At the helm, navigation is transformed by new Garmin touch screen MFD’s, a new AIS, a new GPS, and a new compass, complemented by a new steering wheel and a new horn. With low hours, joystick control, and a Volvo Penta Dynamic Positioning System, she delivers fingertip handling and precise station-keeping beneath a large power sunroof that floods the cockpit with light. Entertaining is elevated by an upgraded Fusion sound system, upgraded bow speakers, and a salon surround sound entertainment system, all driven by a new stereo and paired with new televisions throughout. Comfort has been reimagined with new mattresses in all cabins, new carpet underfoot, new interior couches, and a new salon table, set against timeless teak decking and framed by new exterior upholstery and new canvas covers. The cockpit is equally well appointed with a new cockpit refrigerator, a full wetbar and BBQ, a new cockpit ice machine, and an aft cockpit electric sunshade for effortless relaxation. Offshore practicality meets polish with a new anchor, windlass, and chain, brilliant new underwater lights, and a hydraulic swim platform. Completing the package, a new 2023 tender with 25 HP and a folding transom fits perfectly in the garage, aided by a tender recovery roller system to make launch and retrieval seamless.
Saloon
Designed as a refined social hub, the saloon is cooled by air conditioning to Tropical specification and grounded by Oak Amtico flooring that flows through the saloon, galley, and companionway stairs. Entertainment is effortless with a new stereo, a refrigerator at hand, and a new flatscreen TV—indeed, a new flat screen television anchors the media ensemble—paired with a DVD/Blu-ray/radio 2:1 sound system and a radio/iPod interface feeding speakers in the cockpit. A new saloon table and new couches frame the large folding dinette, with generous stowage beneath the seats and a dedicated drinks cupboard. Lighting comes from 12v overhead halogen lights, with opening portholes set within panoramic windows, complete with mosquito screens and blinds, plus a deck hatch above. Shipwide systems are accessed via the main switch and circuit breaker panel (AC/DC), and convenience is assured with a double AC socket and scatter cushions that add a tailored finishing touch.
Galley
Perfectly equipped for extended cruising, the galley features an electric refrigerator and an electric twin hob, supported by a microwave and a pressurized hot and cold water supply. Dining is easy with a six-place crockery set and a six-place cutlery set, while thoughtful cupboard storage and drawers keep everything secure under way. An opening porthole with mosquito screen and blind brings in fresh air, and a double AC socket powers appliances as needed. Safety is integral, with a hand-held fire extinguisher and a first aid kit ready to hand, and a discreet rubbish bin ensures a tidy workspace.
Master en-suite stateroom
The full-beam master en-suite stateroom is a private sanctuary, cooled by air conditioning to Tropical specification and elevated with a new stereo, a new flatscreen TV, a new mattress, a new cabin dresser, and a new headliner. Security and refinement meet at the door with a key lock for the master aft cabin and a Safe - 2 brick - with Digital lock. Light and privacy are managed by Venetian blinds in the master cabin in lieu of the standard curtain—indeed, Venetian blinds complement the large side windows and blinds already fitted—while ample storage lockers and a hanging wardrobe provide generous stowage. Comfort extends to a settee, a vanity station with mirror, and a new carpet underfoot. Entertainment is mirrored with a second new flatscreen TV and a DVD/CD/radio with stereo speakers. Practical touches include two double AC sockets and 2 x reading lights 12v, with elegant overhead halogen lighting for a warm ambience.
Master en-suite head
The master en-suite head is appointed with a washbasin, coordinated taps and accessories, and hot and cold water, all reflected in a new mirror above a refined vanity. Daily essentials are organized with a toothbrush glass holder, a soap dish, a towel ring, and a stowage cupboard, while an electric toilet and a dedicated shower compartment add convenience and comfort. Overhead lights illuminate the space, and an opening porthole with a mosquito screen and curtain invites fresh air. A razor socket 240/110v completes this elegantly practical suite.
VIP stateroom
Forward, the VIP stateroom offers remarkable flexibility with two single V-berths that swing together to make a double, now crowned with new mattresses for restful nights. Under-berth storage, a hanging wardrobe, and a storage cupboard keep belongings orderly, while a deck hatch and opening portholes within panoramic windows, complete with mosquito screens, bathe the space in air and light. Illumination comes from overhead halogen lighting and 2 x reading lights, power is provided by a double AC socket, and entertainment includes a 22" flat screen television with DVD/CD/radio and stereo speakers. New carpet completes the inviting finish.
VIP/day head
Serving both the VIP and day use, this head features a washbasin with coordinated taps and accessories, hot and cold water, and a new mirror above a practical vanity unit. A toothbrush glass holder, soap dish, and towel ring keep essentials at hand, while a shower and an electric toilet ensure comfort for guests. Overhead lights brighten the space, an opening porthole with mosquito screen and curtain brings in fresh air, and a razor socket 240/110v underscores the thoughtful detailing.
Helm station
Command comes naturally at the helm, where the Volvo Penta DPS Dynamic Positioning System integrates a 7" colour display, a GPS transponder, an engine software upgrade, and the Joystick Plus with low speed function for absolute control. Upgraded electronics work in concert with a bow thruster—Sleipner Side-Power SE100/185T-24V, 6.3–8.4 hp—while a Lewmar anchor winch V3GD-24v pairs with a Sanshin Twin Beam remote-controlled searchlight HR-1012 for confident anchoring and night operations. The console, with carbon fibre effect panels and a burr-type walnut fascia, frames an Icom IC-M604 VHF with DSC alongside a dedicated VHF radio, new AIS and new GPS. Tactile touches include a leather and chrome steering wheel—now complemented by a new steering wheel—single lever controls, and full analogue engine instrumentation with fuel and fresh water gauges. A new compass and new horn enhance awareness, while trim tab controls, a waterproof plug and socket, and 2 windscreen wipers with washers equip you for any weather. Safety and convenience are considered with a fire extinguisher and glass holders within easy reach.
Cockpit
The cockpit is a versatile open-air salon, anchored by the Volvo Penta DPS Dynamic Positioning System with 7" colour display, GPS transponder, engine software upgrade, and Joystick Plus with low speed function for effortless maneuvering at the dock. Culinary moments shine with a marine electric BBQ grill, a new cockpit refrigerator, an icemaker—Raritan fitted in the wet bar—and a Waeco Coolmatic CR80E in lieu of the wetbar cupboard liner, all complemented by a new stereo and a new teak step for the helm. Underfoot, the teak sole, steps, and platform are self-draining, secured by a safety door, and shaded by new canvas covers over new exterior upholstery. A full wetbar with hot and cold water and a cool-box supports alfresco dining at a teak table with dinette seating, a folding teak helm seat, and a co-pilot seating area beside a chart table. A large stern sunbathing pad spans the garage, while glass holders, overhead cockpit lights 12v, and low-level cockpit lights 12v set the mood from dusk to night.
Deck
On deck, every passage is made easy with a fresh water deck wash system, with outlets forward and aft including a deck wash hose kit, and robust hardware including an additional pair of 10" mooring cleats fitted to the aft lower edge of the hull band facing aft. Stern docking winches—Lewmar C3 fitted port and starboard—simplify mooring, while low level LED side deck lights in WHITE, 6 per side fitted to the coach roof facing the side deck, guide safe movement after dark. A dinghy inflator and socket 12 volt and a tender recovery roller system add tender readiness, complemented again by an additional pair of 10" mooring cleats aft. Underfoot, teak decking adds grip and grace. Ground tackle is comprehensive: a Lewmar anchor winch V3GD-24v, an electric anchor winch and capstan with deck and cockpit controls, a stainless steel bow roller with anchor stop, and, newly installed, a new anchor, a new windlass, and a new chain feeding a chain locker with fender storage. For precise handling, a bow thruster—Sleipner Side-Power SE100/185T-24V 6.3–8.4 hp—is fitted and also referenced in the electrical section, while brilliant new underwater lights punctuate the waterline. Shore power is effortless with a Glendinning Cablemaster—1 x power feed and recovery AC shore power cable. Day-boat conveniences abound: fresh water filler and fuel filler, a foldaway swimming ladder, a teak-laid bathing platform and steps, and a hot and cold cockpit shower. Polished details include an ensign staff and socket, a fender tie bar under the anchor locker lid, a moulded non-slip deck finish, and fittings all in stainless steel, from pulpit and cockpit rails to stainless steel fendering with rubber insert, supported by 8 stainless steel cleats. IMCO navigation lights complete a deck engineered for beauty and utility.
Engine room
Beneath the deck, the engine room is comprehensively soundproofed and accented by new underwater lights, while the propulsion and auxiliary systems are protected by a diesel FuelMag conditioning system for engines and generator. Power comes via an Onan generator with fuel filters and water separators to engines and generators, all safeguarded by a fire and bilge flood monitoring alarm system with 5 zone coverage and an FM200 manual/auto fire exit system. Automatic bilge and flood pumps with high-level alarms work alongside air-extraction fans 24v, generator exhaust silencers and water separators, and engine exhaust dry risers with water injection. Reliability is assured with strainers to all raw water materials, delivering a machinery space engineered for quiet competence.
Electrical system
The yacht’s electrical backbone is designed for endurance, featuring a slow speed generator with underwater silent exhaust system and an AC dockside connection tempered by a galvanic isolator. An Onan generator supports a 24v DC electrical system with full circuit breaker protection, fed by 4 x engine batteries, 4 x domestic batteries, and 2 x generator batteries, with an alternator split-charging system ensuring balanced replenishment. Battery switches are controlled from a locker in the cockpit, while a battery charger and a water heater add daily comfort. AC sockets are thoughtfully distributed throughout the boat for seamless power access.
Underwater gear
Performance and protection converge below the waterline with the Volvo Penta IPS drive system, valves to all underwater skin fittings, and sea water strainers to engines and generators. A full cathodic bonding system to zinc anodes combats corrosion, while stainless steel trim tabs fine-tune attitude and efficiency underway.
Systems
Onboard systems are engineered for reliability: an electric toilet system 24v, an aluminum freshwater tank, and a GRP fuel tank feed a freshwater pressure system 24v and a calorifier 240v. Grey water management is handled by a grey water stump box and discharge pump 24v, while a robust bilge pump system and the FM200 manual/auto fire exit system add critical layers of safety. Control remains assured with auxiliary hydraulics and hydraulic power steering for a composed ride.
Construction
Built on a foundation of strength, the hull and superstructure feature hand-laid GRP and a flawless gel coat including stripes, with a vinylester skin coat using powderbound mat for superior osmosis resistance. Below, a stitched multi-axial reinforced single-skin bottom is paired with balsa-cored hull topsides and a PVC foam-cored deck and superstructure. Structural integrity is ensured by hull stiffening with longitudinal stringers supported by transverse bulkheads and floors, while performance is preserved by Antifouling - International Interspeed Ultra Black.
Manufacturer provided description
Combining space with pace, the Portofino 48 presents a remarkably resolved interior plan: a full-beam owner’s aft suite washed with light from huge windows to either side, and forward, a clever VIP suite where the double bed swings apart to create twin single berths at a moment’s notice. At the heart of the accommodation, the central saloon balances warm grain with bold lacquers and deep glass accents, creating a modern yet inviting social core. Above, the profile is sleek, a long expanse of foredeck crowned by cantilevering sunpads, and a cockpit screen that rises well aft in a smooth, neatly engineered radius. Behind it, the helm station blends pilot seating, a wetbar, and a full dining arrangement, so every mile underway feels as effortless as the time spent at anchor.
