one electric rotating anchoring capstan, two galvanized stainless‑steel anchors of 190 and 220 kg and two galvanized stainless‑steel chains of 115 and 125 m, while two MAXWELL 3500W electric mooring winches with remote and foot controls simplify docking. A CRAMM 2,800 kg crane serves the foredeck garage, which opens hydraulically in two sections, and at the transom an OPACMARE Transformer platform/passerelle/swim ladder rated to 1,000 kg joins the expansive aft deck beach platform. Exterior lounging is curated with four PAOLA LENTI designer chaise‑lounges on the aft deck platform, a sundeck wooden bar, an L‑shaped sofa upholstered in PAOLA LENTI fabrics, and an al‑fresco dining table for eight on the sundeck framed by PAOLA LENTI designer chairs and shaded beneath a sun awning set on four aluminium poles; three further PAOLA LENTI designer chaise‑lounges and the aft steering station complete the scene. Ten underwater lights—four on the stern and three on each side—illuminate the waterline after dusk.
Safety and security are comprehensive, with a CO2 fixed fire extinguisher in the engine room, a seawater fire extinguisher in the garage, fire extinguishers in all areas, and smoke and heat detectors throughout. Fire‑fighting is further reinforced by one large GIANNESCHI fire‑fighting pump in the engine room interconnected with the bilge pump and an additional YANMAR portable emergency fire pump in the garage. Life‑saving equipment includes twenty‑four life jackets, two life rafts for twenty persons each, four life rings, two fireman suits, two fireman axes, one fire blanket in the galley, and one SAILOR 100 EPIRB distress signal.
Dockside and watersports provisions are equally well considered, with a set of ten lateral fenders, a set of eight mooring ropes, and two boat hooks complementing the CASTOLDI Jet 23’ tender powered by a YANMAR 315 Hp engine, a SEADOO Spark BRP jet‑ski (2021), two SEABOBs Kayago F5 and F5S, and a full suite of snorkelling gear.
With her diesel engines plus a gas turbine central booster, shallow 1.6 m draft, Scandinavian‑inspired interiors by Riccardo Solari, bright 2.2 m ceilings, wheelchair‑friendly access, and stabilizers that work both underway and at zero speed, BLADE II presents a rare blend of avant‑garde design, exhilarating performance, and genuine cruising capability.
