Detailed Description
2017 upgrades
A comprehensive suite of 2017 enhancements elevates performance, comfort, and connectivity. A Seakeeper Gyro brings remarkable roll reduction, while all-new Furuno TZ Touch electronics were installed at both upper and lower helm stations for fingertip command. Entertainment and communications received significant upgrades with a DirecTV KVH HD satellite system feeding receivers in each stateroom and the salon, and a KVH VSAT for robust offshore internet. All chillers were replaced to refresh the climate system, and V-Kool film was applied to five lower helm windows to tame heat and glare. An Atlas Convertor was installed with 130' of 3-phase 100 amp cord for flexible shorepower, complemented by an aftercooler upgrade on main, new rudder and shaft seals, and new headliners in the salon. Over $20,000 in custom linens now grace every stateroom bed. Exterior refinements include varnished exterior tables, six varnished chairs for the flybridge and aft deck, and new exterior pillows for both areas. Rounding out the year, the yacht took delivery of two 2017 Yamaha VXR1800 Jet Skis, expanding the on-water fun.
Key features
Beyond her pristine condition, LADY DORIS distinguishes herself with a host of thoughtful features and upgrades that make ownership effortless and deeply rewarding, even for an owner-operator. A fourth window in the master bathes the suite in natural light, while an oversized VIP rivals a second master. The flybridge davit is engineered to hoist two Jetskis or additional water toys to the boat deck, supported by an upgraded, high-production watermaker that ensures abundant fresh water wherever you cruise. A 25 kW frequency converter makes her truly global-ready, and the upgraded 2 x 23 kW 50 Hz Kohler generators deliver reliable shipwide power. Communication and reception are strengthened by a 2.4 metre whip aerial for FM radio matched to the VHF aerial on the radar arch. Security and handling receive equal attention with a four brick safe with combination lock, an anchor winch upgraded to the V6000 model with 100 m of 12 mm chain, and robust bar-type cleats. On deck, a navy blue canvas Bimini Top with stainless steel framework shades the flybridge, while the Bose 48 surround sound system replaces the standard Sony system for immersive audio. At both helm positions, Caterpillar marine power displays replace analog gauges for precision monitoring. A CCTV system with two cameras—one in the engine room and one under the flybridge arch covering the platform—feeds both helm E120 displays. The cockpit features teak decking, and a dinghy inflator with 12v socket resides in the bottom portside fender locker on the aft deck. Electrical Seamless Transfer enhances continuity, and a joinery enclosure crafts a semi-enclosed galley layout with a custom fridge/freezer unit. Shorepower management is effortless with 2 x Glendinning Cablemaster systems for power feed and recovery of 63 amp 220v AC cables. Individual covers in navy blue canvas protect flybridge seating, the wet bar, and helm seats, while an iPod docking station connects to the Bose 48 auxiliary input in the lower saloon. Recent refreshes include a new battery charger and new Samsung TVs in the salon, VIP, and guest staterooms. Safety and compliance are elevated with an eight-man liferaft canister on the lower aft deck, a locking mechanism to hold the flybridge access hatch open, a lower helm dashboard finished in a carbon fibre effect, MCA-spec grab rails outside the crew access door, and an MCA-spec kedge anchor supplied and stored in the engine room. For laundry, a separate Miele washer and dryer replace the standard Bosch combination unit in the starboard crew cabin. A pair of retractable cleats for the tender are fitted on the port and starboard corners of the platform. Finally, Power Take Offs on both engine gearboxes allow simultaneous use of bow and stern thrusters for supreme close-quarters control.
Standard equipment
The yacht’s standard specification is impressively comprehensive: air conditioning throughout; a hydraulic lifting platform; an electric windlass with controls on the foredeck and flybridge; a side-opening helm access door; and a hot-and-cold transom shower. Power-assisted steering pairs with a flybridge wet bar featuring sink, ice maker, cool chest, and griddle. Flatscreen televisions are fitted in all cabins except the crew’s, while a hi‑fi surround‑sound DVD/CD/radio system serves the saloon and master stateroom, and guest cabins enjoy dedicated DVD/CD players. Entertaining is effortless with an aft cockpit wet bar with rubbish bin and cool chest, plus an electric refrigerator, freezer, and ice maker in the galley, alongside a ceramic hob, microwave/oven, and dishwasher. Navigation is supported by electronic depth and speed displays, a radar/chart plotter with GPS, autopilot, and dual-station VHF radio. A pressurized hot and cold water system works with a DC fresh‑water pump and a toilet system with holding tank. Safety and serviceability are enhanced by an automatic fire extinguishing system for the engine room, automatic bilge pumps, and slow‑speed generators with silent exhausts. AC shorepower with battery charger, bow and stern thrusters, and trim tabs make handling seamless, while a remote‑controlled spotlight at the bow adds night confidence. Practical touches abound: deckwash outlets forward, aft, and on the flybridge; a fresh‑water marina connection; teak bathing platform and steps; teak side decks and cockpit floor; screen demisters; stern winches; antifouling; and all items otherwise included in the standard specification.
Us specification includes
The US specification package adds upgraded generators, construction to US Coast Guard build regulations, and US specification appliances, ensuring compatibility and confidence in American waters and marinas.
Cockpit
The cockpit is designed for elegant living underway and at anchor, starting with a canvas enclosure with isinglass windows and a teak‑laid cockpit floor that is fully self‑draining. Wide teak‑tread stairs lead to the flybridge, while an aft bench settee and a teak table with folding leaves on a GRP base create an inviting alfresco dining space behind stern safety gates. A dedicated hatch provides engine room access, and handling is assisted by 2 x 24v stern capstan winches with fairleads, 24v overhead cockpit lights, and 24v low‑level courtesy lighting. Entertainment flows outside via two Bose speakers linked to the flybridge CD/radio system. A locker houses a rubbish bin, a cool chest, and useful storage, with a fire extinguisher within the wet bar locker for safety. The hydraulic swim platform, swim ladder, and fresh‑water shower set the scene for the water, while a Besenzoni passerelle makes boarding seamless.
Galley
The galley is fully equipped for gourmet service with a Frigoboat refrigerator and Frigoboat freezer, an ice maker, a Bosch four‑burner ceramic cooktop, a Bosch microwave/convection oven, and a Bosch dishwasher. A black granite countertop and stainless steel sink with hot and cold water anchor the workspace, supported by china and flatware for eight place settings. Cabinet and drawer storage is abundant and complemented by a slide‑out pantry, all illuminated by 24v overhead halogen lighting. A teak sole adds warmth, and a dining table seats up to eight. For safety, both a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket are at hand.
Foredeck
Forward, pulpit and cockpit rails frame a purposeful working area featuring a stainless steel bow roller with anchor stop and a stainless steel bow plate. Ground tackle is robust: a 50 kg Delta anchor with 100 m of galvanized chain, and an electric winch and capstan with controls both on the foredeck and the flybridge. Deckwash outlets serve forward and aft, with a chain locker and fender storage, plus two line storage lockers and a fender tie bar under the anchor locker lid. A curved direct‑glazed safety glass windscreen pairs with pantograph wipers and washers. Fuel fillers sit port and starboard with a fresh‑water filler close by. IMCO navigation lights, a remote‑controlled dual beam spotlight at the bow, and 24v low‑level courtesy lights on the side decks enhance visibility. Underwater lights add nighttime drama. Comfort features include bow seating and a sunpad with a speaker connection, forward seating, and a hatch to the VIP stateroom. A Jabsco washdown and windlass complete the foredeck’s capability.
Fly bridge
The flybridge is a self‑draining oasis with an acrylic deflecting spray screen and generous seating areas with storage lockers beneath. A teak dining table on a GRP base invites long lunches, while a forward upholstered sunbathing area beckons. Stainless steel aft safety rails provide security, and a wet bar with ice maker, cool chest, and griddle elevates entertaining, with a fire extinguisher in the wet bar locker for safety. A deckwash outlet and 24v low‑level flybridge lighting enhance practicality and ambiance. The radar arch structure supports electronics, two pairs of marine speakers deliver sound, and a companionway hatch connects to the aft cockpit.
Electronics
In 2017, all‑new Furuno TZ Touch electronics were installed at the main and flybridge helms, paired with a new Direct TV KVH HD SAT system and a new KVH VSAT for seamless entertainment and connectivity. Autopilot duties are handled by a Raymarine ST8001+ dual‑station system. The flybridge helm benefits from a Raymarine E120 12.1" additional color display, while the lower console features a Raymarine E120 12.1" color radar chartplotter with a matching E120 12.1" color repeater, plus an E120 12.1" color repeater on the fly console, a Raystar 125 GPS Differential receiver, and a 4 kW 48" open scanner. At each helm position, Raymarine ST290 depth, speed, wind, and compass displays (four displays per helm) provide precise data. There are separate controls for the bow and stern thrusters, and a shoreline telephone connection is hard‑wired to the phone point next to the chart box. Entertainment includes a Sony 42" LCD TV in lieu of standard for the master aft cabin, and both helm positions feature the Sport (Predator) style wheel instead of the standard Yacht version. Teak Amtico flooring with black caulking between the strips enriches the helm area, and trim tab indicators ensure perfect running attitude.
Mechanical
Power comes from twin CAT C-32s rated at 1652 hp each (1153 hrs.), turning 2 x submerged props in semi‑tunnels for efficient thrust. New in 2017, Seakeeper Gyro Stabilizers markedly calm the ride. Precision handling is assured with both bow and stern thrusters. Filtration is robust with Dual Separ SWK‑2000/18 UMK, and safety is enhanced by a Sea Fire system. Climate control is provided by Dometic 24,000 BTU, four units, working alongside a Marine Air System. Long‑range independence is supported by an Idromar International Model MC3J water maker. Exhaust and sound management include 2 x HM1 Marine Silencer, 2 x Cable Masters, and 2 x exhaust fans. Separate fuel filters with water alarms safeguard the engines. An automatic fire extinguisher integrates engine/generator and fan shutdown, while automatic bilge pumps operate in each watertight compartment and automatic flood pumps serve the forward area and engine room. Ventilation is aided by 2 x extractor fans AC, and a manual bilge pump provides redundancy.
Electrical
Electrical systems are engineered for reliability and flexibility: 2 x 23 kW Kohler generators (Port: 1182 hrs., Starboard: 1729 hrs.) with underwater silent exhausts and sound boxes; a galvanic isolator; and 24v and 12v DC systems with full circuit breaker protection. Battery capacity is generous with 8 x engine batteries on the 24v circuit, 4 x domestic batteries on the 24v circuit, and 2 x generator batteries on the 12v circuit. An alternator split charging system supports underway replenishment, with remote battery switches controlled from a cockpit locker. Charging is handled by a 95 amp charger for 24v circuits, an 80 amp combi/charger, and a 20 amp charger for 12v circuits. Hot water is supplied by 2 x 2 kW immersion heaters for the calorifier, while AC sockets are distributed throughout the boat, and a 24v hand light with cable is ready for service. An ANG Converter 25 kW expands shorepower compatibility. Rounding out the package is a Phase Three Smart Charger—one Model PT‑70A and two Model PT‑2495F—plus an LED camera.
Construction
Built for strength and longevity, the hull and superstructure are hand‑laid GRP with gel coat, including stripes, over a vinylester skin coat with powderbound mat. The bottom is a stitched multi‑axial reinforced single skin, with balsa‑cored hull topsides and PVC foam‑cored deck and superstructure. Structural integrity is ensured by a hull stiffened with longitudinal stringers supported by transverse bulkheads and floors.
