Detailed Description
Features
Thoughtfully specified from deck to keel, this Beneteau First 345 arrives with the right protection, power, and performance kit already aboard. Comprehensive covers include a Bimini top, a spray hood (dodger), and a mainsail cover, ensuring shade, shelter, and sail care in every season. A shore power inlet keeps you confidently connected dockside. For precise navigation and seamless communication, the electronics suite comprises a depthsounder, radar, log-speedometer, wind speed and direction instrumentation, a navigation center, radio, compass, cockpit speakers, and VHF. Inside, comfort and reliability are assured by an electric bilge pump, oven, a backup manual bilge pump, an electric head, hot water, a refrigerator, and a battery charger installed new in 2020. On deck, enjoy cockpit cushions for long, relaxed passages and a swimming ladder for effortless access to the water. The rig is clean and purposeful, featuring a steering wheel for fingertip control and a spinnaker pole for downwind pace. A versatile sail wardrobe includes a storm jib, a battened mainsail, a spinnaker, a gennaker/cruising spinnaker, and a furling genoa, ready to meet changing wind and sea.
Overview
The First 345 rewards you with an exceptionally roomy, thoughtfully organized interior. Forward, a generous V‑berth is flanked to port by a large hanging locker, with abundant shelf space and full‑length storage lockers to starboard, plus additional compartments beneath the berths. A 12‑volt reading light sits above each berth for cozy evening retreats. Step aft through a privacy door into the main cabin, where a centerline table with fold‑up leaves seats six in comfort and hides a dedicated bottle compartment at its heart. Long, upholstered settees to port and starboard offer plentiful stowage behind the backrests and on outboard shelves. To starboard, a full navigation station anchors the saloon; continue aft to a private cabin featuring a double berth, a hanging locker, reading lights, and two opening ports for excellent ventilation.
The galley, set to port, is sized for real cruising and daily living. It features a two‑burner Electrolux propane stove with oven, refrigeration, and a double stainless‑steel sink with hot and cold pressure water, with hot water supplied either by the engine or by shore power. A Nova gas‑control solenoid shutoff switch is conveniently located at the navigation station. Thoughtful lockers organize dishes, utensils, and dry stores. Aft to port, the head presents a proper vanity, a hanging wet locker, and a hot‑and‑cold pressure shower.
Electronics and navigation systems include a VHF radio, depth sounder, speed and distance logs, a wind speed and direction indicator, Raymarine radar, an electric windlass, and an electric Jabsco toilet. The electrical suite is equally robust, with 12‑volt DC and 110‑volt AC services, four batteries with a parallel switch, an automatic battery charger supported by dockside 30‑amp shore power, an AM/FM Cybernet Marine stereo, and an electric windlass.
Sails and rigging are set up for fast cruising and club racing alike. The standing rigging is stainless wire, complemented by a Navtec hydraulic backstay adjuster, a baby stay, running backstays, and a Hal QuickVang. Both the traveler and genoa cars offer multiple adjustment points and can be tuned under load. A Harken roller‑furling system streamlines headsail handling. The keel‑stepped mast carries double spreaders for stiffness and control. A spinnaker pole is included, with all spinnaker lines led aft except the mast pole height adjustment. Three internal reef lines and an outhaul in the boom refine mainsail shape. Primary winches are Lewmar 43 self‑tailing, supported by four secondary Lewmar winches—two 43s and two 24s. The sail inventory comprises a mainsail from 2019, one hundred forty percent genoas including a heavy‑weather cut, an eighty‑five percent working jib, a fifty percent storm jib, a large light‑air gennaker, and a symmetrical spinnaker with sock.
Additional cruising essentials convey with the boat: three fenders, four dock lines, four life jackets, a fire extinguisher, an air horn, two winch handles, a dodger, a bimini, and a main sail cover. Recent care includes a new battery charger installed in 2020, a new engine exhaust elbow also in 2020, and a new engine water pump in 2023.
