“Windborne,” a classic Sparkman & Stevens sailing yacht drawn in 1955 and crafted at the Paul Molich yard in Denmark, began stylishly. After distinguished campaigns in the Baltic and England, she returned under her own keel to New York in 1957.

“Windborne” changed hands in 2019, acquired from two devoted yachtsmen who had been joint custodians since 1976, keeping her on the front row of Lake Michigan along Lakeshore Drive. With steadfast care, the pair cruised and campaigned her for more than four decades, preserving her authentic fabric. The present owners were enthralled by her grace and promise, electing to purchase this vintage wooden yacht and set in motion a sensitive refit returning her to her original splendor. They now seek a permanent family to steward her, gifting her another 68 years of exhilarating racing and sailing.

Between 2019 and 2025, the owner invested well over $500,000, elevating her to Bristol condition; she went on to capture the “People’s Choice” coveted honor at the Newport Beach Wooden Boat Festival in 2024.
