AQUILA - Baglietto FOR SALE

Crafted in aluminum by Italy’s famed Baglietto and styled by Tommaso Spadolini, the luxury motor yacht and private superyacht M/Y AQUILA was delivered in 2004 to fashion legend Roberto Cavalli and has enjoyed comprehensive refits in 2020 and again in 2023–2024. This Italian-built performance yacht sleeps up to ten guests in five cabins: a full-beam owner’s suite with walk-in wardrobes and en suite bathroom, two lower-deck VIP staterooms each with a walk-in wardrobe and en suite bathroom, a twin cabin with en suite shower room, and a double cabin with its own en suite. Her interiors centre on a full-beam main saloon combining an elegant lounge with formal dining, complemented by a generous foredeck sunbathing area. The upper deck hosts a dedicated cinema room, while the flybridge sets the scene for open-air dining for twelve with a convivial bar, ideal for entertaining. Powered by twin 3,700 hp MTU diesel engines, AQUILA reaches 26 knots, and zero-speed stabilisers deliver exceptional comfort both underway and at anchor for effortless bluewater cruising.

Machinery

The drivetrain is anchored by ZF 7550 NR gear boxes turning KAMEWA stainless steel shafts and KAMEWA propellers, delivering smooth, efficient thrust. Shipboard power comes from 2 x Kohler 80 KW main generators, with electrical autonomy supported by Mastervolt batteries and chargers. Endurance is assured with fuel consumptions of 500 L/Hr at 13.5 knots and 1000 L/Hr at 21 knots, while freshwater independence is secured by Idromar International Model MC10 Puplex x 2 watermakers.

Ancillary equipment

Precision handling comes via KAMEWA jets for propulsion and steering, complemented by ABT TRAC “Zero Speed” stabilizers for both at-anchor and underway comfort. Rolls Royce KAMEWA rudder angle indicators provide exact helm feedback, while close-quarters control benefits from an AMERCIAN Electric bow thruster. Fuel management includes Racors filtration and an Alfa Laval fuel oil separator. Heavy-duty Gianneschi ACM502BT pumps rated at 6 Bars serve bilge and fire duties, and domestic hot water is supplied by Boiler 400 Verticale inox 400L x 2. Black water is processed by a Hamann AG sewage treatment system feeding Tema electric WCs. Climate control is by CLION Marine air conditioning with comprehensive Gianneschi ventilation throughout.

Safety & security equipment

Comprehensive safety includes 4 x life rafts for 25 persons, 4 x life rings, McMurdo EPIRBs, and 18 x flares. Medical readiness is ensured by Med-Air with a full MCA medical kit. Fire protection features CO2 and 37 x portable fire extinguishers. Security is handled by an IP CCTV system with 2 x screens and 5 x cameras.

Communication equipment

Global communications are enabled by Furuno Sat C SATCOM and Starlink SAT internet, with cellular redundancy via 2 x Pepwave. The suite includes VHF radiotelephones 2 x Furuno FS2575-C, dedicated FURUNO watchkeeping and FURUNO receiver units, and a PABX Panasonic telephone/intercom system.

Navigation equipment

The bridge is equipped with a C-Plath magnetic compass and a Sperry Navigat X MK2 gyro compass, working in concert with a Sperry Navipilot 4000 automatic pilot and a Sperry Navinot III log. Depth and situational awareness come from Furuno Navnet echo sounder and radar, while Timezero chart plotting integrates voyage planning. Positioning is provided by 2 x Furuno GP-39 GPS, complemented by Furuno NX-700 NAVTEX, Thrane & Thrane GMDSS, B7G wind instruments, and a Furuno FA150 AIS.

Deck equipment

Ground tackle is managed by a Maxwell 4000 anchor windlass system with 2 x 140m anchor chains, supported aft by Maxwell 2000 warping capstans. Launch and recovery are handled by Nautical Structure boat crane and davits, and visibility is extended by searchlight x 2.

Audio/visual systems

Entertainment flows seamlessly throughout: the main salon and main deck dining both feature projector screens, while main deck aft speakers are served by the central entertainment system. A dedicated cinema boasts an 86” Samsung, the sun deck offers a 56” Samsung, the owner’s cabin presents a 66” Samsung, the VIP cabin a 46” Samsung, all guest cabins are equipped with 42” Samsung displays, and the crew mess also benefits from a 42” Samsung.

Office equipment

A dedicated office setup includes a PC with internet access, a separate PC serving the CCTV circuit, and an HP fax/photocopie unit to streamline onboard administration.

Domestic equipment

In the main galley, Miele cooking equipment pairs with Miele refrigeration/freezer, supported by 2 x dishwashers and 1 x ice machine. The laundry is fitted with 2 x Miele washing machines, 2 x Miele dryers, and a Miele iron. The pantry provides 2 x fridge, an ice machine, and a coffee machine, while the bridge deck pantry is equipped with a fridge and coffee machine. The crew mess is additionally served by an ice machine.

Other

Leisure amenities include a foredeck Jacuzzi, ship’s safes for both Captain and Master, comprehensive gym equipment with free weights and bench, and a swimming pool for elevated onboard enjoyment.

Tender and toys

The fleet includes a 37ft Axopar tender powered by 2 x 350hp Mercury outboards, plus a crew tender/rescue Novurania 4.2m Solas RIB (2008 model) with a 15hp Yamaha OB engine. Added thrills come from 1 x Sea-Doo GP 230 (2 seater), 1 x Seadoo Rotax (2 seater), a Jetsurf Factory GP100 2018, a Jetsurf Race 2018, and 3 x SeaBob F5s. Watersports kit features a Flyboard 18M X-Armor, 2 x stand up paddle board, 3 x Inflatable Seabob Dock, 2 x liferafts, 1 x trampoline, dive equipment, water ski, wake board, banana, and tubes.

Refit

A thorough modernization program elevates the yacht’s pedigree: the previous owner completed a full paint job in 2021–22, a full interior refit in 21/22, and laid a new teak deck on all decks in 21/22 (20 year). A W5 (4000hrs) major overhaul of the main engines was completed in December 23’. Generators were replaced for new in 2022 and servicing is up to date. A new AC plant was installed in Sept 24’, and the RINA Class survey was completed in Jan 24’ following the major refit period. During 2023–2024, the program continued with a full rebuild of main engine and generator exhausts; all tanks cleaned and restoration works performed as necessary, various pipe works completed, and all thru-hull valves removed and either serviced or replaced. The passeralle was removed and overhauled, as was the swim ladder. Various paint touch ups and repairs were executed, along with a 10yr KaMeWa Jets overhaul including shafts and main bearing seals. The Alfa Laval unit was overhauled, all pumps serviced or replaced as necessary, and the water makers fully overhauled.
