MCCONAGHY - the Australian shipyard in Hong Kong

MCCONAGHY is an Australian shipyard with the offices in Sydney, Hong Kong and Macau. The company has been operating for nearly half a century. The organization has never has the external debt, because it is financed by the project participants. This ensures the longevity of the company. The management of the company is carried out by Mark Evans and Jono Morris. The contracts with the customers are concluded through the offices in Hong Kong and Sydney.

Over the past 10 years the company has built more than 900 vessels with a total value of 120 million US dollars. Currently in China McConaghy has 175 employees, in the Sydney division there are 15 people.

Using the traditions of innovations, McConaghy was founded by John McConaghy in 1967. They began to produce the boats, catamarans and Scythians. The first ships were made of plywood. Later, they got the new technology for production of the boat hulls according to the sandwich structure. The vessels were also made of Kevlar and fiberglass. The result was the tough fibrous structures that provide vessels with reliability and low weight.

The vessels under this brand have won many awards. They participated in the America's Cup and the Kenwood Cup, as well as other competitions. In 2000, John Morris and Mark Evans took over the company from its founder John McConaghy and found a business partner - Steve (Moxy) Moxham. Since then the company has continued to pursue a very conservative financial strategy of diversification, simultaneously expanding its revenue base.

In 2006, the company has once again expanded and acquired 2,500 square meters in China. This allows the shipyard to build the larger ships.
