Electrical equipment

The yacht's electrical equipment is designed to provide reliable and efficient power management, ensuring smooth operation of all onboard systems. At the heart of this setup are twin Caterpillar 99KW generators, installed in 2022, which offer robust power generation capabilities. As of December 2024, the port generator has logged 400 hours, while the starboard generator has accumulated 500 hours, reflecting their relatively low usage and excellent condition.

Each generator is equipped with custom sound shields and two sets of analog gauges, allowing for precise monitoring and reduced noise levels. The yacht operates on a 120/208v, 3-phase electrical system, which is complemented by an Asea shore power system, ensuring seamless power supply whether at sea or docked.

The electrical system is supported by two sets of batteries: CCA1000, 24v DC batteries for each main engine, and 24v CCA 800 batteries for each generator. These batteries are maintained by two Mastervolt battery chargers, which ensure that both the main engines and generators are always ready for operation. This comprehensive electrical setup guarantees that the yacht is well-equipped to handle all power needs, providing peace of mind and uninterrupted enjoyment for all aboard.

Engine room and mechanical equipment

The engine room and mechanical equipment of the yacht are meticulously designed to ensure optimal performance and reliability. At the heart of the engine room are two Caterpillar 3512B engines, featuring a stainless and chrome package, which underwent a complete top-end rebuild in 2022. These engines are paired with Reintjes 3.048:1 reduction gearboxes, providing efficient power transmission. The system is further enhanced by redundant hydraulic PTOs for the central hydraulic system, ensuring seamless operation.

Fuel management is handled by three Racor 1000MA fuel filters for each main engine and two Racor 100MA fuel filters per generator, ensuring clean fuel supply. The Tides shaft seal arrangements and a 15" monitoring panel for ship systems add to the reliability and ease of operation. The yacht is equipped with three domestic system 15-ton A/C chillers, maintaining a comfortable climate on board.

The Headhunter Tidal Wave sewage treatment and grey water system, along with a custom fabricated black water vent flushing system, ensure efficient waste management. The Headhunter tank display and control panel provide easy monitoring of black and grey systems. The EMI steering control and alarm panel, along with two resilient mounted air compressors and a Hankison compressed air system dryer, contribute to the smooth operation of the yacht.

Water management is supported by two Spot Zero 2100 GPD watermakers with touch panel displays, and a modified dockside filling/SpotZero system on the swim step. The Quantum zero speed stabilizer power pack with two 3-phase hydraulic pumps and a Quantum heat exchanger ensure stability and comfort at sea. Fuel transfer is facilitated by two AC powered fuel transfer pumps and an Alfa Laval fuel centrifuge with cycle automation, while an oil water separator per ABS standards ensures environmental compliance.

The engine room also features two hot water heaters, an auxiliary motor control panel, and a removable diamond plate decking system. The Delta T ventilation system and a CO2 fixed fire suppression system, as per ABS standards, provide safety and efficiency. Redundant bilge and fire systems, along with an emergency steering and backup propulsion control center, ensure preparedness for any situation. An oil change system for mains, gearboxes, and generators, along with clean and dirty oil tanks, complete the comprehensive setup.

In the lazarette and engine control room, aft access from the swim step leads to the aft engine room access. The engineer's cabin features a double berth and ensuite head, along with an engineer's desk and computer. Storage cabinets, bilge accesses, and a steering flat access hatch provide functionality. Two Woodward EGCP-2 generator control panels, a power management center, and a ship's distribution switchboard ensure efficient power management. A Snap-On 53" toolbox with a workbench and fixed vise, along with a DelField refrigerator/freezer unit, Cornelius commercial icemaker, and Miele washer and dryer, add to the practicality of the space. A fixed firefighting station with hose and pump control ensures safety in this well-equipped area.

Work and upgrades

The yacht has undergone extensive work and upgrades to ensure it remains at the forefront of luxury and performance. The hull and ship construction have seen significant enhancements, including the reinforcement of hull plating and the installation of a new main engine exhaust system from the engine room to the transom in 2023. The vessel has been upgraded with 5086 aluminum piping, and the below-water seawater piping for the chain locker in the bow has been replaced and reinforced. The anchors and anchor chains were cleaned and re-galvanized in 2023, and the entire vessel received a complete paint job by Rybovich. In 2024, new bottom paint and prop speed were applied to all running gear.

The electrical system has been modernized with a new Atlas switchboard installed in 2022, and all high-voltage wires for air-conditioning have been brought up to current specifications. Shore power units were overhauled, and automation was added with two new switchboards tested in 2023. The engine room lighting was converted to LED, and a new frequency drive for the compressor air-conditioning was installed.

In 2023, the hydraulic systems received a comprehensive overhaul, including the top deck and forward bow cranes, windlass, and gearbox for the windlass. All hydraulic hoses showing wear were replaced. The propulsion system saw a complete top-end rebuild of the port and starboard main engines in 2022, with new turbos, injectors, aftercoolers, and valve guides installed. The main engines and gearboxes received new resilient mounting, and various components such as CAT cylinder heads, injectors, and fuel priming pumps were installed. The engine room was refitted and repainted with Awlgrip paint, and the engine lighting was updated to LED.

The generators were upgraded in 2022 with the installation of two new CAT 99kW generators, which include a platinum warranty valid until 2027. The generator exhaust systems were overhauled, and new mufflers with updated stainless steel enclosures were installed. The interior of the yacht was refreshed with new vinyl in the bridge deck salon, engine control room, and crew galley, along with new carpet and padding throughout the entire boat in 2023. A Pullman bed was added to the twin guest cabin, and updates were made to the bridge console and crew quarters.

Plumbing upgrades in 2024 included the cleaning and sterilization of fresh, grey, and black water tanks, with new coatings and sealers applied by Rybovich. The seawater piping was replaced and overhauled. The air-conditioning plant underwent an overhaul, and all ductwork was professionally cleaned. The sewage treatment system was updated with a new transfer system, and the freshwater system saw an overhaul of water makers, new pumps, and installed hoses.

The stabilizer system was overhauled in 2022 with new seals, and exterior additions included a new raised hot tub and lounge area in 2023, along with a custom frameless windscreen and stations around the flybridge. New exterior deck lights were installed in 2022, and a new overhead ceiling track mounting system was added in 2023. The vessel received a new teak deck on the swim platform, a new sunshade over the flybridge hot tub area, and new exterior cushions.

The AVIT system is set for a complete overhaul in 2024, including stereos, controllers, and iPads. A tender diesel fueling station was installed, and new computers were provided for the captain, mate, and engineer. The navigation display was updated in 2022, and new compressors were installed in the main refrigerators and freezers. New appliances include a washer and dryer for the control room, a new ice machine in the galley, a new cooktop in 2023, and a new commercial ice maker in the control room.

The compressed air system received a new air dryer in 2022, and the yacht's collection of toys was enhanced with two new Yamaha jet skis in 2022, a new inflatable island system in 2024, and a completely overhauled inflatable tender in 2022. These comprehensive upgrades ensure that the yacht remains a leader in luxury, performance, and modern amenities.
