Introduction

CHUNDA’ was built for a globe traveling mothership operation in 2002. She has fished from the South Pacific to the Eastern Atlantic raising fish wherever she was. Most recently she has been in service fishing the summers off the island of Madeira for World Record angler Stewart Campbell and his longtime veteran skipper Bark Garnsey. This 42’ Gamefisherman is one of a kind and has been set up for serious big game fishing.

She features a full Jack Hopewell custom tower and a simple, clean, no-nonsense layout with easy maintenance in mind. Her bridge has a center helm pod with lift up lid to access electronics as well an overhead radio box, helm chair and bench seats port and starboard.

Her cockpit has a teak deck and coverboards, a rigging station with tackle storage to starboard while to port she has a bait freezer and drink box. Her salon is open and airy with a large bench seat to port and dinette that drops down as a small bunk to starboard. Both the bench seat and dinette seats have storage under. 

The galley is up just forward of the dinette with the sink, cooktop and storage under to port and the deep chest refrigerator to starboard. Over the chest fridge is the stereo and more storage cabinets. 

The center stairway below allows for a large single full size bunk to port and over/under full sized bunks to starboard. Large hanging lockers are forward of the bunks on each side. Fully forward is her head with shower, sink and vanity.

During the winter of 2015 'CHUNDA' had a complete re-power with a pair of all new C-7 Caterpillar engines with full warranties. The engines only have 211 hours since install. 

 

Accommodations

CHUNDA features a head with shower forward and (3) bunks amidship with an over/under to starboard and a single to port, all full size.  She has the Galley up with sink to port and chest refrigerator to starboard.  Her open bulkhead with drop down curtains allows good bait watching from the dinette and portside bench that includes substantial storage underneath.
