The 40MXP evolves the acclaimed 37XP explorer yacht by reimagining the stern: the former aft beach club/garage gives way to a spa-like jacuzzi and a double‑width bathing platform, complemented by an expanded aft deck. The more classic arrangement of the 37XP has been adapted so owners can tailor the onboard flow to their ocean‑going lifestyle, creating the ideal setting for family and friends alike.

By dispensing with the garage/beach club, we were able to extend the bathing platform, increasing the length overall from 37m to 40m for this luxury motor yacht. The jacuzzi introduces a seductive water‑level retreat, and, by advancing the aft deck sliding doors, the aft main deck has been enlarged outside, borrowing a portion of the generous main salon found on the 37XP and transforming it into alfresco living. You still enjoy the substantial volume expected of that superyacht, yet the exterior and interior zones now feel far more harmoniously balanced. The result is serene, sociable, and seamless.

The sundeck, boat deck, and interior layout choices carried by the 37XP remain unchanged on the 40MXP; the sole substantive revision is concentrated at the yacht’s transom, preserving the explorer‑yacht blueprint elsewhere.

MXP abbreviates Mediterranean Explorer, and the 40MXP presents a compelling alternative to a conventional garage. This more informal, resort‑style arrangement embodies the expedition‑yacht ethos for warm‑water cruising and has already proven desirable, with three examples sold.

Key features

Electric fin stabilization delivers assured poise at sea, complemented by three 70 Auto Sync generators that provide abundant onboard power. Climate control is comprehensive, with full air conditioning and heating via a central chiller and fresh-air make-up system, featuring individually controlled fan coils for each cabin to deliver 480,000 BTU of comfort. Freshwater autonomy is enhanced by two 230 I/h water makers, while precise low-speed handling comes from electric bow and stern thrusters rated at 90 kW and 45 kW respectively. Ground tackle is equally robust, with an electric twin anchor windlass served by 18 mm chain in 140 m and 190 m lengths, and twin stern capstan winches.

The yacht’s electrical architecture combines a 24 V DC service battery with a 220 V AC system, backed by a 380 V, 125 A two shore supply and 380 V AC shore power with automatic reclaim and dedicated battery chargers. Convenience touches abound, including a hot and cold swimming shower at the stern and a flybridge wetbar with sink, hot and cold water, electric barbeque, icemaker and refrigerator. Entertainment is immersive, with flatscreen televisions in all guest cabins, the captain’s cabin and the crew mess, each with SAT connection, plus a 75" TV in the saloon, a 65" in the Owner’s Cabin and a 65" in the Master Cabin, all served by a satellite TV system with an 85 cm dish.

Navigation and safety are professional-grade, featuring Raymarine electronic depth and speed displays, autopilot, VHF with AIS, two radars and a plotter suite comprising two 16" and three 22" displays. Protection systems include an automatic fire extinguishing system for the engine room, automatic bilge pumps and a remote-controlled searchlight. Decks and social areas are finished to superyacht standard with teak laid across the bathing platform and steps, side decks and foredeck, the flybridge stairway, and the flybridge and cockpit floors, complemented by a flybridge sunbed with cushions. A three thousand kg capacity tender crane expands exploration, while a fully fitted crew cabin and comprehensive antifouling underline readiness for extended cruising. Nighttime ambiance and awareness are enhanced by six underwater lights and six cameras with monitors in the wheelhouse and crew mess.

Operational resilience is further assured by a fuel polishing system, four life rafts to SOLAS B10 man standard, GMDSS compliance and a Navtex NX300 or equivalent. Domestic systems are equally robust, with a twin-pump hot and cold water pressurized system with shore connection. The yacht is built with RINA C + Hull Mach, Y Unrestricted Navigation and a Yacht Monitoring System.

Optional extras

Tailor performance with a choice of MAN D2868 LE428 delivering 800 bhp at 2100 rpm, IMO T-III (SCR), or MAN D2862 LE 427 producing 900 bhp at 1800 rpm, IMO T-III (SCR). Elevate life on board with an extended carbon hard top and a remote opening soft top, and reimagine the upper deck as a salon instead of a cabin. Seamless access is assured by a side boarding ladder and a hydraulic platform, while an Opacmare transformer refines boarding and water-level operations.
